I am SO FREAKING hyped for the future of Valheim!? Let me know below what you would like to see in Valheims 1.0 release! Also, Iron Rate released another tease of the deep north after I recorded the video right here! www.valheimgame.com/news/development-blog-happy-holidays-

New building materials, furniture, and decorative items for the "nesters" among us. I'd especially like plaster and paint for a little variety in the walls department, lol. And house plants!
There is no game like Valheim and there will never be one. There will be clones, but nothing will give you the experiences that this game has given me welcome new Vikings.! I have 900 hours in this game and just restarted another play through
@@paulsullivan649 I love Valheim and I thought I would love Enshrouded. But Enshrouded is COMPLETELY missing the magic/spirit of Valheim. It feels dull and somehow very gamey, whilst Valheim feels immersive and atmospheric af. Idk how Valheim does it.
The start of a new world/character in Valheim is always the best feeling to me. The flight in seems so ominous, but then you're immediately greeted with beautiful scenery and sublime music of the Meadows. It's always such an amazing experience!
Prediction for the endgame. At the end of Deep North you meet The Winter Child, who explains that you've been played, and Odin has just been using you as a tool to permanently vanquish his enemies. He is the real villain. You then climb the branches of Yggdrasil to fight Odin in the sky. Would be dope.
I just discovered Valheim like a month ago. My group chose it as our new game for Game Night, while Abiotic Factor is waiting for its next update. So I started a solo game just to check it out, and CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN. It's cool to see this little recap of the history I missed! If anyone asks what I want for Christmas, I need a t-shirt that says, "I just need to finish my base."
We definitely need new additions for all levels of gameplay. Not just end game. I want more build items, decor, outfits New pets and animal system More farming vegtables and fruit trees Plantable berry bushes Cows, horses etc
I have all that and more! I use a host of mods and it's amazing. Seasons, more gear, more baddies, farming, build pieces, deco. Willing to host depending on times!
We need cats as well. Rather than cows I'd rather see aurochs. Their furthest northern range would have included ancestral areas of the vikings. Some form of goats, cattle and horses should be included. They were known as great horsemen, also one of the reasons for their great size and strength was their diet rich in protein from beef and diary. Cats were a vital part of the viking household, with cats gifted to brides.
And or expand the Ocean to include underwater swimming and new creatures. Something like a potion that allows underwater breathing for x amount of time or something.
agreed. needs more mobs, maybe a big passive fish similar to deer or something. turtles? maybe even have whales be passive? obviously an enemy a step below the serpent, likely being the great white shark of course. and obviously an ocean biome boss, likely being the kraken. would be very interesting.
NPCs living in your villages would be cool too. But I fear that providing an incentive without unbalancing gameplay would be very difficult. But, some hands to do even slow field tending, animal keeping, wood chopping, etc might be ok. Maybe even a limited inventory shop that will trade valuables for only the consumables from the dwarf shops.
Od love to encounter mini boss drauger scattered throughout the world. All the fallen champions who have in to despair, now swearing allegiance to the one they once swore to destroy.
I hope there’s some map update to where the map image updates features like structures, trees, modified terrain, or roads similar to how Minecraft updates their maps.
The lox riding is completely pointless though, a tamed lox would need to have tens of thousands of HP to make them worth it. The healing from food is almost irrelevant, you can't attack from a saddle, walking is faster, and you can't even take them anywhere.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming Sure, and then you get swarmed by enemies, can't defend yourself, the lox dies, and you're encumbered and defenseless. Its not good enough. The pets need a major rework such as saddlebags, armor, actual healing items, feeding trays. Its a poorly implemented feature that has no practical use at the moment.
@Mephil The trick to mounted combat, is to just not do anything. The lox will fight naturally if you dont direct it. *or* you can use a mod let you tell the lox to attack. (They exist)
Breeds ton of wolves to help fight goblins only to find they can't sail wolves to islands to fight goblins... nor portal them... even as pups. Having animals unable to be contained practically in ships is painful. You can't take your animal companion with you on raiding parties or exploration - they're effectively useless unless you raise fresh animals in the local area you're about to explore.

One thing that been bothering me is that deep north will look similar with mountain, honestly they could change the mountain biome looks to be just like the high area with plateau/ rocky area like switzerland. That will give more impact on new players when they see deep north.
