Electroshock Therapy for the Soul I think the show does a good job of mirroring the doctor with their regeneration. Eccleston’s exit upbeat and hopeful as his doctor had been the PTSD doctor, Tennant with his jumping into every situation with enthusiasm, alonzy, etc, while his last moments are quite and emotional as he doesn’t want to go. Matt Smith who is jovial and child like having a profound and mature send off.
Ryan Denoven it’s a different type of emotion since David’s character had so much to do still, he only regenerated to save Donnas father so it seem so unfair. He didn’t want to go. For Matt he accepted what was gonna happen, he accepted that he was gonna be a new person. For me David’s was more emotional because he didn’t want to go, he was put in a position in which forced to go. Not only that, but he went through it all by himself with no one there to be with him. No Rose, no Martha, no donna, no jack no Sarah jane, nobody. He made sure they were all okay but he went out alone unlike Matt who had Clara and Amy’s memory and Eccelston who had Rose with him.
Oh, that farewell speech. It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect. Seriously, Peter Capaldi is my favourite Doctor. Absolute champion with the best Doctor character build, best individual story, best acting... Love him. Even in bad episodes he saves it just by being The Doctor. Can't wait till you react to his amazing performance
In my opinion Capaldi's Doctor has the greatest character arc of any character on any TV series, ever. Certainly the best I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
Completely agree with you. I thought he had a hard time in his first year with the Doctor who fans but in the end people love him just like they always do.
That was so quick because he used all the energy to destroy dalek fleet and regenerated whats left. Thats why he didnt remembered anything. That was the temporary cost.
And there was me just thinking it was the "reset" and what happens when granted a new life cycle. As neither of us are timelord biologists I guess it can be whatever reason the viewer wants it to be.
@@mattjcole908 I thought he meant healed. Because when 10 started to regenerate he reset himself too by healing his wounds first and then later regenerated. I think when time lords regenerate they are healing deformation first and then fully change.
@@sertan138 ah see I thought ten started regeneration and just held it back while visiting all his past companions then when he finally let go, bang it was off the scale. Others say its the energy he absorbed to free wilf that made 10's regeneration overkill. I suppose its just viewer interpretation.
As for 11 to 12 being so QUICK THE who REGENERATION is the bit on the roof to CALPALDI appearing including eating, the phone call seen in DEEP BREATH and we don't know how long it was CLARA took to get back to the TARDIS after all the devastation so 11 must have held it back like someone needing the loo HENCE the quick final change to 12
It is sad because as the Doctor looks into that mechanical face with lights blinking off, we see him contemplating his own end as well, so then we do...all in conjunction with the sun going out...Matt was just excellent at nailing those symbolic moments.
And now it's time for one last bow Like all your other selves Elevens hour is over now The clock is striking twelves 😢That was a real stab in the chest!!!

@@JustSoShayla Yup! Absolutely! Even without seeing you cry I rarely keep my eyes dry when watching theese scenes but seeing you really turns open the faucets in my eyes.
this episode absolutely broke me. i was quietly but intensely holding back the tears in the back of my living room on christmas day when it aired in 2013 and i still highly value this episode. it’s so beautifully done and matt and jenna absolutely smashed it. but be ready for such a ride with 12. of all new who doctors, he is my top favourite
Capaldi reminds me so much of Pertwee... they both embody equal measures of rage, wrath, and impertinence. I think that's a good part of what makes him my favorite. The self doubt early on followed by doing "whatever the hell he wants and not giving a damn" as if he's answerable to no-one shows growth in his character across the whole story-arc that generally you don't see in other doctors. He also reminds me of Batman. "It's not about what's easy. It's about doing what's right because it's right and that's the only reason you need." should sound KIND of familiar. I know, I know... spoilers.
Raggedy man, goodnight. The part that gets me everytime is obviously when he pulls out his bowtie. When I first watch this episode I was bawling for at least 30 minutes and I just kept rewinding because I didn't want him to change and I wanted to hear what he was saying lol Edit: fun fact I have that noise as my ringtone!

