Here we are, the end of something beautiful. This reaction was difficult to edit because there was so much that I wanted to put in but lately, copyright has been hitting a little bit more than the normal so I tried to be as careful as I could with this one.
At the beginning of my 11x01 reaction, I gave my overall thoughts on Peter/12 and some parting words to those who haven’t watched season 11 and thus won’t be able to continue watching my reactions. However, if this is the last one some of you watch, I just want to say thank you for joining me on this journey and don’t worry there is still loads more Doctor Who content to come later in the year. (If you are confused on what I am talking about: Doctor Who month -> rewatching episodes, watching bloopers, fan edits, behind the scenes and more...just in case you are really confused).
JustSoShayla so june is dw month?
Still watching forever, including rewatches. Love your reactions and I'll miss sharing this Capaldi Era with you!
omg you have to watch matt smith and karen gillan fan videos they're so good ahha and the one where they interview eachother ahha its so cute
JustSoShayla I would love it if you dived in to Classic Who! Even if is only An Unearthly Child to see where it all began.
Thank you Shayla. In your Doctor Who month, please react to "A Decade of Doctor Who". It's the best tribute I've seen.
Fun Fact : During his whole time as the Doctor, Capaldi wore his wedding ring
That's why he wore the signet ring, to disguise it, and that's what drops to the floor after the regeneration, a callback to the First Doctor's ring not fitting the Second Doctor. In this story, however, the First Doctor wore fingerless gloves, as he did in The Tenth Planet and The Five Doctors and as Bradley himself wore as Hartnell in An Adventure in Space and Time.
the Doctor's wedding ring? from when he married River? or am I thinking of something else?
Z21GamerLuke it’s Peter Capaldi’s wedding ring. In story, the Doctor receives the ring as a gift
@@dannymagtibay944 aww that's nice that capaldi wore that on set
He does it for all for his acting stuff now. He never takes it off anymore
Capaldi kind of sneaked up on me as the doctor. He didn't enter with a bang but suddenly you just realized what kind of precious doctor he was.
@@chriszone50 I've only cried at a TV show once (Lost). Seeing Clara again and having her back with 12 in his mind during his final minutes brought me the closest anything has to making me cry at a TV show for the second time.
Same!I appreciate him so much more now in retrospect!
@@chriszone50 Correction it's what you call a new who fan not an old who fan
Life Upgrade she cant put everything in bc of copyright.
@@chriszone50 The term "fake fan" gets tossed about way too much. If somebody genuinely enjoys Doctor Who then they are a fan, even if they're only a fan of a season or specific Doctor. You're very entitled to have your own opinions, though you might also want to keep an open mind before posting.
"Doctor, I let you go ..."
Goodbye Peter. You were good. You were very very good. And you made a mighty fine Doctor.
Goodbye Peter.
Goodbye Murray Gold.
Goodbye Rachel Tallaley.
Goodbye Moffat.
Goodbye every single writer we've gotten to know.

Agreed. Very underrated as a Doctor. His character grew as the seasons progressed
@@ArlanKels Goodbye show. I stopped watching after this episode. I tried watching the new Doctor but it's a show that is not for me. The Twelfth Doctor not only had a a good character arc, "Twice Upon A Time" was a fitting end for the Russell T. Davies-Steven Moffat-Murray Gold Era from 2005-2017.
@@luketaylor5848 Agreed, but I think Capaldi has been appreciated more in past years - but, personally, I loved his Doctor from the get-go. As someone who grew up in the Classic Era, I wasn't put off by an older Doctor, which may have explained why some NuWho fans didn't take to him initially. I was glad to see that Shayla didn't fall into that category. You're a good judge of quality, Shayla!
@@antoniochasten3192
Yup. There's a distinct reason why Series 11 didn't feel like the New Who, it's because it was a completely new show.
New director, new writers, new production level, new everything. Even new cameras.
I love how 12 developed from doubting if he was a 'hugging person now' to his final heartfelt embrace with Bill and Nardole. Wonderful reactions. I didn't want Peter to leave either - perhaps the finest Doctor of them all.