From what little I've seen, it looks like the Deep North will not be nearly as mountainous. It looks like a lot of it is tundra. So really the only similarity is the snow. But yeah...the snow does give the biome a similar "vibe." I like your idea of maybe dialing back the snow in Mountains a bit. Not too much. We're supposed to be Vikings, don't make us wait until endgame to see snow!
I would like to see one new weapon added for each category for sure. Because it would be nice to be able to choose your fave weapon style for your "Final" weapon. It makes sense to be diverse as you go to really try all them out but once you have a fave I wanna just use that. Additionally, I LOVE building and designing and stuff. I'd love to see more decoration options such as More food options - As they make great decorations More building options - Diverse doors, walls, and other options for all material types. More decorative options - We have things like the steins right now but I'd love more lights, candle options, More things like the Yule tree or maypole. Banners that can be vertical and horizontal. Ability to design your own banner. Lanturns/lights in every color instead of just green and blue. Glass in multiple colors. So much. I could really just lose myself in the building forever so the more thats facilitated .... PLEASE
I spent many months enjoying Valheim, but when the Mistlands update came out I stopped playing. I just did not enjoy it. I'll probably come back to it and give it another shot at some point, but I definitely got my money's worth already.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming restricting visibility while also adding a bunch of mobs that will send you back to spawn with 2 or 3 hits is going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths, especially since gear dropping on death wasn't optional at the time. They need to triple the view that the light gives you, minimum. I don't like playing a game where I'm basically just wandering around in the dark hoping to find a spot where I might be able to see... In a game that is driven significantly by its scenery.
What I would like for the game release, is the Deep North biome to be in the same tier as Ashlands. As you said, when you finish Mistlands you can branch to either Depp North or Ashlands. Deep North should have its own set, items, food, monsters and boss. After you complete both of these biomes, you can unlock better gear combining from the biomes (either from the 2 or from all) and then fight the last boss.
I just love this game so much, been taking a break since the group I was with for years is departed due personal reasons. I love this game so much, it helped so much through the bad and good times. It's a game that is forever in my heart.
I'd been stuck playing L4D2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Plants vs Zombie, and Minecraft for years before I gave Valheim a try. I tried other games for sure but nothing hooked me from the start like Valheim did. The visuals and aesthetics hooked me but the gameplay and game mechanics made me stay.
That is almost exatly my case as well. Valheim was the second game ever that gave me that atmospheric punch in the face that makes you become enslaved by the game. The first one was homm3 almost 25 years earlier. No other game was even close.
Valheim.addict here. I've got 5,000+ hours in the game. With mods (currently at 130), I've reworked it countless times and built 13 custom biomes from scratch, only to have them broken by updates. And then, start all over again with new ideas to flesh out the world and improve on the previous one. About to start construction of a dual 4x size worlds accessible by a dungeon portal that can be found either in the Deep North or Ashlands within the first world, after I finish the 1,300+ tweaks I've made to the base world to add new balanced ways to progress, new recipes, re-worked recipes, rare creatures, and balanced stats for the difficulty up to 5 star creatures depending on how far in the world you explore. On my build docket for Bog Witch update is Deep Forest filled with spiders and other creatures, among the dark elves, Dwarven lands filled with mushrooms and creatures, Frostlands, a land with frost elves and dragons that grants entry into the Deep North, Charred Lands, similar feature to Ashlands, Atlantis, hidden catacombs under the ocean to explore, and Crystallands, a place to hunt for magic gems within the crystal caves. Can't wait for them to drop Deep North so I can truly start work on building backstory and fleshing out POI's.
That’s an incredible dedication to the game! I admire your creativity and passion. I too can't wait for 1.0 and them expanding on everything from the meadows forward!
In my utopia the devs of any game simply patch the best mods into their game. One example I remember is Wreckfest (instead of not releasing any new maps, they simply took maps that the best modder uploaded and included them in an "update"). If Valheim does it, mankind is doomed, would be too good and too epic and too time consuming.
Boss would be a frost giant or the winter child which is Loki. We already had mom and dad from mountains and ashlands as bosses so it makes sense to have it be the child... Maybe
I've been keeping an eye on Valheim for a while, well basically the whole of last year and i just picked it up at the last week of 2024, and damn, i love it so much. Although i've been keeping an eye on the game, i started playing with little to no information about the game and how to play it. That is, until i came across your channel. I see how dedicated you are and how much you love the game and it brings me joy and motivation seeing this. Thank you for all you've done!!!
i said it once and i'll say it again, sailing is one of the most important activities in the game because of 1) how vast the maps and oceans are. 2) progression to endgame content. Once they figure out how to not make sailing so damn boring, simplistic, and lonely, watch out!
