I would say that “No Time To Die” was the most personal look at James Bond and was very deep into his journey with Madeline. So it felt like the mission was just something to keep him occupied. Even the single of the same name, by Billie Eilish; which was awesome she got to do that and was excellent. What an Honor. That song is very personal in depth and reflects an element of finality to it in a somber tone. It’s a different feel from the typical bond songs we get. The villain wasn’t personal to him as was to Madeleine. Blowfeld was a personal villain to Bond hence he killed Bond’s parents. Had their encounter been more intense, such as with Silva in “Skyfall”, “Spectre” may have been more impactful. I try not to label “No Time To Die” as the glorified “Quantum of Solace”, because it isn’t that. “No time to Die” was much more engaging and Dominic Green was a little bitch.
Awesome review man, I don't get why No Time To Die gets hate from Bond fans? Just because it takes risks and is different doesn't mean it's bad. I personally adore this movie with every fibre in my being it's my all time favourite Bond movie, forget 10/10 this movie deserves a 11/10. Daniel Craig is at his best, the Bond girls kick ass more than ever particularly Paloma, Safin is the best Bond villain period and that epic climax and ending had me crying like a baby. Also Billie Eilish's theme song is perfection!
Couldn’t have agreed with you more, saw a few other film critics praise it at first and I felt like an outlier but glad to know you see it similarly. Not a fan of bond being a continuous daniel craig story. I enjoy how prior to Craig, they essentially starting fresh every movie!
I would love to see Ana De Armas somehow get her own spin-off from this film. Her fighting style was awesome and I would love to see that character more.
BrandoCritic you’re absolutely correct I feel the same way this is not what you want to see in a bond movie the only good thing about this movie is that they can’t do it again I think it’s gonna backfire. READ BELOW BIG Mistake to make that move at the end. Also IMO I think it should be Henry Cavill next he’s the 4th Runner up just like Roger Moore Tim Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were all runner up before playing bond. He would also be the 3rd already popular actor to play bond the first being Roger Moore and Brosnan
NO TIME TO DIE: This new Bond movie was SENTIMENTAL TRASH. Daniel Craig is very good in it. The Production is great. But....They hired a girl writer to SOFTEN BOND and let me tell you, THIS MOVIE IS HORRIBLE AND OVERLY SUGARY!!! It's A girlie film! Meant to sensitize Bond. It de-emasculated Bond and de-mystified him in all the wrong ways. This movie's last hour was no better than a day time tele-novella. I liked the new 007 woman, only because 1. SHE WAS CHARASMATIC 2.) WAS NOT A SCRAWNY, 95 pound white girl, scissor kicking her way around MEN TWICE HER SIZE. THIS GIRL WAS BEEFY. 3.) The movie didn't emphasize her. But What they did to Bond was absolutely despicable. NEWSFLASH: THEY KILLED HIM and HE DIDN'T EVEN PUT UP A FIGHT!!! The REAL BOND FIGHTS TILL THE END!!!! The PRODUCERS AND WRITERS SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH A CRIME. The limp waisted millennials that like this movie: Are beta males.