He's a doctor who could have been phenomenal if it weren't for some pretty poor writing at times, the show suffered after Moffat became the show runner, and even more so after he left, it was so much better under Russell T Davies, that dude knows how to run a TV show.
@@TheTradge nah, Moffat was a great showrunner for the most part, he's at the very least just as good as Davies.
@@galarstar052 I think Moffat was stronger writing the odd episode like “Blink” or “Empty Child/Doctor Dances”, rather than the majority of them, often his narratives are convoluted in an attempt be overly clever. I will admit the 11th Doctor’s series were pretty strong, but I wasn’t a fan of much of 12’s storylines.
@@TheTradge Russell also made some god awful episodes as well though.
The fact that Shayla said "I'm not ready to let go" is such good unintentional foreshadowing for Capaldi's last words as the Doctor
I don’t know how I do that...it baffles me.
Honestly, if this girl, Torchwood Boy and Sesskasays got together for one big group reaction it would be the best thing ever.
"Day of the Doctor Who Reactor"

''Shepherd's boy'' is the perfect song to send off 12th and Murray Gold with. They are legends that will never be forgotten.
12's regeneration theme "The Shepherd's Boy" in full S9 OST ruclips.net/video/fXo47CIUuFg/видео.html Murray Gold 😍
They sent Gold off with A Pressing Need to Save the World
Murray Gold is a genius. His music is always stunning, but "The Shepherd boy", also known as "Breaking the wall", thanks to Oswin Pond, also known as "There are three of us" in "The day of the Doctor",is for me the best, and sums up Peter's performance.
"Laugh hard, Run fast, Be kind..."
Words to live by
Laugh hard because it's season 11!! Run fast here comes season 11!! Be kind to season 11 !! in the 12th doctors final moments he warns of the oncoming storm that is season 11
"Hate is always foolish, love is always wise".
If no-one's done an "Everything I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned from 'Doctor Who'" then, y'know, they should.

This one's bittersweet cus it's amazing but kills me, Capaldi will always be my doctor

@@chriszone50 she watched the full thing but reactors have to edit it down, she hasn't seen classic btw
“I’m not ready to let him go.” Teared up a bit with that particular choice of words.
I laughed, got angry, cried my eyes out, and basically felt every other emotion on the spectrum with 12. He’s my Doctor and it’ll take a hell of a lot for someone to change that. He was a hell of a bird that I still haven’t managed to let go of, but this show is about change so on to the next. Sending many hugs and good vibes your way Shayla!
I love the use of Christmas armastise, it's like my favourite Christmas story and it's so incredible because it's true. It's so amazing.
A human miracle indeed. Most of us don't really want to kill each other, not instinctively. Left to our own devices we'd rather sing songs, share food, swap jokes, play football. We'd all do well to listen less to those that would have us believe otherwise.
Never be cruel or cowardly, and never ever eat pears! This show is brilliant, but it will rip your heart out. Thank you Peter Capaldi! Great reaction as always. 👍👍
Everything ends.....
But everything begins again too.
Be Happy.
-My Doctor
The Return of Doctor Mysterio is such an underrated episode!
Capaldi had the best quotes throughout the Whoverse.
And the beauty of Doctor Who is that the strangest and kindest moment in this Sci-Fi show (the Christmas Armastice) actually happened in reality!
@@september_lego Which somehow makes the fact that it did happen all the more beautiful.
The episode has its big faults, making the first Doctor seem like a typical 60’s sexist old bloke when he never was. A rather pointless and dissatisfying story, and the standard “the companion isn’t actually dead!” Problem that Moffat always had.
But regardless of all that, it’s easily my favourite Xmas Special. Basically for the final 15 minutes alone.
And the shepherd's boy says:
“Doctor... I let you go.”
P.S. The showrunners really have a way with breaking our hearts with companions, don’t they? First Rose, then Amy, then Clara... evil little Daleks
Even Yaz's exit managed to cause some emotions.
Doctor I Let You Go, my favourite final line of any doctor
Seriously felt like it was Peter saying that to the role he always dreamed of having... passing it on to future actors...
Nothing will ever top Matt Smith's farewell. "I will not forget one line of this. Not one day, I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me." His whole last soliloquy just wrecked me.