It's nice to see this comprehensive overview of the updates! I often complain about how long it takes for new content and how we are in the dark without good project management from the studio compared to the newest enshrouded game which has had a road map that they followed through on and many updates in its first year, but really valheim is the better game overall in my opinion (but I do like the more modern graphics and breath of the wild mechanics that enshrouded has)....I can't wait to see what both games produce in the year to come! ❤
Its lovely to hear someone speak about how much you love both valheim and enshrouded. These days many people like to pick a side and pit games against each other. Why can't we just love them both!? :) Thanks for watching!
I'm just going to say, if my fortress in the north gets destroyed by new mobs... im going to be very sad. Took me hours to carve out the side of the mountain
@SpazzyjonesGaming looks like I need to improve my defenses. I'd use the ballista, except they target everything unless you put a trophy in them. My walls are good though
My only wish for Valheim is more QOL with the interface and such; a paper doll for equipped items, for instance. Not doffing all your gear if you go for a swim. Loot floating so you can actually harvest sea serpent loot. Building from nearby inventories. Stuff like that. Maybe a theoretical ocean update can improve the swimming experience overall.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming Yeah I basically never play Valheim unmodded just so I can have QOL stuff smooth over the jank of actually playing it. Getting more build pieces and furniture is just a bonus.
2 things i would love to see from an ocean update: 1: a few new enemies that, like the serpent, are tougher but rarer, with varying difficulty 2: make oceans larger and include points of interest like frequent small islands with stuff like small forts, encampments, and even underwater caverns, all with lots of enemies and varying difficulty somethin akin to how legend of zelda wind waker handles oceans would work fantastic i think. at the very least, something to keep you on your toes.
also, as cool as the ashlands already is, i think not having underground caverns was a missed opportunity. imagine an open cavern with lots of lava and enemies with rocks to platform while being attacked, that would be sick!
If deep north had bears or polar bears that are ridable or dire wolves with a sled dog system I think that would be pretty cool but a sled dog thing would probably be tuff to implement 😅
I hope they add animated drwings cutscenes where they tell a story about a boss or something imagina the deep north boss is a giant and they tell a story about a giant who lived long ago and its all animated and drawen like idk in some style but its not like lines its all clear and colorful
I'm fairly convinced that Enchanted Ashlands gear is "end game" kit. If there are two more upgrades to the blackforge that would leave those weps at lvl4 ( maybe the deepnorth gear would work the same way if you went there before Ashlands? )
i want to see bosses get overhauled. my buddy and i attempted to kill fader, and after dying to him due to the obscene amount of aoe and adds (both spawned by him as well as just roaming into our combat zone), its impossible to retrieve gear without dying. and you cant put a portal anywhere near the boss, because despite not being in combat with him, he will still do aoe spikes and meteors on those returning in the portals, and destroy everything. the solution is basically have the portal far away, but running through the packed ash lands naked isnt really easy, and carrying multiple armor sets isnt practical. They should overhaul the bosses so that they are instanced areas (similar to the queen) and (not sure if this is possible) make it so the gravestones appear outside of the instance so you can actually get your gear, rebuff, and then continue the fight i really love valheim, but the last 2 zones i felt like they dropped the ball. the mistlands is awful without a mod to remove the mist, as the item they give you barely allows visibility. and the amount of cliffs and valleys make navigating terrain horrendous. The dungeons are cool and the mobs are fun, but the whole biome is just cancer to traverse. queen fight is cool tho ashlands is weird, i dont mind the dense mobs, as it does feel challenging. but my issue is actually making landfall. the spikes in the water make navigating a pain in the ass, and the ship required to enter ashlands water is so big and clunky, that you regularly are running into rocks. not to mention sails block the entirety of the screen. hopefully with 1.0 they add some QOL tweaks to those 2 zones
needs a galleon-like ship, horses, cows, goats, another random viking kingdoms in which they can be allies or foes just like the dvegr, and a viking miniboss, a giant squid sea boss, early game very weak magic, and a special weapon for each divinity in norse pantheon
Do people just hate difficult games? Mistlands has always been my favourite. I traverse it before killing Yagluth since I don't need the wisps and Ashlands is fun af.
