    R&B singer, Robert Sylvester Kelly, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on the 29th of June 2022. This followed his conviction last year of federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges which stemmed from years of his efforts to use his fame to manipulate and ensnare victims that he would then SA.
    The prosecution had originally only asked for 25 years; however, another five years was added to the sentence reflecting the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York who wrote to the judge handling Kelly’s case,
    “In light of the seriousness of the offenses, the need for specific deterrence and the need to protect the public from further crimes of the defendant…the government respectfully submits that a sentence in excess of 25 years is warranted.” They went on to accuse the singer of “relying on his fame, money, and popularity as an R&B recording star…to both carry and conceal his crimes,”
    Here is my analysis of his body language and that of the lawyers involved in the case.

      I want to say this could differ based on location and slang. Probably mostly because I just noticed I typically use Guy/Girl when referring to someone. Even if I was conversing with someone and I mentioned “Yeah, I’ve been talking to this new girl and I think she’s great.” To me, that IS and sounds harmless but then again as you said if you’re being interviewed for alleged underage involvement I would quickly remove that slang/term from my vocab. Kelly isn’t known to be the smartest (if I recall correctly he actually can’t read) but youd think someone he’s paying all that money to would have pointed out “keywords” to avoid to him. Maybe I also just need to upgrade my vocabulary and lingo as well 😅

      @reginarainer9740 2 года назад

      @@alleykitten214 I believe so yes, or turn down a request from an interviewer or vice versa. A lot of times it’s to promote something or another, which is why you’ll see a lot of celebs in late night shows like The Daily Show. Some of time the questions are also vetted beforehand by both parties so the questions can be prepared. Not all the time or even most of the time (e.g. I doubt very much that Edward Snowden would have consented to seeing John Olivier’s dick during his interview about government spying, or that R. Kelly would have consented to most of the questions asked by Gayle King)
      In this case he was trying to do damage control for his reputation and refute the (then) allegations of abuse. I think he chose her because he thinks he can easily dominate and control all women and she had the reputation best suited for his goals. Of course it didn’t work out the way he wanted, Gayle King is an experienced, intelligent interviewer in a professional setting and not a teenager/woman in her early 20’s without much life experience who has been manipulated and coerced by him.

    Couple of things verbally - “there are real women and girls out there…” the implication being that there are ‘real’ victims out there and he doesn’t see his accusers as such.
    When asked what the lawyer can tell the public to show he is not guilty; she only attacks the RICO charges as being inappropriate, essentially acknowledging his guilt but saying it happened within the confines of ‘relationships’ rather than him being a trafficker (which the enterprise charges cover).

      It would be interesting to see what body language gave the person away even after years of watching Observe. Maybe instead of two truths and lie, the person could do a mock interview with someone they trust about themselves but the information could be true or completely. Logan could analyze the tells he sees and the interviewee reveals at the end of they were telling a real story or not.

    I dislike the gendering language. “Protect our innocents.” Or “protect those in vulnerable situations.” Those would be much better. I wish we as a society would stop using gendered language for victims of SV/DV. Adult men and adult non-binary individuals can be victims and survivors too.