I let the show go after this episode.
Moffat is a master of the regeneration speech. The care and thought that goes into his regeneration speeches is phenomenal.
@@pdegan2814 i like "doctor, i let you go " and "i don't want to go" more
I've been watching since the 80s. Grew up with McCoy and repeats of Pertwee, both Bakers and Davison. Eccleston won my heart in 2005 and I'm still gutted he only had 1 season. I loved David and I loved Matt - but then Peter Capaldi came along and became my absolute favourite Doctor of them all. I could have watched a decade of seasons of him as 12....but just like that he was gone
I started watching with Pertwee, and I (almost) agree with you. Tom still shades it for the sheer number of absolute classic stories that he had, but Capaldi is right up there with him, and is arguably the better actor. Mind you, I love all the Doctors in their own ways.
And now I remember Shayla's comments after watching the last Christmas about feeling so sorry and sad for future Shayla when 12 regenerates and about realising that she's in love with both 12 and Clara that manifested very clearly very in this reaction.
Welp, the end of an Era...again.
It’s painful that it’s ending to my favourite Doctor, but I’ll be watching your reaction regardless.
Anyways, I’ll be interested to see how you’ll view Jodie’s tenure as the Doctor (so far).
She won't be able to finish it. Who can?
@@MichaelM28 I did and I enjoyed it as of most parts, it wasn't the best but also it definitely wasn't the worse, I just hope they try and revamp it up more and show what Jodie is truly capable of.
Chibnall's era just hurts me. 13 spat on everything 12 told her to be. Never be cruel. Always be kind. Then she locks a group of baby spiders in a room to die of starvation. That's cruel, that's not kind. The Doctor would find a way to take them to a new planet where they could live, not let them starve to death. I hope 13 gets erased from the canon.
As emotional as this episode is for all whovians. The Human Miracle, where soldiers laid down their rifles and had an unofficial cease fire, To celebrate Christmas and be kind to their fellow humans, chokes me up more than the regeneration.....almost. Would that we could take a lesson from our forefathers and live together despite our differences.
Peter's speech at the end is the best of them all...
I was sceptical of Capaldi when he was first announced; I loved him as a very different character in a show called The Thick Of It, but I couldn't quite imagine him as the Doctor. Then it started and it was good, but there was still a disconnect there ... until one day I realised that, somewhere along the line, he had unquestionably become my favourite. I really wish there had been a lot more from him: he deserved it.
I loved how they revealed Whitaker. When a new Doctor comes in, you usually see his face immediately. But this was cool! They teased you for about thirty seconds with camera trickery before the audience can see her face. It was beautifully done. Easily my favorite Doctor reveal.
What can I say? Twelve is my Doctor, and I miss him very much. And Peter Capaldi is my favorite actor and an amazing human being.
And now you have come all this way and found love for Capaldi as I think he is the best Doctor. All his memories restored. Shoes left too big for anyone to follow in. And now his story ends. 💕
Quite fitting that you said at the beginning that you’re not ready to let go, and 12’s last words are “Doctor, I let you go.” 💔
I love this episode for what it is, a fitting farewell to 12, to Murray gold (the composer) and to the Moffat era. But damn it’s a bittersweet one. Them
Last 15 minutes are a rough watch!
Your reaction to seeing Clara was so real and exactly the same as mine! And that final scene with 12’s speech, I was a sobbing mess throughout. I’m sad you’re caught up with 12, his era is just phenomenal to me and my golden era of the show. I still miss 12 and Clara, 4 years later 😂😂
I hope you enjoy s11! For me personally, its a mixed bag between some very good episode and some very bad!
This was a great episode and send off for Peter and 12. First and last shot of 12 on the show was his eyebrows. Last episode for not just Capaldi and Moffat but also Murray Gold who did the music for all 10 seasons. I think 12 got the biggest character growth of any Doctor. Remember back in 8x02 when he says that Clara cares so he doesn't have to and this episode his last words were to be kind. Fun bit of trivia, the planet they go to in this episode was the planet that Jack mentioned back in Moffat's first episode Empty Child/Doctor Dances. The one with where The Doctor planted a banana grove. Also, the Christmas day armistice was an actual historical event. On to 13.