Only played 300 hours for this game and lot of those was when it was a bit early, came back in mistlands and still a blast of an experience. I dont iron gate to rush the ending, every penny spent on this game was worth it. It should have even cost more imo, tho you need to have friends to really enjoy this. But that is what valheim is, a game you can build, grind, or chill. Game is chefs kiss
i really love this game, i played it when it just came out, and now after all this years i download it again to finish it, but now im experiencing so many stutter or micro-freezes, search for everything, nothing could fix it, i really dont think its my pc :/ because its so much high end pcs with the same issue
@@SpazzyjonesGaming not saying everyone has it, but when i search a lot of people on reddit or steam discussions talking about micro-stuttering, there are a few solutions but the mayority couldnt fix it, dont know if its some bad code that in specifics specs works bad, or by the other hand an specific config of nvidia, windows or something like that and its very difficult to find for what i see. in my case i just started the world, i bearly made a house, when i run its very stuttering, graphics settings dont change much performance even on max or low :/
i noticed (dont know if thats the problem) the grass (i had it on low for more vision, on max works the same) when im runing around the map, the grass spawns like a 3-4 meters at me (i have distance render on high, changing this dont change that neither) of course i have an ssd, it is just workin 1% when playing also not termal problem, 60-70fps stables, literally i have micro-freezes every 2 seconds when moving, its playable but very tilting, if someone has a tip would apreciate it i really wanna play the game :/
When they say this will be the final biome before the full release, what does that mean for future content? Like surely if this whole time they've been in early access and they want a complete experience in terms of story/progression with the 1.0, that still means following that, we'd still get more content like biomes or updates? Or is it that they just want to complete the explorable world and then with the full release go to reworks or refining existing mechanics etc?
Honestly, I'd love for the release to simply be the point that the team starts on their next project. Obviously maintain the state of Valheim at that point and maybe a few QoL updates as needed here and there, but I'd really love to see what else they may have in their pockets.
So 1.0 and the new biome (deep north) are synonymous and the game will officially leave early access with the deep north but the update will contain more than just 1.0 as detailed in the video. With respect to after 1.0... the details are minimal and they have said they would be open to doing more beyond it but how much? it might be too early too tell. I have a feeling that the dev team might just be ready to turn their focus onto other projects
Mistlands is one of my favorite biomes now that I use mods. The better wisp light mod with a 3x multiplier makes it so you can actually see without it being totally game breaking and it makes the mistlands a ton of fun. You also get to appreciate the landscape more which is hands down the coolest one in the game, albeit a little frustrating to navigate at times.
im not a creative player, they need to release new ships because currently the only ship mods i have to design the ship myself, i only play survival and dont do any custom so basically im left without a ship.
I hope it is eventually released on Nintendo Switch (or its successor). I would happily pay full price to get it again on a decent handheld system. Love this game so much.
one thing they could add and would worked on every biome are bounties or some archeological quests. You know something to fight and something to explore, especially on endgame. Cool way for hanging out a bit more in game with some sense of purpose, simple adventure.
I might be too optimistic with the 1.0 release but I dont think this release will follow the pattern we have seen before. I mean they don't have to think much about weapons and stuff after this biome because there won't be any more. Previously, they had to consider the development of previous biomes and the next biome and the one after that. Now all they need to do is balance things out. Of course, it takes time to do new things, but I would guess that by the summer of 2025, the release date is already quite close.
Just wish the biomes would go back to the amazing feeling that everything up to the Plains was. The Mistlands were alright whereas the Ashlands I could do without completely. Absolutely love this game otherwise, is definitely top 5 for me.
I hope they can add something to smooth the gameplay before getting to Ashlands or Deepnorth as a solo player it takes quite a while to get to the endgame because of how much grinding
Some of the footage is from the original trailer for the game of which some of the ship customization isn't in the game. Perhaps that's what you're referring to
Excited for deep north, but I more desperately want an ocean update. The sailing has hooked me from the start and I would love more content in it. The serpents fill a very import spot in the biome being semi-rare and useful to hunt but theres no reason to kill them after you hit mistlands and this makes me sad. So for an ocean update Id like serpents to get reworked a bit perhaps the food that you get from their meat could be buffed or maybe used in later recipes for more things. Similar problem with the leviathins. Their chitin is quite useless as is in the game. What is in the biome is fun, but theres not enough and its not impactful enough for something you can encounter from the very begining all the way to the end of the game. I would also like some sort of swarm creature in the biome. Maybe some sort of school of razor fish or something that you have to kill with canisters of oil that can light on fire after throw on the water. (Just brainstormin here) And past that perhaps upgrading the ship. Ive got chests full of troll hide snd that could easily be applied to the hull of the ships for more defense.
