- First and foremost, I must give a huge thanks to Mark Soto "Blaz" for making such an AMAZING remake of the Castle theme from Super Mario World! It's the whole reason I did this short.

With all that said, I LOVE Super Mario World, it's my favorite 2D Mario game by far. It starting off the next, arguably greatest era of gaming so flawlessly and introduced my favorite charcter: Yoshi!
The song really lead in for perfect storyboarding: the slow intro for entering the creaking castle doors and wandering around, and as it gets more amped up the challenges get more exciting, just like the game! Personally, my favorite scene's are rooms 2 and 5, cuz the environments and character animation really get to shine. Also, the first couple seconds were fun too, because it's "shot for shot" of what happens before entering a fortress.

There is some humor in Mario being depicted as a jerk, but it’s nice to see him shown as the classic good guy he is.
mario.... isnt the good guy tho. Even the creators of Mario admitted that he isnt the 'good guy'. He just has a crush on a princess and will commit genocide if it means staying on her good side....
But bowser literally committed the offense first? If he didn’t kidnap peach then Mario wouldn’t have “committed genocide,” as you put it.

to be fair most enemies attack him before he attacks them, plus Bowser *did* kidnap the princess against her will. Mario is just saving his crush, despite the casualties. He may not be a "good guy" but he certainly isn't a psychopathic genocidal maniac.

I remember this animation. It was AWESEOME. And it actually show that Mario is really a hero who's actually trying to protect Yoshi from the dangers in the castle.

Yeet I thought there was gonna be a joke at the end that had Bowser yelling at a Kamek/Koopa Troopa saying, “Who left the front door open?!”
This showed how hard it was, or how it looked for Mario in his adventure back in Super Mario World. This shows that Mario didn't give up, no matter how hard it looked. Super Mario World, is the best Mario game before Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey. The music fit the animation in a way I never knew. This animation is something to be admired about. This animation truly never ceases to disappoint.

I absolutely agree super Mario world was my childhood game along with super Mario 3 nothing beats them they are made so well. Also Mario 64 I never completely but enjoyed nonetheless.

I kinda cheesed my way to the end.... once i found that key to the star world, and that other secret level inside that big cave, i jumped past like 4 world sections to get to the castle.... and then i just kept trying doors until i found i could reach the bows in lke 3-4 doors. and then, i just trial and errored spamming buttons at the boss fight.

Well Mario has gone through worse situations then this but I can tell you that the castle theme in super Mario world it’s beyond the best and also the most evil theme in existence like yeah we have new super Mario bros castle themes but their not even close to super Mario world but what I love the most is that Mario world is simple like you put the game in and start playing not like nowadays where it’s like guides every time you try do something but I do hope that Nintendo actually does some remakes cuz if you remember the snes had tons of great games that I personally think deserves a remake but I really do want them to remake super Mario sunshine cuz it’s one my all time favorite super Mario game ever madr

This was SO BADASS AND AWESOME! I’ll admit I felt left hanging at the end, but the art style and highlights were so interesting.
I remember seeing this video about 6 or 7 years ago (man time flies). I was, and still am, a HUGE Mario fan and I was amazed by this animation and the quality of it at the time.
So yeah, this video is one of my biggest inspirations for pursuing animation as a hobby and potential career.

When ever I’m upset or discouraged, I’ll come back to watch this. This is the Mario I have always thought of. My favorite part was when the chuck quad huddled Mario, and he just powered up.

I haven't seen this animation for years, at some point I even thought it got deleted or something, but from the moment I saw it it got stuck with me and every time I hear the Super Mario World Castle Theme I think about this animation.
Excellent work, it takes a lot of work to mark someone as this animation did to me, now finally I will leave my like to never ever lose this video again.
This was exactly the type of animation I wanted to do when I was older: syncing the music, no black outlines on Mario, and THOSE EYES!!

I watched this a very long time ago and i just love the song, and animation. Im a hard core fan of the old games. Although I play the newer games I'm 14 going on 15 and i still enjoy the old games with my family. Mario was the first game we've ever played, it's a big part of our childhood so thank you for this!

When I was little I played old Mario games, my dad had given us a system which was old as well. I cant remeber what it was called but you played a flute to summon a tornado, and it was another one where at the end you hit a box to get a star,mushroom, etc, I still play those today.

When I saw the title, I was expecting the video to focus on Yoshi. I'm a little disappointed that this did not happen. But on the other hand, this was a wonderful tribute to Iwata and I know for a fact that he would be proud.