Well, there's the end of an era. I probably cried as much as you, to be honest, but the upside is you're now watching the 12th doctor! He was the first one I saw on tv, and he is *my* doctor, and as much as I do and you will miss 11, I'm really excited for Twelve!
Shayla should save the real tears for when the doctor reaches his 13th incarnation where the doctor becomes completely unrelatable and See's a decline which made everything doctor who great
The tears will continue but so will the joy! I love your reactions to this show and its clear that you love this show. Your reactions are amazing, you have fast become my favourite reactor. Genuinely cant wait for Deep Breath!
@@DalekWindmill im definitely in the minority when I say that Peter is my fav doctor and moffat era is my favorite era. Ye some of the writing isnt the greatest but it definitely beats season 11 and for me 1-3 as well
Oh I cannot even begin to say how annoying it is to see people rip on Moffatt. The man was a genius. You people are directly responsible for Chibnall. It's your fault it sucks now. Moffatt is a God.
And now for my personal favourite Doctor, while many may not like the Capaldi Era I personally LOVE what he brings to the role and how he portrays the 12th Doctor
I don't know why, but that scene with the Doctor and the Silence 'standing back-to-back' really gets me. The man knows how to fight a war, and fight it in style.
We all change, when you think about it. We are all different people all through our lives and that's okay, that's good you've got to keep moving so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me...
i thought it was a really nice touch that the interior of the Cybership shown @3:56 had design elements from 1967's "Tomb of the Cybermen". What a nice visual throwback for those of us that would notice!
To past Shayla, you made it to the most devastating(up to this point) beautiful speech and regeneration we have ever seen. I hope you took time after this to renew your soul before you embarked on 12(and yes I know you already started series 8)
I just discovered this channel and watched you react to 10s regeneration first. Then worked my way to this. Matt Smith was my doctor. Hes where i started, and his regeneration is one of the very few times ive legitimately cried at a piece of entertainment. As much as i love 10, 11 will always hold a special place in my heart
As others have said,it really wasn't abrupt;because his regeneration essentially happened earlier on top of the clock tower. The last part was simply a brief re-set.
This is a heartbreaking episode as Matt’s time as the Doctor is over, and seeing Karen as Amy again is a real kick in the gut! I hope you enjoy the journey with Peter!
Why was this recommended to me, it brought up that same feeling back then. I watched this with my nephew and it took everything I had to keep a straight face.
I cry every single time I watch that, and it's literally the only time in doctor who I have ever gotten emotional. The only other time was at the end of Husband's of River Song, but before that this was the only time. It is quite a kick to the gut, so beautifully done... Matt was my doctor, and always will be. I still miss him as the Doctor.
This video is one of the most relatable things ever, like every single emotion is exactly what most of us felt watching this episode. Ten is still my favourite, but Eleven was my first Doctor and his regeneration was a punch in the stomach, I remember crying every single time I watched it, even just the scene alone. As I once said, your reactions have this special power to bring me back to the first time I watched this amazing show, so thank you for that! I'm so glad you let us be a part of your whovian journey, and I really can't wait for the future reactions, I hope you'll be obsessed with the next stories as much as I am :') ❤
I was stunned when Karen Gillan showed up. Unlike the last special which had advertised Rose and 10 up for months in advance, I dont think anyone knew that Amy was going to be in this special at the time. And yes, that made me cry more than I already was. PS yes Matt had a wig for a good part of this season due to shaving his head for another role.
yup, especially since Karen had to sneak from the of the first Guardians of the Galaxy to film this. Fun fact: they both wearing wigs in this scene, but sadly didn't thought of interchange it with each other.
@@JustSoShayla Sadly they began to spoil some things at the time, which is sad because I have one exemple which is kind of played like a " gotcha " but... it was already revealed x) I imagine it's due to the audiences dropping, but still
"It was like one second, and then it just ended". This is something that we feel all too often as we travel through life. One moment, there is someone you care for always within range of conversation, and then you hear the news. In your mind, they existed until that one second when you find they are gone.
That was absolutely fantastic. I know it's always sad when a regeneration happens, but Capaldi is my absolute favourite Doctor, and season 9 is perhaps my favourite season. I can't wait until you get there!