2 things: The first is that they released another post on Steam, but without any revealing information. The second is that, personally, I think the best thing that could happen as a final zone is that we climb the branch of the great tree, where we see some powerful greydwarfs made of Yggdrasil, and some boss who feels related to Valheim. Perhaps it could be someone related to Hugin?
yes they released that after I created the video. I linked to it in my pinned comment. Yeah I can see another zone associated with the yggdrassil tree but for some reason i think that would have to be post 1.0
I don't follow media much around Valheim, so I didn't know Mistlands was so controversial lol, but I have to admit I did mod an extended reach on the wisp coverage. I play a pretty modded version of Valheim, and I actually think they should implement some of those in the base game! (example: Armory/Wizardry/Monstrum fill in a lot of the weird gaps in armor/weapon progression, allowing you to craft magic items, various fist weapons and crossbows early game etc.) But I've tried other survival games and Enshrouded so far is the only other one I've kind of stuck with but having a set world there made the replayability a lot less viable imo. Don't like the building in that game very much either, Valheim just somehow got it so right. Currently at 1500 hours in Valheim and still going strong :D. Fun video, kind of a brief history of the game, I only started playing around the Mistlands release.
oh yeah, i had put more in there than typically found to emphasis it. You also will never get all 3 in a single chest I don't believe. Those are all the feasts. perhaps you haven't unlocked the other two
I will absolutely start a new playthrough when Valheim 1.0 is out. Been playing since the begining on computer then Xbox. I exclusively play on xbox now. Long live Valheim
Tbh, Deep North already exist in mods :D Therzie posts just yesterday his mod. So, feel free to download~ P.S. This is not an ad, just don't be firm about mods, mods are great in Valheim and can bring much more fun~
@SpazzyjonesGaming Exactly what I was picturing too lol. Just walking across the icy barren plains, or sailing on the ocean, and you just hear something huge soaring over you, and just barely glimpse it as it passes over head 💀👍
Hopes for deep north I hope that the creatures will be as tough if not tougher than ashland's but less enemies making the option to avoid fighting them and sneaking around possible it is theoretically possible to do this in ashlands but it's not really. Hopes for a minor update is anyone else hoping that the small stone structures in the planes will become a underground goblin fort maybe providing us with some light armour for planes am I crazy for thinking this? have a look at one it's easy to imagine they're being a door with stairs leading down underneath the arch opposite to the stairs going up
Got valheim in the autum sales and found your channel while i was searching for something about combat and dude your videos even the top items have helped me a lot, just wanted to say thanks for it
So wait, the mob density in the Ashlands today is the TUNED DOWN version? I didn’t play the new biome until some time after launch. Holy shit. That place is still dense as hell with mobs. You seemingly can’t go more than 30 seconds without a charred showing up and when you go to deal with that guy 15 more pop up
hahahha yes it was originally worse. Specifically what I believe they did was something to reduce the aggro distance of creatures so you weren't drawing as many to you all at once. Its still a very difficult biome no doubt
they sould make a eastern sea biome with small islands and pirates/ vikings were pirate like right? and sea and ocean biomes different. have sea between lands but oceans on end of map
Valheim has a "strong early game" problem, i have by far the most fun in the meadows-DF section of the game where i live in a renovated shack and look for building materials in a relaxing setting. The later game up to plains is still fun but the more the game escalates and becomes "epic", the more my interest peters out.
im spending 2500$ on my first pc. (my income is disability) and this will be the first game i play. i got another 2 months or so before its fully built! good bye consoles. you helped me grow up
I can tolerate the fog in the mistlands. The sounds of a Gjall stalking you nearby just out of sight is super moody and creepy. That said, the ridiculous crags and geography ruins it.

Looks amazing Therzie! I've heard a million great things about your mods! My audience has been begging me for mod related videos. I'll definitely check this out in the new year!
