      HB Maverick Luckily this one is not that far from you. Yeah it was definitely not something you would expect as far as hiking in San Diego. It was very lush! I can imagine this is the best place to hike in the spring because it probably gets really green there! Thanks for watching bro!

      You hit the perfect time; the last few weeks have been uncharacteristic hot and no relief in sight!

    I can’t believe you did this in July. This used to be a minute from where my old apartment was. And it is HOT in PQ. PQ= penasquitos. Have you done Elfin Forest??? That’s my #1 favorite hike

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  3 года назад

      Yes I absolutely hate hiking in hot weather. Even in the mid 70s & 80 is a lot for me. I made the exception on this hike lol. No I have never actually heard of the Elfin Forest hike. I will totally have to look that up. When this coronavirus stuff is all over with I want to definitely do more hiking in San Diego. On my to-do list Potato Chip Rock, Eagle Rock, Goat Canyon and Cowles Mountain. My favorite place to hike so far in San Diego has been Torrey Pines. Thanks for checking out more videos of mine 😀👍.

    Walking on these trails is nice and have in mind that horse poops are preferable compared to those from cows. Although either would not mar the nature beauties in that marvelos reserve. As a native Bulgarian hiker, (that is as somebody who has been hiking for decades in a very beautiful place what Bulgaria is), I am sure the Penasquitos Reserve is a "must ramble in area" for not only Americans regardless of age or abilities. Thank you San Diego people and Californians for having and maintaining that piece of Paradise. I appreciate every second of my stay here. ( Written by Ivan Iliev from Bulgaria).

    Beautiful hike, minus the poo! ;) The scenery is lovely - looks almost Australian sometimes!

    Wow, this trail is gorgeous! Shade is always nice when it's mid 70s. Love the little lizard! The creek is fantastic. The horse poop is not great though - kind of like in Grand Canyon 🐴💩🙊 And just as predicted, you saw horses 🙈 Another awesome hike with you Eric! 😄🙌👍

      Within Hiking Distance Thank you so much. It was a nice little osias in the middle of heavily populated San Diego. Really glad you enjoyed this video. It was a great solo hike for me.:-)

    Ahhh Penasquitos Canyon. I got a severe case of poison oak on that trail. Went through some bushes I should not have. LOL. Great video format. A lot of vlogging mixed in with cinematic views. I think a lot of viewers are going to enjoy this side of you. Great job brother.👍👍👍

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  6 лет назад

      50Tube that poison oak experience sounds horrible! Yeah I am glad you liked the Vlogging and cinematics in this video and I would like to make more videos this way in the future. Thanks for the great feedback. Enjoy your weekend my friend.

    Yeah, that wasn't much of a waterfall, lol. Oh well. Maybe it was for SoCal :p. You were right! You did see some horses!

    Is the grave stone still on the left side of the trail, towards the beginning ? Haven’t lived there in 30 years

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  5 лет назад

      I don't remember seeing any gravestones as trail. I could have just missed it though.

      Yes, Eichar is still there and is located closer to the eastern entrance. Over the years they've respectfully cleaned up the site and installed a memorial plaque

    I understand about the horses, I've hiked a couple trails here where horses go on also, dog owners have to pick up but not the horse riders (I understand that their poo is biodegradable but still when fresh not pleasing) other than that cool hike

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  6 лет назад

      Craig Betts yeah so you know what I am talking about. I'm always worried I'm gonna accidentally step into it and bring it to my car. But yeah still a cool hike being smack dab in the middle of extremely populated San Diego. Thanks for checking out another video my friend!
