some people don't like this kind of music or guitar playing or this style. youtube may have suggested it to them. there are new people being born and using the internet every day. they don't all like the same things, some don't like this. the feature serves to give us all a chance to show our preference. it is used not only to better personalize suggestions for you or me or them and show us what we liked and not show what we did not, it also serves to curate content in general.
thumbs down on youtube are not scores or grades that say the video or the person in it are bad or worthless (yes, sometimes it's a really badly made video of something good and you downvote it cause the effort was not there). it's just a simple tool to show you content you like and to help the "suggested" part do it's job after learning your preferences. it learns those preferences by - looking at your likes and dislikes.

Thank you for sharing this video. The whole show was great, and this one was a particularly surprising example of the huge "case of tools" that Mr. Beck has at his disposal. The guy is a living legend and deserves every accolade he’s ever received, and this is another great performance from this hugely talented, influential musician. I hope Jeff just keeps playing, and recording because he can’t play big shows thanks to Covid. Viva, Jeff Beck! Viva, "Bolero"! Thanks very much for sharing!🙏🏼

You should give Larry Carlton's version a listen. His tone and color is spectacular, especially on the studio version. I like Brian Setzer's version too because he really pushes the songs potential with all his usual big runs and extensive use of tremolo and vibrato.