This is one of Doctor Who's most beautiful episodes. There's so much poetry in it!
And Capaldi was undeniably the Doctor, which makes his regeneration all the sadder. He's my absolute favourite!
You don't care right now, and after watching her series, you never will again.
I absolutely love Peter. He is definitely one of my favourite Doctors. I remember when I first started watching him. Matt was my favourite and Peter was so, so different to him. Especially in series 8, he was quite grumpy. I didn't know how I felt about him. However, near the end of series 8 I really started to like him. Then in series 9 he absolutely blew me away. His performance was astounding and he had developed so much. He also became a lot more light hearted which I really liked. He changed from being the grumpy old man to being sweet, loving and kind. Him and Clara were amazing together and their chemistry was phenomenal. Clara hasn't always been my favourite but when she's is with 12 they are just fantastic. Also, another thing is that Peter Capaldi=King of Speeches👑 His acting when giving speeches is like nothing I can explain. It's just absolutely amazing. I also loved him and River together😢Then in series 10, I adored him. He was so good. His performance got better and better and better. Also, I loved his relationship with Bill. It felt... really natural and it felt like he really cared for her even though she may not have had the background that Clara did. I loved him and Bill and Nardole. Also, I really want to mention him and Missy. I loved them two so much. I really wanted Missy to join him and I wanted them to become friends again. She changed, but the Doctor never got to see that... that's all I wanted... i just wanted the Doctor to know that she had changed. Also Michelle Gomez, the actress who plays Missy is phenomenal and she is by far my favourite incarnation of the Master. In these last few episodes Peter's performance is astounding. I actually just watched this episode so that I could watch this reaction and I've already cried a lot... and I'm ready to cry even more. I really miss him.
"Laugh hard, Run fast, Be kind... Doctor, I let you go"😭😭😭
And for those who didn't know that ring was a prop designed to hide Peter's actual wedding ring.
It was one of the requirements to be the Doctor that he be allowed to wear his ring at all times.
yep, this regeneration hit me so hard and I totally wasn't expecting it. I mean I cry every regeneration but with Capaldi... it was like I didn't recognize how much I adored him until it was too late. I started crying during the Christmas armistice scene and didn't stop till the very end. Even after it was over I was left over dramatically sobbing. Clara's return was particularly tearjerking as she is one of my all-time favorite companions (ironic since I used to really dislike her) and her relationship with 12 is unmatchable. And of course Capaldi's amazing pre regeneration speech is beautiful and the perfect end to his run. His final words "Doctor, I let you go" are the most fitting of any regeneration EVER! completely unforgettable and incredibly true to how I feel about his doctor. Overall 12 is my second favorite new who doctor and I'm glad to see he left an impact on you as well. love the reaction Shayla, keep doing what you do :)
Your reaction to Clara was everything I needed and more.
Also please react to the best Twelve/Clara tributes (we could suggest you which ones) cause they are proper masterpieces and you totally deserve to watch them
RUclipsr "Katrin Depp" made some amazing ones! I would love to see her react to some of them. Pulse is amazing !

ChanCeNecK YES! "Pulse" is a pure work of art if you ask me, I never get tired of watching it!
Capaldi's first episode: "I don't think I'm a hugging person now."
Capaldi's last episode: "Cuddles."
My favorite Doctor ever. LOVED him from the start. This last episode the first half doesn't do it for me, but that last half is pure gold. For me, I've re-watched the whole scene with The Doctor, Bill and Nardole more times than I can count. Being a bit older I've lost family and friends, which happens to us all as we get older, and had periods in my life where it was just me on account of that. That part (though cut from here) where he says "A life this long, do you know what it is? It's a battle field like this one. And it's empty. Because everyone else has fallen." And just the look of truth he has on his face for a brief moment is so genuine and respectful to everyone who's ever been there that he forever won me over as the best Doctor. He could be silly and angry and goofy but he could get REAL better than them all. Amazing acting range.
I started watching Doctor Who, when Tom Baker was the Doctor; so Tom will always hold that special place in my heart as my 1st favorite Doctor. Peter C. is my very close 2nd Doctor, followed by a very close 3rd with Matt. Those are my top 3.
