- In this video from the February 2020 Valentine's Intensive in Malibu, CA, John answers the question, "If something doesn't feel good, can I still connect and be open?"
Many feminine beings express that they want to be more open and available for connection, even if the expression of the truth of their heart is, "I want to scratch their eyes out," and they want to be able to communicate that in such a way that it doesn't hurt their partner.
In order to do this, you need to discern what is a legitimate lack of presence or trustability from your partner in the moment versus what is a residue of your childhood programming and the history of your relationship.
Your value as a feminine partner lies in your authentic responsiveness to your masculine partner's consciousness in the moment. You can actually make your partner more grounded, present and conscious in the moment through the sensation-based responsiveness of your heart and body.
More often than not, feminine beings will choose to "process" their emotional experiences rather than respond in the moment, but processing typically involves history and leads to a decision to withhold their heart's truth. The choice to respond in the moment, rather than relate from history takes discipline and a true devotion to love.
The modern woman is so articulate, capable, insightful and able to lead, so this work of responsiveness through the non-verbal communication of your body is an overcompensation to retrain your body to be a part of the conversation. If you need to use words, bringing a few sentences with your full-bodied expression can create a powerful combination.