7:13 Jesus Christ you set me off. You're reactions are absolutely fantastic. So genuine. Makes me emotional because it brings back the feelings of how I felt when I watched it at the time.
My reaction: "Always remember when the doctor was me" -- Tears falling. Karen walks down the stairs -- Flood gates open "Raggedy Man, goodnight," -- on the floor sobbing.
If your wondering why the regeneration was really fast... it was because he used up most of the regeneration energy for that regeneration blowing up the Dalek ships.
He didnt waste regeneration energy. He had a whole new regeneration cycle. a whole another 12 regenerations. There was a lot of energy released. If he used most of his regeneration energy up fighting the Daleks, then how did he get enough regeneration energy to become number 13?
Aw, my heart broke for you. I figured since you anticipating Matt regenerating going into it, it might not be so bad compared to other actors leaving but no, it was really sad. It was the shock and confusion that got to me more than the tears. I hope you're doing okay and I look forward to hearing your thoughts at the start of the next video. On the plus side, I really liked your reaction when you saw the fish fingers and custard. :)
The reason why the regeneration was so fast was he had actually regenerated for the most part on Trenzalore all he needed to do was change his appearance hence why it was so quick
Easily my favourite regeneration scene. The millisecond of hope when you see Matt in the Tardis...he didn't change! Then the crushing realisation. An abrupt change to Twelve, maybe the Doctor should gave learnt by now to regenerate outside the Tardis, it always bloody crashes!
6:12 rule 1 the doctor lies rule 2 everytime the doctor regens your going cry (thanks russel t davis)p.s his speech about changing was very deep and true for life
I've rewatched this episode so many times over the years, but this time... I will admit that you got me Shayla, watching this made me feel like I was watching it for the first time again and I did cry like a baby as well.. again :D
The bit with Handles and the reminder message was so simple yet elegant; so much happens between when he sets it and when Handles reminds him that it feels like it’s been so much longer than it actually has, and Handles has delivered so much important exposition that you’re waiting for a big info drop and have totally forgotten until he says it, and it’s such a tear jerker.
When I watched this episode I cried so much I made a pond (get it?) of tears on my desk and then I blinked and HE was gone. My baby was gone. I couldn't watch the show for like a month cause I was mourning. Anyway after that, I still loved Capaldi with all my heart. Twelve and Clara are my favourite duo of this show
I feel that everyone will always remember when the Doctor was him. Farewell Matt. His speech, at the end... We all change. And that's ok. That's good. We have to keep moving. That's life, right? When you just rambled, at the end... I think we all felt the same, back then, when it all happened... I'll see you next time. Take a Deep Breath, and dive in number 12.
You're going to LOVE Capaldi's 12th Doctor, especially because you took to Clara so quickly. Her dynamic with 11 was quick-witted screwball-fun, but she really comes into her own in her relationship with 12. The next couple of seasons are my personal favorites. Have fun.
There was backlash to Peter Capaldi's casting because he was older, just like there was to Matt Smith's casting because he was younger. No matter what, people have trouble adjusting to change.
She kept asking why it was so fast. answer: he already did the full glowing regeneration when he destroyed the daleks. it was just stuck for the physical regeneration. it was a "reset". His biggest regeneration had a side effect.
I'm sorry Shayla, it was indeed quick. But sometimes you just have to rip the band-aid off and get it over with. I would however like to introduce you to to in my opinion the best doctor Peter Capaldi! Looking forward to seeing you watch him, much love!
It’s a paradox, as it’s the longest and fastest regeneration. You are not alone ( YANA ) lol, we all went through it, and we then had to endure the wait for the of 12. You can jump straight in. That aside great reaction as always, great edit with all the best stuff in. It is on first viewing a little patchy, but it’s worth going back and watching again as story is better than I remembered first time. The “like breath on a mirror” line is heartbreaking it’s a brilliant farewell speech and he delivers it perfectly. Humorous fact both Matt & Karen are wearing wigs as she was filming guardians when the scene was shot. Looking forward to deep breath and that moment. Be gentle on 12, he’s grumpy, but beautiful in his humanity
I thought the reason it happened so quick was because he had to hold it in so hard to say goodbye to Clara that he just couldn't hold it in any longer and 12 just burst out.