Nice, those are my top, in that order. Pertwee is just behind them at #4, and those are probably my favorite. I would say Tennant is just behind them, and then some combination of Davison, Eccleston, and Troughton.
Pretty much my view, but Tom _just_ shades it. My top 5 in order: Tom; Capaldi; Troughton; Smith; Pertwee
And thus ends the time of my favorite Doctor. Your reaction was as emotional and relatable as I expected, Shayla. You truly echoed what we Twelfth Doctor fans felt when he left. Thank you for all your work and for sharing your love of the show with us. Onwards to Series 11! :D
aleztfu You mean Season 1 of Doctor Poo?
@@OkeyVision So clever and edgy.
My condolences for your loss of 12.
If it is any consolation, it wasn't easy for any of us either.
Lovely episode though isn't it.
I kind of love the fact that the last conversation 12 has is with the TARDIS. The TARDIS won't let him die. It knows how much more he has to do, and so it compels him to keep ongoing. Even if it kills this incarnation of him. They're in it together, just like they always have been!
In tears watching. My Doctor. Thank you for reacting.
“I don’t want to go.” -David Tennenant
I screamed at the tv, “Then why are you leaving!” Hugs to you Shayla across space and time.
i seriously felt your pain in this one. clara turning up absolutely ruined me. i’m so so happy they had 12 go with his memories of her. it was painful but we needed it, steven was kind for giving us that 😂 it’s been well over a year since this special and i still miss 12 SO badly. peter was (and as a person still is) *the* doctor. he truly embodied and developed the doctor with so much love. god it’s literally painful not having him on the show anymore
It was emotionally exhausting just to watch your reaction here, so I hope you were okay afterwards. It was a very heartwarming reaction; from the moment the first Doctor started to regenerate, it was very touching. We know how much you loved Clara, so that was a moment everyone was looking forward to. You certainly delivered.
Even though we still have season 11 to go and I'll obviously still watch all your reactions, this is still the end of an era. Maybe I'm getting a bit sentimental but thank you for taking us on your journey with you. :) Loved every minute of it, the happiness and the sadness. You get invested like nobody else and seeing the effect this era had on you tugged at my heartstrings more than once. Your reactions are the best, Shayla.

@@JustSoShayla Aw, you're welcome. That's so wonderful to know. Thank you!
A regular cliffhanger ending just doesn't cut it when you're trying to follow up something as cool as the Twelfth Doctor - you need a cliff-falling-off ending to even stand a chance...
I see what you did there 👌
Have to make a shout out to Steven Moffat as well being his last episode as show runner. In my opinion he was an amazing show runner. He had his moments where I didn’t agree with decisions he took but for the most part it was all great material, not to mention the perfection that the 50th anniversary turned out to be. He was ambitious and took the show places where it has never went before, that’s what I think the current show runner is missing among some other things but this isn’t about Chris Chibnall. Love him or hate him, Steven Moffat and Matt Smith took the show global and gave it the attention that it deserves and with that the budget it deserves. He will be missed for sure and definitely made an impact on the show.
It's been really lovely watching your reactions to Doctor Who. Sadly, this is where I bid you farewell and I _hope_ you find some enjoyment in the other series.

Sorry for the pain Shayla, looking forward to seeing your overall thoughts on Capaldi, I hadn't decided at the time but seeing his run again via your reactions confirmed to me he was the best doctor. As other people say, make your own opinions on the next series, it has some really high moments, perhaps just doesn't hit the same highs ...... p.s. fun fact, the german soldier in the face off, was Toby Whithouse, writer of A Town Called Mercy, A God Complex and a few others, also the UK show Being Human. He could make a good future show runner ....
the twelth doctor is and always will be my doctor!
As soon as Bill said “I’ll show you how important memories are” I knew knew KNEW what was about to happen. I pretty much lost it. Couldn’t stop crying!!!
I love the fact you pretty much have the same reaction to a regeneration. As soon as a new doctor arrives you say "I don't care about you right now" 😂 love it. Cannot wait for your reaction to the next series ☺
From "Do you happen to know how to fly this thing" to "Doctor, I let you go" 12 is the best.