Honestly, i appreciate the brutalness that is Valheim. You begrudgingly climb slowly to conquer the beasts that are roughly 40% more powerful than the biome before as you donate all your skills to the beasts that squanch you. Every new biome presented a new struggle: Meadows, i discovered bees are poisoness. Black Forest, those dang trolls man. Swamp, it's always wet and the Reapers are ruthless at night. Mountain, freezing to death! wolves are lowkey pain in the ass the rest of the game. Plains, those cackling F***s and deathsquitos. Mistlands, i can't see and the bugs can fly?! magic!!!! and Dwarf homies! Ashlands, HELL. I fully hope that the DeepNorth does something to keep the trend of unique challenges whether through terrain, critters or stats debuffs.

agreed. needs more mobs, maybe a big passive fish similar to deer or something. turtles? maybe even have whales be passive? obviously an enemy a step below the serpent, likely being the great white shark of course. and obviously an ocean biome boss, likely being the kraken. would be very interesting.
only if there was servers that could hold more than 10 players, 100 player simulate civilization in valheim
that would be SO cool
more people means more possibilities for griefers
@@whimsicalchronicles8798 true
NPCs living in your villages would be cool too.
But I fear that providing an incentive without unbalancing gameplay would be very difficult.
But, some hands to do even slow field tending, animal keeping, wood chopping, etc might be ok.
Maybe even a limited inventory shop that will trade valuables for only the consumables from the dwarf shops.
Dedicated servers allows I think 64 players…
I just wish they added new build pieces (roof or walls) with the bogwitch update.
Like... we could get some use of those ancient bark...
it would be nice with each update just to get a couple. Agreed
I started playing this year and have 575 hours played.
I've done everything in vanilla all the way through ashlands - I CANT WAIT for deep north!
i can't wait either!
Od love to encounter mini boss drauger scattered throughout the world. All the fallen champions who have in to despair, now swearing allegiance to the one they once swore to destroy.
me too!
I hope there’s some map update to where the map image updates features like structures, trees, modified terrain, or roads similar to how Minecraft updates their maps.
im down for that
The lox riding is completely pointless though, a tamed lox would need to have tens of thousands of HP to make them worth it. The healing from food is almost irrelevant, you can't attack from a saddle, walking is faster, and you can't even take them anywhere.
You can carry a ton of extra weight though. Even if you're encumbered the lox can carry you
@@SpazzyjonesGaming Sure, and then you get swarmed by enemies, can't defend yourself, the lox dies, and you're encumbered and defenseless. Its not good enough. The pets need a major rework such as saddlebags, armor, actual healing items, feeding trays. Its a poorly implemented feature that has no practical use at the moment.
@Mephil
The trick to mounted combat, is to just not do anything. The lox will fight naturally if you dont direct it. *or* you can use a mod let you tell the lox to attack. (They exist)
@@convergence1point Mod-ers seem consistently ahead of the devs with this game.

Having animals unable to be contained practically in ships is painful. You can't take your animal companion with you on raiding parties or exploration - they're effectively useless unless you raise fresh animals in the local area you're about to explore.

Gorr the Dragonslayer awaits you!
One thing that been bothering me is that deep north will look similar with mountain,
honestly they could change the mountain biome looks to be just like the high area with plateau/ rocky area like switzerland.
That will give more impact on new players when they see deep north.
agreed. Thats one of my biggest concerns too. How are they going to be it look distinct from the existing mountains?
I'd love to see more decoration options such as
More food options - As they make great decorations
More building options - Diverse doors, walls, and other options for all material types.
PLEASE
all great suggestions!
I spent many months enjoying Valheim, but when the Mistlands update came out I stopped playing. I just did not enjoy it. I'll probably come back to it and give it another shot at some point, but I definitely got my money's worth already.
im so sad to hear so many people didnt enjoy the mistlands
After you complete both of these biomes, you can unlock better gear combining from the biomes (either from the 2 or from all) and then fight the last boss.
yeah! this is my hope as well
I just love this game so much, been taking a break since the group I was with for years is departed due personal reasons.
I love this game so much, it helped so much through the bad and good times. It's a game that is forever in my heart.
well said!
Long winded BS. Seriously, skip to 7:36 for anything "relevant". Thanks for being like every other Valheim speculator. Absolute nonsense garbage
holy moly. Cranky boy this morning. I'm glad you found the timestamp. Thats what they are there for
@@SpazzyjonesGaming The point is that you got caught padding your video length. Do better.
I'd been stuck playing L4D2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Plants vs Zombie, and Minecraft for years before I gave Valheim a try. I tried other games for sure but nothing hooked me from the start like Valheim did. The visuals and aesthetics hooked me but the gameplay and game mechanics made me stay.
it is addicting isn't it!
