    About us:
    We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.

    Have you stayed at Cosy Corner near Albany. 7 days free camping. Albany has free showers, dump site and water, so seems to be catering for people who are free camping in the area. We also stayed out at Frenchman Bay after seeing other vans staying overnight unofficially.

      The showers and fresh water are a drive into town, but Cosy Corner campsite has clean drop toilets and dump point. Also walking trails.

    Nice built and also great videos and tips. So, after 6 months of troopy life...what would you change about your built especially inside and what would you always do exactly the same way again?

    • @itsJackandMegan
      @itsJackandMegan  3 года назад +1

      Hi mate thanks for watching.
      We would always have the U shape setup but we would look at a lighter material possibly aluminium. Have the fridge towards the front seats to take the weight away from the rear.
      Other than that I cannot fault it. We are so happy with it. All the time we put into really thinking what we needed to suit our needs payed of.

    Hi guys - so many questions ;) but are you super happy with your troopey and would you consider/recommend any other vehicle? Checked out alucab roof conversion - would you 100% recommend the conversion now or just stick to RTT normal way! 🤗😜

    • @itsJackandMegan
      @itsJackandMegan  3 года назад +1

      We would 100% recommend the conversion we used to have a rooftop tent on the troopy and hated having to climb down ect. Being able to stand up get changed, eat inside the troopy while the weather is bad we could just go on and on haha😂 completely worth the investment. It was only the other day we were talking about what other vehicle we would choose and the only other one would be a Toyota coaster bus with 4wd conversion or a Mercedes sprinter 4x4 but they would cost so much $$$ in saying that in those vehicles you still would not be able to get to where the troopy is able to. 😊

      1999-2006 troopys came out with two different engines both diesel, and have since proven themselves. One has a turbo the 1hdtfte and the other is a non turbo 1hz (we have the 1hz)
      The 1hdtfte troopys are in my books the best you can get but are extremely expensive and rare $50,000-$65000. They provide very good power.
      The 1hz engine is a very proven engine and known to tackle the harsher conditions, they just keep going and going.
      You would want something within the kms of 100,000-350,000 with service history. These engines are proven to go well over 1million kms with the right servicing.
      The 1999-2006 models have a nicer suspension setup at the front (coil springs) instead of leaf spring like the earlier models which have a much rougher ride 1985-1998.
      A 2000-2006 with the 1hz is what I would recommend. You will not have any problems at all prices range from $20,000 $39,000.
      Then if you wanna get really fancy there’s the 2007- 2021 vdj troopys- a v8 turbo Diesel engine but involve much more electronics ect but a very proven motor once again. $70,000-100,000.
      Toyotas are built with quality parts and not much goes wrong they are built to last 😂😊 happy to answer absolutely any questions Jenny.