Letting go of Matt Smith's Doctor was probably the hardest thing I ever had to do as a Who fan, I actually took a pretty long break from watching the show after this episode because I was so so shook. But trust me, once Capaldi's run really gets going, you'll wonder how any other actor could possibly be The Doctor other than him!
Fun Fact Matt had a buzz cut cause he had been filming Lost River and had also injured his leg while filming the episode which is why in some scenes he doesn't move much and had the cane Karen appearing was purely luck as she just happened to be in the UK filming Guardians of the Galaxy and was also bald so both her and Matt wore wigs for this episode
You’re gonna love Capaldi. He was so unimaginably fantastic as The Doctor. I don’t think the stories were that great, but his lines, how he delivers them, and his chemistry with his companions were absolutely masterful.
Great reaction - I felt like although with David you got upset you seemed to be more lost for words than anything, while this time you seemed to be a lot more emotional and choked. Love your reactions!
@@MichaelM28 I don't mind Jodie. It is Chibnall I would love to see gone. The tone of the series changed beyond what I personally enjoyed, so i haven't gone more than 4 episodes in. Maybe if she were under a different director with different scripts?
You fall in love with the Doctor, and then your heart gets ripped out. Then you fall in love with the Doctor, and.... This is a great show, but it's an emotional rollercoaster. 12 is awesome. You'll love him!
I wish 10, 11, and 12 had stayed a bit longer...I wish they stayed 5-6 years at least. It's hard to go through every three to four years and they used to stay much longer in classic Who.
Beautiful reaction Shayla. But alas.... this is not the last time tears will be a part of Doctor Who. The highs are only offset by the lows. With the clock striking 12, a new time of the Doctor is upon us. Give 12 time. He is VERY different from most other Doctors. Specifially 9, 10 and 11. But it is a welcome change for the most part. Give him time, see it's HIM there in front of you. The Doctor.
Yeah, that's the important part of Twelve, you have to give him time. Which is easier when his stuff is all there to watch end to end without interruptions. I honestly didn't, and quit about halfway through his first season, but then really learned to love him a couple years later, when I finally sat down to watch it all after his stuff was over. Some of his episodes I still feel were TERRIBLE, but the Doctor himself is SO GOOD, Capaldi knocked it out of the park!
@@hellsingmongrel I couldn't agree more. There's a long time to get to Hell Bent and Heaven Sent. The months gaps between seasons, and weeks between eps just didn't allow me to connect to 12 until the rewatches. It didn't help that with 9, 10 and 11 we got used to a certain type of Doctor which we all loved in different ways and amounts. 12 being different was radical for the show. I do feel that the writing in 12's era is erratic at best. But You learn to love it in the end. Nothing will ever compare to Heaven Sent or the end ep's of season 10. But I certainly have a soft spot for the Magicians Apprentice...... Tank
@@luketaylor5848 Yeah, it got rouuuuugh. I won't lie and say he had any of my favorite episodes, but Capaldi's actung was able to drag a few bad episodes out of the dirt by pure charisma alone. And Heaven Sent/Hell Bent are a massive, wild roller coaster from beginning to end! I can't wait to see her react to those! 🤩
@@hellsingmongrel Yeah exact same. There is that mood Peter shows for the Doctor... when he is angry. With 9-11 I feared what the Doctor might dream up to do.... with 12.... I'm quite glad Shayla is reacting to only some eps as it's miss some of the..... less good eps lol. I looking forward to 'that' moment in Listen. At least there's a 'that' moment in most ep's, so no spoilers at least lol

YES! HE’S THE BEST!!
Me too! His whole era was superb... really Miss it ;-)
Indeed greatest new who doctor
As for 11 to 12 being so QUICK THE who REGENERATION is the bit on the roof to CALPALDI appearing including eating, the phone call seen in DEEP BREATH and we don't know how long it was CLARA took to get back to the TARDIS after all the devastation so 11 must have held it back like someone needing the loo HENCE the quick final change to 12
It's foreshadowed in the dialogue. "change so quickly" "like a breath on a mirror."
FEWOOOSH.
