As a homosexual who has spent his entire life chaste, I can say that although I struggle with soul crushing loneliness everyday and feel an immense void in my life without ever having had a romantic partner or even a single romantic interaction with anyone I feel blessed knowing I am on the path God wants me to on. It's been a true struggle to bottle up my feelings and prevent any expression of my romantic desires my entire life when all the straight people around me seem defined by their love life. I experience anger and jealousy as well because of that and have to repent every single day of it.

Hi Miguel, I just want to say how much I admire your strength and self-control - God must really be working in you in your life! I can't imagine what it must be like in that situation, but I recommend that you pray to God for strong Christ-centred friendships in your life, if that is something you currently lack. I will pray for this loneliness and jealousy you experience, that God will be able to satisfy the love your heart aches for. God bless ☺

Many straight couples are lonely after the "love " wears off. Then their true test of love starts. God is blessing you, now. Look for it in the little things and be thankful for it. Acknowledging those little moments is the start of mustard seed faith.

@ Miguel Zayne I admire your spirit and faithfullness to God in this 'pleasure before anything' world. However I am going to burst your bubble a little on the fantastic view of the 'straight people' you think are having a great time of it. As a married family man I can assure you it gets no easier. In fact the great demands of chastity are as much a part of my life as it is for the single person. Perhaps it is a bit worse in some sense. A person who experiences sexual addiction or is hyper-aroused (for lack of a better term); inside of a marriage would be akin to an alcoholic in a free bar (I am not trying to disparage marriage here). The Fall of man has left us struggling in this life no matter what our circumstances may be. Half the battle is being given the Grace to clearly see our major fault; the other half is overcoming it. I know it has taken years, decades, for me to gain some self-control and approach what God has asked of me in the married state. God bless in your struggle and journey.

The trouble is...a deeper “pride” agenda won’t leave the schools alone, won’t leave the churches alone, and won’t leave politics...especially abortion and marriage alone. I left that lifestyle years ago, too, and I am grateful, when I see what the deeper movement really is...downright evil. Yes, Children of God is correct, but it doesn’t stop there. I was FORTUNATE to actually escort Mother from India to Roma when I lived at Hellenikon ABS Greece...
Once a week, our military passenger/cargo aircraft would fly from our USAF Air Force base in Greece to India, then to Roma, and back to Greece.
One time, Mother asked if she could ride on our plane to Roma.
I was asked to be on that aircraft and Escort Mother.
Mother had one request... in the bathroom's and elsewhere in the small passenger section of the aircraft, could we please cover any mirrors? OK, I covered them.
Once we arrived in India, as the cargo was being unloaded, I walked to the air terminal to receive Mother and a couple of her sisters, and escorted them to the aircraft. Once the aircraft became airborne and we were on our way to Roma, I just had to ask Mother, why did you ask that the Mirrors be covered?
Mother's reply... We are not to look upon our OWN REFLECTIONS, but instead, look upon the faces of OTHERS, so that we may find the face of GOD in others.. ...
This opened up our conversations during that trip... and I had a wonderful experience meeting Mother.
One thing though, from her talk, we are not to HATE one another, we are to show LOVE, COMPASSION and PITY.
Those that refuse to come to GOD, we are to PITY, but show them Love and Compassion in hopes that they will remember and one day do the WILL OF GOD...

My friend, do not misuse that passage. Christ was then speaking of people who would claim to come in His name speaking with His authority. It was a way to root out false teachers: "By their fruits you shall know them."
The Prodigal Son did not cease being the apple of the Father's eye while he was off plundering his father's riches on perverted desires. Instead, the Father waited patiently with love for the Son to return to His arms. But when the Son asks for his share of the inheritance, and insults his Father, the Father permits His child's freedom. Likewise, anyone who never repents of their failures simply can not be the object of a Divine Mercy that they did not ask for.
"Beloved Children of God" is not an exclusive title for the righteous, it is the humble gift given to all who God has claimed as His own, regardless of their behavior. For us it is grace first, transformed by loving works. We repent to receive the Lord's Divine Mercy, and re-enter into the life giving Love that we cannot live without. The Prodigal Son did not cease being the Son of the Father, but rather, "...my Son was dead, but now is alive again"

Agree and this sounds like a bunch or modernist b.s AGAIN…so sick of the weak lovey dubby let’s be nice to everyone. Niceness isn’t a virtue. Charity is, and charity is speaking to them the truth. Practicing sodomites do not enter the kingdom of Heaven, and if you truly love them, you don’t stop at telling them “I love you” you must tell them the truth about what the Church teaches whether they want to hear it or not. Truth and Charity go hand in hand.

