Dear Robert, thanks for the playlist. I really like the sound of the rubber bridge. I wait for your solution to adapt a normal guitar and thus be able to feel the effect live. As for Madison Cunningham, I agree with you: a great great artist, a hope for the future of the music I love. Ciao 👍👍👍👍👍
Ciao, Alessandra. Sono felice di sapere che la musica di Madison Cunningham è arrivata a Padova! La mia canzone preferita di rubber bridge è "Life According to Rachael." Assolutamente bellissimo e pieno di rimpianti...
True about Nick Drake. I was just listening to Pink Moon the other day and wondering how old his strings were while recording that album. LOL Thanks for watching, Emil.
I’m fairly certain I read that Agustin Barrios Mangore used metal strings and a rubber bridge saddle on classical guitar, but can’t be sure the source was reliable. But nylon strings and a rubber bridge? Only one way to find out.

I just picked one up from Orangewood. It’s really retro looking and sounds awesome. I’m glad you provided a rubber bridge play list. It will give me ideas for my own songs.
Love the video and the inspiration you were able to take from my Spotify playlist! Working on my own rubber bridge build. Hope I can get it to sound as good as yours!
Thanks for saying hi, Jonah! If it was YOUR Rubber Bridge playlist that I used as a basis for mine, then THANK YOU profusely. Please check back in once you get your RB guitar working. I'd love to hear it! 😍🌟🎼
I've been playing for 30 years and have always liked deader-sounding acoustic guitars; to the point that I wouldn't change strings on some of mine for years. There's been a particular sound in my head for decades and I finally heard it when I saw Madison Cunningham playing a rubber-bridge guitar. That got me started down this rabbit hole and led me here. Now I think I'm going to convert one of my acoustics that's been just sitting around. While I'm here I will note that Madison is a freak of nature in the best way possible. Her songwriting is brilliant, her voice mesmerizing and her playing impeccable. Listening to her leaves me feeling beguiled and useless all at once. She's so good it's unbelievable.
Nice to connect with a fellow Madison fan, Helman. For me, Life According to Rachael is one of the most achingly beautiful songs ever written and recorded. In case you haven't seen my other rubber bridge videos, I did one sharing 3 easy, non-invasive ways to emulate the sound: ruclips.net/video/BP22R6goNro/видео.html And I did an actual rubber bridge conversion of my 1958 Stella parlor guitar: ruclips.net/video/EMnHyfQv26o/видео.html Cheers!

I'm still experimenting, but very happy with some easy options. The first thing I tried cost me $3 and got me 90% of the way to rubber bridge nirvana! Thanks for watching, Patrick.
Rubber bridges have been on my radar for a little while. I've always chosen my acoustic guitars for maximum sustain. But I bought an open back banjo from OME in Boulder when I moved there in '06 and fell in love with the plunky, dead sound. I'm looking forward to your parts list because I have 2 candidates for consideration. A new Yamaha parlor guitar & my older Guild T-50 Slim. I'm curious to see if the Yamaha has an undersaddle pickup, because replacing the saddle with rubber might defeat the pickup. Hmmm.
I’m glad you’re intrigued, Jon. Either one of those guitars is a good candidate. I’m gonna share a couple ways to get the sound without any modifications to the guitar, so you can audition ‘em both.
"This is the dumbest thing I've ever h-.." Gears churning... "Babe, I'll be right back." Goes to get Stella out of closet, a pair of scissors, and a bicycle tube... Plink plink plink plink... An hour later, my wife- "The TV is still paused, are we going to watch anything else?" 😀

I can understand it's not for everyone. I tend to like rubber bridge guitars best when they're paired with other non-RB guitars and instruments. It may help NOT to think of it as a guitar since it sounds more like a harp or pizzicato orchestral stringed instrument. What kind of guitar tone do you like, Barry?
@RobertCassard yes, it's got the the quicker decay, like a uke, with a bigger box, and all the super high bright frequencies are gone. It resembles nylon strings, but it only goes that far. There are no overtones. Could be a neat gimmick for some recordings. It would not be my staple sound. Bone is tone and it's still true.