The moment when handles dies is even more heartbreaking knowing that he was the Doctors longest companion😢
It is sad because as the Doctor looks into that mechanical face with lights blinking off, we see him contemplating his own end as well, so then we do...all in conjunction with the sun going out...Matt was just excellent at nailing those symbolic moments.
Yeah. Made me cry when Handles died . . . Still get's me
And the Doctor's little shake with Handles. Like "wake up, please". Amazing television that makes you care for a metallic head.
OMG i never even thought of that
Aside from the TARDIS
Dammit! I just sneezed and turn into Peter Capaldi.
I hate when it happens...
I don't see the issue
Not a problem!
"Why am i getting emotional to a cyberman head?"
Doctor Who has a way of making us emotional to robots... XD
Right!
And now it's time for one last bow

😢That was a real stab in the chest!!!
I don't get it....
OWE.
@@QuayNemSorr really, it said hes going to regenerate, 12th is on the way!!
"don't do this to me~~~~"

Oh man here we go. Watching this before bed and im definitely gonna cry again
I always feel a bit weird watching these reactions whn my wife is in the room, but I didn't want to risk waiting and that the video gets taken down again.
Yes...you would think after 20 plus viewings I wouldn't still cry but omg, every time...Matt's final speech...when the writing breaks the fourth wall (I will not forget a single line of this) I'm just balling
Were there tears?
@@JustSoShayla Yup, this episode and rings of akhaten. every single time no matter how often I watch them
@@JustSoShayla Yup! Absolutely!
Even without seeing you cry I rarely keep my eyes dry when watching theese scenes but seeing you really turns open the faucets in my eyes.
They spend 20 minutes on a regeneration sequence ... "Why was that so quick?"
Great reaction!
this episode absolutely broke me. i was quietly but intensely holding back the tears in the back of my living room on christmas day when it aired in 2013 and i still highly value this episode. it’s so beautifully done and matt and jenna absolutely smashed it. but be ready for such a ride with 12. of all new who doctors, he is my top favourite
When I first watch this episode I was bawling for at least 30 minutes and I just kept rewinding because I didn't want him to change and I wanted to hear what he was saying lol
Edit: fun fact I have that noise as my ringtone!
Matt cried himself during the reading of the scene, and had Moffat come over and give him a hug
@@QuayNemSorr I remember seeing a clip of that it really broke my hearts

That slight hint of wanting to laugh, but shock and confusion is too great.
Welcome to the 12th Doctor.
YES! Literally, what went through my head.
Matt Smith turned you around after missing Tennant, trust me, Capaldi will do the same, he's ace
No, Sophie Aldred is Ace. (classic Who joke)
I agree! Capaldi is just amazing
Capaldi is easily the best Doctor in my opinion!
I felt like the writing took a downturn during the capaldi era but he did a good job acting the part.
I thought capaldi was the worst 😬
Eleven will always be my favourite Doctor, he means so much to me.
But fear not because Twelve is truly amazing, Capaldi just embodies the Doctor.
"Thoughts on a clock" by Eric Ritchie Junior
For one the journey had just begun
Old but young his time to come
But soon enough the clock struck two
The face must change the music must too
So two began
And played it cool
To some extent he was a fool
But time it waits
For no one now
The clock ticked on to three and how
A dandy time
Spent three in time
But the hour of four was soon to chime
The longest hour was spent at four
But soon enough the clock crept lower
The dance of four began to jive
Passing the floor from four to five
Five began with great aplomb
But time is like a ticking bomb
For five the times they went to fast
Soon six was blasting from the past
Six was freash and played it well
But didnt hear the ringing bell
The chime that brought it to an end
Signalled seven to start it all again
Dear seven
He gave his all for what
The Time Lords time
It did just stop
The bell did toll
For eight once more
But not for long
In Gallifreyan lore
Like hands of ice
That were frozen in time
The clock thawed once more
And struck number nine
So short was the time
That the clock struck on nine
The adventures were cut short
In space and time
But the clock carried on
With a tick and a tock
And soon it was striking
Upon ten o'clock
The tenth hour was long
With a rich honest glow
But tens time was up
He just didn't want to go
But time waits for no man
Old one or young
And ten became eleven
The final countdown begun
And now its time for one last bow
Like all your other selves
Elevens hour is over now
The clock is striking twelves.