    • @carmensitaaaa

I think “fraternal correction” by definition is that you have a “fraternal” relationship with the person as the context of correction. Which means you have to first establish mutual friendship and trust, to accept and honor their humanity, and show the person that like a caring brother, even if they reject your correction, you will always be there for them and never give up. (See 1 Cor 13) That’s when you earn your right to “correct” someone. That is “speaking the truth in love.” Love is not a sentiment or being nice. Bishop Barron has always quoted Dostoevsky who has said,”Love is a harsh and dreadful thing.” It’s not that YOU get to say harsh and dreadful things to another in the name of correction; it’s the harshness and dreadfulness of walking along someone’s suffering because of the sin of this world, allowing your heart to break and grieve, and keep holding on to hope even in the darkest of places of rejection and even persecution. Jesus did that on the cross and asked us to follow his example.

It only becomes a sin when the feeling is applied inappropriately by fornication or adultery as examples. When you really think of it, same principle applies to heteros as well. Heteros will also sin if they have sex before marriage or enter into extra marital affairs.

Of course there is the eternal punishment in the end for those who are unwilling to change their ways but God is a God of justice. If God never intervened, why do people get caught. Why is it that often times things done in the dark are brought to the light? Why is it that people that are suffering eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel? Why is it that those that exploit their wealth sometimes find themselves with nothing. Let me assure you God made no mistake when he created the world. He knows why everything is happening the way it is.
In terms of choice he gave us the choice to live our lives according to our own will. He wanted us to glorify him willingly and with our whole heart. It’s like an argument where people say God is too controlling because he’s like Worship me or perish. It was that way in the beginning when one sin and the earth would swallow you, but after the great flood, God promises to never lash out like that again, instead he allows man to do what they wish, which will later allow them to choose whether to follow God or not.
But let me state my point. God does not condone evil. He does intervene in many ways. It could be through nature, other people or his own Godly way. He is a God of Justice and will serve justice the moment it is due.

Romans 8:16. “ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ- if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him ! “ And now since we have rec’d salvation through the Holy Spirit , 1 John 1: 9 “we confess our sins, & he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ‘all unrighteousness’!” Now we become sanctified, when we run from sin, and are glorified for eternity with Him! 🙏🏻💫📖👏🏻

This "we're all children of God" isn't correct. I'm tired of hearing it from whatever source. We are human creatures whom He made in His image and likeness, yes, but we are fallen human creatures. His children are those who believe in Christ, follow, love, and obey Him, all accomplished thru His grace without which we can do nothing. We receive the Holy Spirit, are adopted as children, and then call God "Abba". What can be said is that we are all potentially children of God, loved by Him. He wants us to be His children and died on the Cross to make that possible, but if we don't believe, we remain fallen human creatures, not His children. May all come to believe in His Incarnate Son, and may those who do believe in Him receive the grace of final perseverance, a grace for which I pray daily. 🙏 this is not a "holier than thou" attitude on my part. I know only too well my own sinfulness. Without Christ's atoning Passion and Death, I'd be doomed. No matter how "good" we think we are, it could never outweigh our transgressions. That's why we need Our Savior.

  • @mmeh.

We are not all children of God!!! "Many are called but few are chosen." We shouldn't hate them as it says to love your neighbour as yourself but we cannot agree with their lifestyle. Being gay is not a sin but living that lifestyle is a great sin in God's eyes thus we cannot all be children of God unless we repent, live a godly life and we receive salvation through Jesus Christ. Even then we continue to be sinners and we must repent continually. Another misconception is that we can accept Jesus and with that comes salvation. Salvation is something that is granted us (when He chooses) if we are His elect. It is not something that we can just take or accept when we please.

Gods Word says we are all children of wrath until repenting and coming to Christ in faith .. our identity is found in Him after conversion . I pray these words penned by the Apostle Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit bring you rest .
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

But God will have mercy on all that will confess and forsake their sin, and follow Jesus Christ! But until you do that, no matter what kind of sin you are living in, you remain an enemy of God! And the wages of sin is eternal death! Gods love calls all mankind everywhere to repent! And yes he loves us all so much, he gave his only begotten son, to suffer and die, to take away our sin! @amyj4224 5 лет назад +2

Nate Graham God knows us better than anyone else in the world. He knows us better than we know ourselves even, because He made us. He has the most intimate understanding of us because He can see into our very souls, which He Himself created. He knows our hearts and what will bring us happiness, as well as what will hurt us. There are even straight people who are called to a life of chastity, because God knows that that is where they will find true happiness. Every vocation is a gift, whether it be married life, or a life of chastity. But God has allowed us free will. We can reject the life He is calling us to live if we want to, but without Him we will never find true happiness.
There’s a talk I was listening to the other day, if I think of the name of it I’ll comment it so you can choose to look more into depth if you want, but to simplify it: the speaker was a father and had a two year old son. His son really wanted to climb on some playground equipment (I think it was monkey bars??), but his father wouldn’t let him. Was his father not allowing him to because he was just wanting to ruin his fun and put an imposition on him? Of course not, he wasn’t letting him because he knew it was too dangerous and he could get hurt. He did it out of love. He loved his son so much that he gave him the gift of protection, even though it seemed like he was taking something away from him. God is like that. He doesn’t make rules because He wants to restrict us and ruin our fun, he does it to protect us because He loves us. God knows that sin hurts our souls and leads to nothing but unhappiness, and wants to save us from that.