That is almost exatly my case as well. Valheim was the second game ever that gave me that atmospheric punch in the face that makes you become enslaved by the game. The first one was homm3 almost 25 years earlier. No other game was even close.
@@alesxemsky a generational game truly
@@Yoshi92 they're are some super good mods out there
It would be awesome to be able to build a sort of "Hall of Valhalla" where you can drink with Thor and Odin :)
agreed
Boss would be a frost giant or the winter child which is Loki. We already had mom and dad from mountains and ashlands as bosses so it makes sense to have it be the child... Maybe
agreed
4:45 I love the mistland aesthetic to be honest. It's misterious and calm... you have to go slowly and, above all, you have to be alert to sounds!
I love it too
I've been keeping an eye on Valheim for a while, well basically the whole of last year and i just picked it up at the last week of 2024, and damn, i love it so much. Although i've been keeping an eye on the game, i started playing with little to no information about the game and how to play it. That is, until i came across your channel. I see how dedicated you are and how much you love the game and it brings me joy and motivation seeing this. Thank you for all you've done!!!
Glad I could help! I love seeing new people discover the game.
imo the old "mistlands" would have been an awesome biome with the webs, spiders and whatnot
yeah that was pretty cool
This game is flawless. Only complaint is I wish they did more with the ocean. It just feels so empty
They may yet. I hope they do before they call it done
I hope in the deep north we will see the Winter child mentioned in the ashlands runestones and that one dream.
me too. I think thats quite likely
i said it once and i'll say it again, sailing is one of the most important activities in the game because of 1) how vast the maps and oceans are. 2) progression to endgame content. Once they figure out how to not make sailing so damn boring, simplistic, and lonely, watch out!
i do hope they expand on it before 1.0
It's nice to see this comprehensive overview of the updates!
Thanks for watching!
I'm just going to say, if my fortress in the north gets destroyed by new mobs... im going to be very sad. Took me hours to carve out the side of the mountain
you should be worried about that
@SpazzyjonesGaming looks like I need to improve my defenses.
Sign me up for all of that!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming Yeah I basically never play Valheim unmodded just so I can have QOL stuff smooth over the jank of actually playing it.
Getting more build pieces and furniture is just a bonus.
2 things i would love to see from an ocean update:
1: a few new enemies that, like the serpent, are tougher but rarer, with varying difficulty
2: make oceans larger and include points of interest like frequent small islands with stuff like small forts, encampments, and even underwater caverns, all with lots of enemies and varying difficulty
somethin akin to how legend of zelda wind waker handles oceans would work fantastic i think. at the very least, something to keep you on your toes.
also, as cool as the ashlands already is, i think not having underground caverns was a missed opportunity. imagine an open cavern with lots of lava and enemies with rocks to platform while being attacked, that would be sick!
agreed. I'd love more ocean content
I really hope the devs will add some detail to the ocean biome. Maybe an underwater biome would be great too.
me too
If deep north had bears or polar bears that are ridable or dire wolves with a sled dog system I think that would be pretty cool but a sled dog thing would probably be tuff to implement 😅
that would be so SICK
You can get the mistbegone mod to remove the mist. Works perfectly.
ive heard about these types of mods
I hope they add animated drwings cutscenes where they tell a story about a boss or something imagina the deep north boss is a giant and they tell a story about a giant who lived long ago and its all animated and drawen like idk in some style but its not like lines its all clear and colorful
I'm fairly convinced that Enchanted Ashlands gear is "end game" kit. If there are two more upgrades to the blackforge that would leave those weps at lvl4 ( maybe the deepnorth gear would work the same way if you went there before Ashlands? )
interesting theory. i think that could be spot on
i want to see bosses get overhauled. my buddy and i attempted to kill fader, and after dying to him due to the obscene amount of aoe and adds (both spawned by him as well as just roaming into our combat zone), its impossible to retrieve gear without dying. and you cant put a portal anywhere near the boss, because despite not being in combat with him, he will still do aoe spikes and meteors on those returning in the portals, and destroy everything.