From "kidneys! I don't like the color!"
Very good to share a feeling with someone. I could not move on after Capaldi. I hope to see the new phase with you.
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Peter Capaldi either. He is my favourite. He made a mighty fine Doctor and he will always be my favourite.
“Not ready to let go” wow she foreshadowed some of Capaldis last words
This reaction was so relatable omg
Losing the Twelfth Doctor was hard because we felt like we grew up with him, he started out all rough and angry and confused about who he was, and we watched Clara raise him and he became the lovable silly Doctor we always knew he was inside, and then he was gone.
"Every christmas is last christmas and it's always sad."
"be kind"
oh Peter... you will always be my Doctor
This episode has so many feels!
I'm actively recommending you to my friends now because you've got that raw, genuine emotional reaction, be it when you're happy and excited or when you're crying your eyes out.
This is also Murray Gold's last episode as composer, so the soundtrack of the episode is like a greatest-hits reel from the last decade of Doctor Who. It's honestly beautiful.
Great, emotional reaction to one of the best ever episodes. I like the connection between the previous companion and the next regeneration. When Tennant arrived, his accent changed to more like Rose's. When Capaldi arrived, he became Scottish because of Amy. When Whittaker arrived, she became Northern because of Clara. That's my theory anyway! I also loved how they brought David Bradley back, after convincingly playing the 1st Doctor & William Hartnell in "An Adventure In Space & Time". It's hilarious how different and outdated he is (it's actually accurate in how sexist/misogynistic he is as the 1st Doctor was originally due to the attitudes in the 1960s).
Why does Capaldi’s run feel so damn short in comparison to Smith and Tennant???
“Well then… here we go again.” - Madame Vastra
Well, it was shorter, in terms of number of episodes and end-to-end duration. However, I agree that it feels even shorter than it was - from my perspective, it's a case of "time flies when you're having fun", because I enjoyed his performance so much. I really enjoyed Smith, too, and Tennant (before Davies turned him into a "Space Jesus"), but Capaldi was my overall favourite.
It does, doesn’t it? Seasons were shorter I think. And Matt Smith’s seasons were cut in half and spread out more. But Capaldi had a year in between two Christmas specials without a season. And Tennant had the most episodes and Specials.
Apart from seeing Twelfth Doctor's regeneration
I'm kinda scared to watch the First Doctor's regeneration...

Are you watching them chronologically?
@@bobdallas4860 yup.

Buy hey, I just like watching it in order :v
@@azizuladnan2957 I was asking, because I did exactly the same and it was the greatest journey I have ever had. It's way better to see the stories in order rather than randomised, for example the 1st Doctor did have a character arc, with time from a grumpy old man he became a lovely grandfather and you wouldn't have noticed that by watching them in another order.
@@bobdallas4860 I know right

Capaldi was a brilliant doctor!
Future Shayla: Laugh hard, run fast, NEVER eat pears. And be kind! Love to you.
As of my posting, I'm 57 years old and my first Doctor was Tom Baker so I've been through many regenerations. I know your feelings about this because I've felt it with each one. You first dislike the new actor until they grow on you and you find somewhere in their performance a bit or two of the previous Doctors. It is a circle we've all gone through for each regeneration. It will hurt each time but know that each actor has loved playing the part.
As the Fifth once said, "It feels different this time."
I have a feeling that it will be relief more than hurt.
i love how passionate you get about all of this all the tme
And once again, "I don't think I'm a hugging person anymore." echoes forward as the Doctor reaches around and embraces Nardole and then he and Bill disappear, leaving Peter holding air...
Also, Bill saying the Doctor doesn't see her echoes back to what he said to Clara after his regeneration. This man had a wonderful arc.
I love Peter smile. It's beautiful and real.
The pain of saying goodbye to a favorite Doctor.
The exitement of meeting a new Doctor.
Two of the reasons why Doctor Who is such compelling and unique storytelling.
This episode caused so much tearbending!!!
And here we are. The final good episode of Doctor Who. Its been quite the ride Shayla, I'm glad we could take it with you and see you experience the emotions we did over years and years.