They are not “beloved children of God” until they believe in Jesus and repent. That is biblical. We are all loved by God or else He would not have let His Son go to the cross for us, but unrepentant sinners are not children of God.

      Christ be with you
there are two ways this term is used.
One is that we are all sons of God through Adam (Luke 3:38)
Though we are all his Children we have died to him (Luke 15:24)
The second is we are adopted Children of God through Christ. those who have been raised to new life in Him (Rom 6:24)
Those who Love God and keep his commandments (1 John 5:1-2)
Homosexual and other sinners for that matter have died to God and he still loves them and waits for there return but it is only those who have been born again in Baptism and live according to Christ teaching and that of his Church that are truly his Children.
      God bless you

Exactly! I was waiting for that to be said too. It doesn't matter what man thinks/believes, it only matters what God says, period. Also, Mother Theresa was incorrect in saying that we are all "children of God," as scripture says that we must be adopted into God's family by receiving Jesus by faith {John 1:12}. We are all Gods creation, but not all His children. And yes, God loves gay people, but He hates sin, whether it is homosexuality, murder, lying, adultery, etc. So, in short, one can NOT be an active homosexual and call themselves a Christian. It is a contradiction to say. God be with you.

Respecting other peoples freedom to choose sin does not explain or justify the so-called "Christian" who wont even try to save souls or do missionary work in their own neighborhoods, hording their light and dooming those souls in their own ignorance. To be a good Christian you kind of have to get in their faces and preach the word. That does not require compulsion or a disregard for autonomy. But it does require that you actively engage when you can. "Propose, not impose"... You cant propose if youre not willing to proselytize to anyone but the already devout choir among you. And by not, you ARE imposing. Youre imposing their inevitable damnation on them.

I'm presently married to a woman who refuses to be intimate with me and gives me virtually no affection. Yes she is a devout Catholic and we do everything together; pray, go to church, go to family gatherings, etc... Just no intimacy and very very little affection. We're essentially roommates. So I know what it's like to have to live a chaste and lonely lifestyle. If I can do it so can someone who has gay tendencies. We must live for God. His will above our own. This is why I do not divorce my wife. When I married her I made an agreement with God to protect her, love her, and lead her to God. Sex and happiness are not guaranteed. It's really hard on me and at times I just want to have a meltdown, but I remember St. Joseph and how he never touched the Holy Mother, despite being married to her. So I ask for his intercession, pick up my cross, and carry it without complaint. What saddens me the most is that I know my wife will have to answer to God for denying me intimacy in our marriage. For the record I am 53, she is 52, and neither of us have any health issues. She just tells me that she doesn't "feel that way to me" and that "it makes her feel she's being raped". The bottom line is this .... there is no justification for sin. If you need to be celibate to avoid sin then so be it. Pick up your cross, like me, and let's follow Jesus.

Mother Theresa attacked the very root of the problem with this response. Catholicism teaches us to love the sinner and hate the sin. The response of identitarian politics like the LGBT movement is to say "sinners are their sin": "gay" is an "identity", its who they perceive themselves to BE. Mother Theresa is refusing to accept the very premise of the question: nobody is by definition gay. You are first children of God. And if your defense is that you were born this way, then hear Christ's teaching that we must be born AGAIN.
But I dont agree with this guys approach. You see a bunch of young people parading with colorful flags straight into the abyss and you just look at them with fondness? To me its like seeing your brother injecting heroin into his arm and not interfering for fear of being perceived as "a thorn on his side". Can you truly claim to love someone and be fine with watching them destroy themselves? Speaking the truth with boldness is not incompatible with love! But it must be done right and with the grace of God in order to achieve fruitful results.

Mother Teresa response was weak in my opinion, given the opportunity, she should have taught that the law of God does not permit gay behaviour, and also quoted scripture. Appropriately, in today's gospel reading at Mass:
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it. What, then, will a man gain if he wins the whole world and ruins his life? Or what has a man to offer in exchange for his life?
‘For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and, when he does, he will reward each one according to his behaviour.'
How appropriate is this teaching and especially in these dark times!

Mother Teresa’s response was not weak, nothing she did was weak. She spoke about all of God’s beloved children in a manner to draw them into communion with the Lord. Especially if they were not already practicing Catholics. As people grow closer to the Lord we desire to do things in a right manner and please the Lord. She was ingenious in her desire to love the person, not the sin, draw them into communion with the Lord. This is a much more effective way than beating someone over the head with the Bible because they’re a sinner. The only one qualified to throw the stone didn’t.