Damn man that was beautiful 😢😢
Well, there's the end of an era. I probably cried as much as you, to be honest, but the upside is you're now watching the 12th doctor! He was the first one I saw on tv, and he is *my* doctor, and as much as I do and you will miss 11, I'm really excited for Twelve!
11 was and will always be my Doctor!!!
I said that after 10, then I said the same after 11.
@@znk0r lol I say the same thing after every doctor
to me too ;-;
10 for me, but every time I watch 11, I remember how great he was. Although he often is too goofy for my taste.
On to my favourite doctor we go!! Definitely excited for whats to come next
I love how at 9:18 you look like you're about to lunge through the screen into the whoniverse and hug Amy.
When you accidentally sneeze too hard and turn into Capaldi
Its the kidneys, they're always the first to go
The big regeneration burst had already happened, Capaldi was the final switch
It broke me for a while too
And now for my personal favourite Doctor, while many may not like the Capaldi Era I personally LOVE what he brings to the role and how he portrays the 12th Doctor
"Why was that so FAST?" 10 minutes after the regeneration started. LOL
I don't know why, but that scene with the Doctor and the Silence 'standing back-to-back' really gets me. The man knows how to fight a war, and fight it in style.
The end of another era - felt like yesterday that you started 11. Still plenty more great moments to come!
We all change, when you think about it.
We are all different people all through our lives and that's okay, that's good you've got to keep moving so long as you remember all the people that you used to be.
I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear. I will always remember when The Doctor was me...
and?
i thought it was a really nice touch that the interior of the Cybership shown @3:56 had design elements from 1967's "Tomb of the Cybermen".
9:08 Best line!
Also i don't know if you notice but the background music is *The Rings of Akhaten*
Finally I can see someone experiencing 5% of the pain I felt when a minecraft creeper destroyed my house with facts and logic
YOUR GODDAMNED HOUSE IS *NOTHING* COMPARED TO THE HEARTBREAK OF THIS EPISODE, *YOU HERETIC!!!!!*
Maniak Geez someone had never had a creeper destroying their hard work
I cry every single time I watch that, and it's literally the only time in doctor who I have ever gotten emotional.
Awe thank you so much!!
So kick !😂
And your réaction when capaldi arrives ! That was the same reaction in the picture with doctor's reaction and your face 😂 good reaction
It was only this episode when he had a wig as this episode was filmed separately to everything else
Damn Rose was advertised?? That sucks, it was such a nice/heartbreaking surprise for me.
@@JustSoShayla well not on the commercials, but it was announced that Tennant and Piper were both going to be in the 50th aniversary special
@@JustSoShayla Sadly they began to spoil some things at the time, which is sad because I have one exemple which is kind of played like a " gotcha " but... it was already revealed x)
I imagine it's due to the audiences dropping, but still
"It was like one second, and then it just ended".
God, when your laughter broke into tears my heart ached big time. I felt the same way watching 11 leave too, man
My reaction:
"Always remember when the doctor was me" -- Tears falling.
Karen walks down the stairs -- Flood gates open
"Raggedy Man, goodnight," -- on the floor sobbing.
"I will always remember when The Doctor was me". That line gets me every time. Every. Damn. Time.
"You were the first face this face saw." 11th to Amelia.
Of course, she had to be there as the last face he saw.
Yes he really was naked, and yes he really was bald! LOL he had to shave his head for a part he was doing.
@Just Jay He did play the T-5000 but he shaved his head for 'Lost River'.
11’s regeneration speech is so monumental to me, it’s such an important message. such a beautiful regeneration
😔 well that was depressing
Well the good news is that ur onto my favourite doctor now
6:12 rule 1 the doctor lies rule 2 everytime the doctor regens your going cry (thanks russel t davis)p.s his speech about changing was very deep and true for life
He was actually bald, he'd shaved his head for a film Ryan Gosling directed
Lost River is the name of the film.
