I'm not sure how to feel about modern NASCAR. I grew up watching in the 80s, 90s and through the mid-2000s. A lot of the older drivers were aggressive at times, but there seemed to be more class and respect amongst the drivers than there is now. When I watch the driver interviews and post race coverage, it feels like NASCAR is full of tik tokers and twitters; those people who say and do stuff just for the likes and retweets, not caring or respecting anyone else around them. My problem with Ty winning wasn't that he dumped another driver for the win, but that it was his teammate and that he wasn't very respectful about it afterwards. If I was a team owner and I had a car in a position to make it to the final 4 and my second car (who was already in) wrecked my first car, I'd be pissed.

What Ty is doing isn’t just losing him fans/respect. It’s losing Joe Gibbs, the man, respect. I’ve admired Joe Gibbs for decades from the time he coached my home town football team. Then I admired him for going into NASCAR and building a dominant team at the top level of the sport. And all the while I’ve admired him mostly for the kind of man he is. Or the kind of man I thought he was. But now I no longer see him in the same light. I see him as a man who is enabling and encouraging a child to act in ways Joe KNOWS are wrong but won’t do anything about because that child is his grandson.

But if I was that #19 I would flat out be telling Joe Had a blast BUT you better know TODAY, The #54 WILL NOT win if I can get to him. Flat Out--your grandson will NOT win. I would then tell Jr. I will wreck him so be ready should this somehow get you dragged in. Hell, I would even call all my sponsor's and say it may get ugly BUT IF I can wreck him your company WILL have coverage for decades to come.. And lastly it makes me sick I have to get behind JGR because of CBell!!! I am so over JGR this year from about April to now..............

If Ty let him win without trying to pass (and I agree what he did wasn't an attempt to pass) wouldn't that be pretty much the same as trying to advance a teammate into the playoffs like what Cole Custer got penalized for? Again I want to say I do not agree with the way he did it, but I've watched Nascar a long time and I've seen this move many times. I think a lot of people want to hate on Ty so much and when he gives them reason we watch social media go insane the way it is right now. I'm very big on having individual driver personalities out there, it is needed to make the sport interesting and if they keep trying to make everyone have the same personality I don't think it will work well for Nascar.

I think NASCAR can be blamed for some of this, since it is their format. Can't blame teams for trying to work the system to best benefit their chances. NASCAR cherry picks their rules so often that I don't know how crew chiefs are able to do their jobs effectively. My issue with modern NASCAR is that I feel like I'm watching WWE on wheels.

Brandon Jones has literally nothing to lose going into Phoenix. As soon as you step out of that 19 car, you are not a Gibbs driver, so Grandpa can't do anything after. You are not losing that Menards sponsor as it is a family sponsor. And do you think Junior is going to care? you wrecking the 54 got his driver a championship. The only thing that might happen is him missing Daytona but for Jones in the #9, he will EASILY make up those lost points. So go out Saturday night, and put that 54 into the damn wall.
