My father likes to use these flap discs to 99% it seems, and one day while in a hurry, I picked up his grinder that has one of those discs that looked like 80% of it was used. So I started grinding, and I must have hit a sharp piece of metal when a piece of the disc detached going through my overalls and into my thigh. They don't seem like it, but even the small piece of emery cloth can cause a lot of damage when launched from a spinning disc. I was aware of how dangerous angle grinders are, but never expected the lightweight piece of flap to carry so much kinetic energy.
    Keep safe.

An angle grinder is one of the most dangerous tools. I had a chip in my eye once myself, now I only use the grinder with goggles and a dust mask.

@@SILVESTROThingS Had a needle like piece of metal stuck right in my eye too, the doctor had to use a hypodermic needle to literally dig it out. And I still have a small piece of that carbon fiber (could be glass fiber) stuck in the corner of my eye since 2017. Definitely a dangerous tool when used carelessly.

@@anelpasic5232 For the 2 dollars that the disc is worth, why even try this? They aren't designed to be used in this way. Ive had enough stuff flying around the shop to even contemplate doing this. It hurts, and you've only got one set of eyes!