Karen also was bold
I forgot the correct title of the film
I've rewatched this episode so many times over the years, but this time... I will admit that you got me Shayla, watching this made me feel like I was watching it for the first time again and I did cry like a baby as well.. again :D
I love how this episode wasn't too sentimental. It was still fun and 11 was just being 11 just like he would want us to remember him☺
The bit with Handles and the reminder message was so simple yet elegant; so much happens between when he sets it and when Handles reminds him that it feels like it’s been so much longer than it actually has, and Handles has delivered so much important exposition that you’re waiting for a big info drop and have totally forgotten until he says it, and it’s such a tear jerker.
The Doctor, proving once more... that life is not a fairytale...
My favourite thing about the farewell speech is that it always feels like it's as much from the actor as it is the character.
When I watched this episode I cried so much I made a pond (get it?) of tears on my desk and then I blinked and HE was gone. My baby was gone. I couldn't watch the show for like a month cause I was mourning. Anyway after that, I still loved Capaldi with all my heart. Twelve and Clara are my favourite duo of this show
10:02 I like how Shayla does the same face as Clara!! lol
I love how the long song played during the regeneration because when you think about it, Its the doctors song
I will never not cry at Matt's regeneration. One of the saddest scenes in the series. Always hit me harder than Tennant's
i think matt's is sadder is because its framed as bitter sweet whereas 10's is more framed to be epic and crazy
Love your reactions! watched tenant regeneration and like how you didnt even want to look at smith. Love how you couldnt take your eyes off Capaldi.
I noticed that while editing, no clue why but he just captured me.
I loved every doctor equally.. until 12 arrived. My absolute favorite doctor!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on him when you get to know him
These edits are spot on. Its like I'm watching a trailer for the next doctor who.
This episode always pulls on my emotions no matter how many times I have seen it.
God I remember watching this live all those Christmases ago. Very emotional from the scene where the Doctor is super old onwards for me.
I feel like river song watch these videos. Loving each one.
Don’t worry you’ll love capaldi, basically it’s the eyebrows
Compensating for the lack of eyebrows of Matt Smith xD
They are Attack Eyebrows
I thought the reason it happened so quick was because he had to hold it in so hard to say goodbye to Clara that he just couldn't hold it in any longer and 12 just burst out.
Letting go of Matt Smith's Doctor was probably the hardest thing I ever had to do as a Who fan, I actually took a pretty long break from watching the show after this episode because I was so so shook. But trust me, once Capaldi's run really gets going, you'll wonder how any other actor could possibly be The Doctor other than him!
They already did his big regeneration moment against the daleks. That was just the last bit of his hoorah
I remember watching this for the first time. 11 was my Doctor. I was already balling my eyes out and they they showed Amy and I DIED😭😭😭
Fun Fact Matt had a buzz cut cause he had been filming Lost River and had also injured his leg while filming the episode which is why in some scenes he doesn't move much and had the cane
Karen appearing was purely luck as she just happened to be in the UK filming Guardians of the Galaxy and was also bald so both her and Matt wore wigs for this episode
Karen Gillan was wearing a wig at this point too because she'd shaved her head for Guardians of the Galaxy.
I heard they made her a wig from her own hair though.
E North I remember reading something about that
You’re gonna love Capaldi. He was so unimaginably fantastic as The Doctor. I don’t think the stories were that great, but his lines, how he delivers them, and his chemistry with his companions were absolutely masterful.
Sweet its here! - grabs some chips -.... - and tissues -... - and more tissues -
Great reaction - I felt like although with David you got upset you seemed to be more lost for words than anything, while this time you seemed to be a lot more emotional and choked. Love your reactions!
His name is Matt Smith, and the Long Song ended with him.
Handles was obviously using K9's software, "Affirmative, master." It's the dogs voice with a cyber dialect. Reason it's so emotional.
Its hard not to cry at each new Regeneration. :'(
I'll be crying tears of joy at Jodie's regeneration
@@hellsingmongrel I quite agree. It'll be interesting to see it through Shayla's eyes after the heartbreak of 10 and 11

I like how this ties up pretty much all the threads in Smith’s run so far and his regeneration speech and scene is beautiful