Hands down the best regeneration scene. Capaldi throws his best at us, even though the shooting for this was a rushed, last minute thing. When the music soars, and he says his last lines... It's something you never forget.
Don't know if you knew about this but it's just one more thing to make you love Capaldi just that much more. Not only was he a great ambassador for the show, he was a real fan and didn't forget what it was like to be one. He's my favorite Doctor and he will truly be missed.

So, so, so glad you loved the Capaldi era! Easily my fav Doctor after Tom Baker, and it truly is a shame we didn't get more of him. Have loved all your reactions since Rose (seems like only yesterday), but this is where i jump off. Tried to give 13 a chance, but bailed after 6 eps. Best of luck to you.
"I've got a few things to say to you. Basic stuff first. Never be cruel, never be cowardly. And never ever eat pears! Remember - hate is always foolish, love is always wise. Always try to be nice but never fail to be kind...Laugh hard, run fast, be kind."
I think those are words we can all live by
I will skip the pears thing, though...
This was beautiful. Hopefully he returns with Matt, David and more for the 60th if there is one.
I've been excited to see this for so long. I don't anticipate anyone's uploads as much as yours, Shayla. There's something so good about your reactions but I can't place it. They're very authentic.
So very true!
I've so many thoughts, amongst which is I'm amazed at how you've taken to the show like a duck to water, getting involved in all the regeneration & characters in (from my perspective) such a short amount of time
Another fantastic reaction as always lots of us were sad when Peter left he really grew into the role and became an exceptional Doctor
A show that bring you joy, tears, happiness and sadness. How does one balance so many emotions? I still struggle too n
This is one of my favorie Who specials. I was happy to see Clara come back to say goodbye. Reminded me of when Amy came back to say goodbye to 11
Here we go again.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Twelve, but you always knew they were going to RIP out your heart at the end.
I can't believe that we have already reached this point. I remember anticipating Shayla's reactions throughout the Capaldi's era to see if 12 becoming your Doctor/at least 1 of your most favourite ones will pour down on her like gentle raindrops as it did with so many of us.
I loved Capaldi's era. The next era is a complete shake up so I'm intrigued to see how you react to it!
I will always remember when The Doctor was Capaldi, he was my Doctor and I didn't want him to go!
I waited 6 months to finally watch Capaldi's final season. I even knew Clara was gonna appear for a scene.. but still, I couldn't help but tear up in that moment.
The end of an era, good bye to the best actor that played the Doctor. You will be missed.
I still miss capaldi, and I will for a while, glad that you enjoyed him as much as myself👍🙂
It's worth noting that this episode is also Murray Gold's last. The music in this episode is almost a greatest hits from his time on the show so if you ever rewatch this episode, it's worth listening to the music closely! ❤️
Capaldi is one of my favorite Doctors! He was just outstanding
Also as a Classic Who fan I feel an obligation in these reactions to mention that the first Doctor wasn't actually that sexist at all and least not so so overtly. There were more subtle sexisms due to the time snd standards, but the only reason it's so the way it is in this is to play to that theme of the value of change
There were as many sexist comments in this one episode as in Hartnell's entire run. He was equally impolite to men and women alike. The smacked bottom line was used in his era, but he was scolding his granddaughter for doing something stupid, not telling off a complete stranger.
Now the second Doctor era is a bit different. Jamie definitely makes sexist comments from time to time, and the Doctor never really objects, but that's generally done so that the women stand up for themselves.
Actually to be fair to history and Mr. Moffatt, those lines were in Classic Who. Times were different so judging them harshly now is unfair. Ie "smacked bottom" is in "Dalek invasion of the earth". It's like mark Twain. You can't judge the past by the standards of today. Undoubtedly, in 50 years people will think people in 2019 were cringeworthy for something we can't see now. So be kind to history.
@@TheMoonRover William hartnell is from a different time. Be kind to real history.
@@SGlitz All the same, the first Doctor would never have made the comments he does in this episode. The smacked bottom line is a direct quote, but he would not have said it in that context.
@@TheMoonRover so what. Since when is context important these days? 😒
