GREAT IDEA! I never thought to put two layers of plastic down so you could remove one and still have another clean layer below it PLUS more protection for the floor
Paul, I am a construction manager for Starbucks Florida Region , I do my own work at home so I guess DIYer, your videos are excellent. If you need practice, I just pulled my skylights and they need to be filled in and textured, I am in NSB. 😀
New to doing my own jobs been in construction for while this is niche i like tho. So i been doing my first popcorn job then use them photos to promote myself. Thanks for everything you do and show us it helpsssss alot!
I have wood floors, Need this done on my 3 Bedroom Home, Do you cover the floors and painted walls as well? Also do you cover the kitchen counters, island, etc? I need this done Near Melbourne. I also want an old overhang in the living room removed do you take care of that as well?
If your ceiling have been painted(Sealed)... its not that easy... unpainted.. its that easy... the... the real work starts... addressing taped seams... depending on texture, if any... that can take some time
Hey Paul, I watched some of your other videos, and I gotta say they're super informative and great. I left a comment on a few of the other videos, but for this project... I'm doing something similar. Did you mud / prime the ceiling before repaiting or applying mew texture?
Thanks for the video Paul! I have a question related to removing popcorn. Is there a way to even out my popcorn that I already applied to the ceiling that has a few uneven portions in the texture, but its already completely dry? Is there a way to scrape it gently to even out the texture without having to remove the whole ceiling of popcorn texture? Thanks!
dIYer here. Wasn't sure when my popcorn was applied so I sent it off to be tested. Not asbestos. Even though I haven't yet removed it, it's still peace of mind know.
@@PaulPeck Yes it was,, I'd see Seth and his brother and sister, there's 4 or 5 of them when I'd take the kids to Sandys to surf. The Moniz kids would be coached by their dad Tony.
✅ Don't scrape your painted popcorn ceiling. SKIM COAT IT!!! ruclips.net/video/grtXQzevuNE/видео.html

Should have watched this first! My home was built in 1980. Asbestos was banned in Canada in 1985. Got the home kit after scraping one room...
Let me know the how the test results turnout.👍🏻
I'm a plumber. I like watching videos about how the other trades do it. Keep it up!
I've learned so much from Paul. He's a great teacher.
Thank you so much Scully!💥😎 I really appreciate your kind words my friend!🙏

The double layer of plastic is so smart. I'm a semi-retired diy part time handyman . Still learning. Seem to never be able to fully retire.
Smart strategy especially using the plastic on the floor. Nice presentation.
Very beautiful sharing ❤ 😍 💕 thanks

This is exactly how I did it when I had my business
Great videos dude. Just found your channel a few weeks ago and really appreciate all the tips and tricks.
*Wow! Just A Little Bit of Water 💧 & Little Bit of Muscles 💪🏻 Is All It Takes!?! Great Job Paul 👏🏻 As Always! Yes I’m A DIYer!*

They primed over the mudded ceiling before popcorn. Would I skim coat over that or just skip coat over the removed popcorn onto the primed ceiling?
Any suggestions on removing a "stomped" textured finish? In need of repairing cracks and would like to change the ceiling to a smooth finish.
Electric sander then skim coat it
Sir, if popcorn test positive for asbestos, but was painted can I skim coat the ceiling over popcorn still?

Will this work on a wall?
How can you tell if pop corn has been painted or not. I want to get rid of mine but I’m not sure if I should scrape or skim coat it.
How are you going to fill in the big holes where the phone jack use to be?
If the popcorn contained asbestos would it be best to just cover with 1/4 inch sheet rock?
I just did my ceiling I sprayed with water let it sit for a couple min then scrape was coming down easy
You got lucky, it wasnt PAINTED! If its painted, it's a different story all together.

Wow what a great job!!! Do you plastic that and finish up before lunch🍔
Sure beats surfing for a living 😂

Had to remove painted popcorn last week in my 1973 home. What a pain that was. Now i got all kindsa loose ceiling paper to deal with bleh
I'm going to have to do my living room, probably going to do a skim coat rather than removal.
👍👍👍
best tip I've got for dealing with the miserable shit is WEAR A HAT!
I’m a DIYer as long as there is a contractor doing the work 😂
