Later on they see Little My give Snufkin a gift, so they assume the letter's for Snufkin, but Little My only gave the gift because it was expected for the Fennel Festival, the equivalent of Valentine's Day. Sniff later tells Snufkin that Little My gave the present to Snufkin with love. Snufkin's put off by that and replies that it's just an annual thing. Snorkmaiden gets angry at him because she thinks he's dismissive of Little My's feelings for him. Snufkin's confusion makes them realize they were wrong. Little My wasn't able to explain anything because her throat was too sore to speak. It's chaotic lmao