As a diehard Bond fan, I agree with most of your points, but here are my two cents: The problem with the film is that it fails as a James Bond film, period. Apart from maybe Skyfall, the Craig era of Bond films have largely tried to extend the narrative established in Casino Royale, which goes to show you that the filmmakers have a hard time trying to come up with something original beyond Fleming's work. What results is a film that tries too hard to bookend the Craig era, with every attempt made to let the audience know that, yes, this is Daniel Craig's last Bond film That brings me to the main point of contention that has divided fans, and the question you have to ask yourself is: "Was it really necessary?" What good did it serve the narrative? Does the narrative suffer had they not done what they did? I don't think so. Bond actors come and go, but the character lives on, and we always see the words, "James Bond will return" on screen after the credits roll no matter who's suiting up in the tux. The point of a "Bond" film is that you can start with any film and just sit back, relax, and enjoy a 2-hour standalone narrative involving exotic locations, silly villains, gorgeous women, cool gadgets, impressive action set pieces, and that trademark tongue-in-cheek humor you get from a Bond film. Does this film have some of those things? Sure, but it's all within a bloated film that often takes itself too seriously and is far too melodramatic and sentimental for a Bond film. Clocking in at nearly 3 hours, this is a film that desperately needed more time in the editing room. I mean, did we really need the final act to end on that island (which was unimaginative as far as set design goes). Couldn't we have just ended things in the woods, which was far more interesting as an action set piece than anything on that island? It reminded me of Spectre, and how unnecessary it was to go back to England for the final act after Bond and Madeleine escape from Blofeld's lair. As far as the action goes, you're right, there was nothing there that really impressed me. There's a lot of it, but the filmmakers emphasized quantity here over quality. There wasn't a single action scene (apart from maybe the opening car chase) that felt complete and exhilarating. Most of the action was comprised of shooting tons of bad guys with pinpoint accuracy. The final act, especially, felt like it was a level out of a video game. Bond films in the past have been know for impressive and creative stunt work, but the stunts in this film were almost mechanical in nature, justifying the expensive budget but not in an efficient and effective manner. One last thing I want to touch on is the music. Why are the filmmakers so shy of playing the Bond theme? It's as if they are embarrassed by it, and even when we do hear hints of it, it's so unnecessarily altered that it barely resembles the theme at all! They need to bring back David Arnold. Clearly, Thomas Newman and Hans Zimmer were not cut out to score a James Bond film, and we need the theme back in a big way for the reboot of this franchise, as do a lot of other things that make a James Bond film a James Bond film.
Casino Royale is my favorite but skyfall is really close. I enjoyed no time to die. Loved the ending. Glad they made some bold choices and it's not another james bond movie.
Thank you for your review. Will definitely see it. Is it really 2hrs 43 min???? Better sip my drink rather than drink the whole thing. No restroom break for me :)
The ending overshadowed the whole film for me. I left the Cinema and thought what is next for Bond? That ending Made the Film kind of "irrelevant". It will not bee rememberd for it's Plot or villain, only for the ending. My favourite call back was the Delectado cigar in Bonds House. And yes Ana de Armas was great im this.
@@BrandoCritic By irrelevant I mean everything I saw was destroyed by that ending. Nothing after you have seen it matters, all I could think of was "What is next for JB?". I can't even say if I liked the film or not because of the ending. It overshadows everything. If you do a review with spoilers, I go into more detail what's in my head about this film.
I like this movie. But, this movie is like halfway it’s okay but later it gets good and then you don’t know if it’s good or okay even though it’s my first James Bond movie
Im atleast happy that this movie turn out to be good, but im gonna really gonna miss Daniel Craig as James Bond and we will see who will be next James Bond. Great review Brandon and take care and stay safe 👍.
As a Bond fan, I really liked this movie. Some issues though. Action didnt feel as strong as previous Bond films. Villain was very good but was so underused. Overall, had a great time. I might go see it a second time
No time to die, Daniel Craig’s final Bond movie sucks! Bond is an emotional wreck and Bond is no longer a womanizer, a man’s man type of personality either. He still tough but is sort of bizarre personality of a twenty something now. Bad ending too! ☹️👎. Ladies who usually swooned on James Bond left the theater in shock!😝
What is your favourite Daniel Craig James Bond adventure?
I agreed with everyhing you said. I didnt like it as much as the others. I liked all of his other movies more than this one.
Skyfall ✊Skyfalll ✊Skyfall ✊
Casino Royale
Skyfall because they had a bit of flashbacks to the older ones and because Javier Bardem is Amazing as Raoul Silva

100% agree with your opinion. My favorite Bond film is Skyfall. Not only does it tell a fantastic story, and great villain, it has an amazing song!

Now that the hype has slightly died down, I’ve started to enjoy this way more. I think it was fantastic.
I liked it more my second time around... still don't like the ending