the solution is basically have the portal far away, but running through the packed ash lands naked isnt really easy, and carrying multiple armor sets isnt practical. They should overhaul the bosses so that they are instanced areas (similar to the queen) and (not sure if this is possible) make it so the gravestones appear outside of the instance so you can actually get your gear, rebuff, and then continue the fight
i really love valheim, but the last 2 zones i felt like they dropped the ball. the mistlands is awful without a mod to remove the mist, as the item they give you barely allows visibility. and the amount of cliffs and valleys make navigating terrain horrendous. The dungeons are cool and the mobs are fun, but the whole biome is just cancer to traverse. queen fight is cool tho
ashlands is weird, i dont mind the dense mobs, as it does feel challenging. but my issue is actually making landfall. the spikes in the water make navigating a pain in the ass, and the ship required to enter ashlands water is so big and clunky, that you regularly are running into rocks. not to mention sails block the entirety of the screen.
hopefully with 1.0 they add some QOL tweaks to those 2 zones
Fader is very difficult. I wouldn't expect an overhaul
needs a galleon-like ship, horses, cows, goats, another random viking kingdoms in which they can be allies or foes just like the dvegr, and a viking miniboss, a giant squid sea boss, early game very weak magic, and a special weapon for each divinity in norse pantheon
i like your suggestions
Do people just hate difficult games?
Mistlands has always been my favourite. I traverse it before killing Yagluth since I don't need the wisps and Ashlands is fun af.
i really like the mistlands too!
This game is not difficult. Just tedious and grindy.
I haven't played since for a day. Achievements would give me reason to play this game thoroughly.
nice. they are coming in 1.0
Only played 300 hours for this game and lot of those was when it was a bit early, came back in mistlands and still a blast of an experience. I dont iron gate to rush the ending, every penny spent on this game was worth it. It should have even cost more imo, tho you need to have friends to really enjoy this. But that is what valheim is, a game you can build, grind, or chill. Game is chefs kiss
its such a good deal. incredible bargain
i really love this game, i played it when it just came out, and now after all this years i download it again to finish it, but now im experiencing so many stutter or micro-freezes, search for everything, nothing could fix it, i really dont think its my pc :/ because its so much high end pcs with the same issue
is it only in the ashlands by chance? sorry thats happening to you
@@SpazzyjonesGaming not saying everyone has it, but when i search a lot of people on reddit or steam discussions talking about micro-stuttering, there are a few solutions but the mayority couldnt fix it, dont know if its some bad code that in specifics specs works bad, or by the other hand an specific config of nvidia, windows or something like that and its very difficult to find for what i see. in my case i just started the world, i bearly made a house, when i run its very stuttering, graphics settings dont change much performance even on max or low :/
i noticed (dont know if thats the problem) the grass (i had it on low for more vision, on max works the same) when im runing around the map, the grass spawns like a 3-4 meters at me (i have distance render on high, changing this dont change that neither) of course i have an ssd, it is just workin 1% when playing also not termal problem, 60-70fps stables, literally i have micro-freezes every 2 seconds when moving, its playable but very tilting, if someone has a tip would apreciate it i really wanna play the game :/
@@Koozkura that sucks!
if only valheim devs didnt take so frickin long to release content ...
Always worth the wait
@@SpazzyjonesGaming yeah but it takes wayyyyy to long
When they say this will be the final biome before the full release, what does that mean for future content? Like surely if this whole time they've been in early access and they want a complete experience in terms of story/progression with the 1.0, that still means following that, we'd still get more content like biomes or updates? Or is it that they just want to complete the explorable world and then with the full release go to reworks or refining existing mechanics etc?
I kind of hope besides bug fixes and patches. They dont add too much more after 1.0. Sometimes the game is just done, time to move on to something new
Honestly, I'd love for the release to simply be the point that the team starts on their next project.
@@Zerospacedudewhat about the promised ocean update?
Mistlands is one of my favorite biomes now that I use mods. The better wisp light mod with a 3x multiplier makes it so you can actually see without it being totally game breaking and it makes the mistlands a ton of fun. You also get to appreciate the landscape more which is hands down the coolest one in the game, albeit a little frustrating to navigate at times.
i think the wisplight should be upgradeable
im not a creative player, they need to release new ships because currently the only ship mods i have to design the ship myself, i only play survival and dont do any custom so basically im left without a ship.
I would like more customizable ships
I hope it is eventually released on Nintendo Switch (or its successor). I would happily pay full price to get it again on a decent handheld system. Love this game so much.
That would be awesome!
as of who remembers the old roadmap, i WANT THAT BRIGANDS UPDATE.
counter-raid, should I must say.
oh yeah! thats one thing that never made it
one thing they could add and would worked on every biome are bounties or some archeological quests. You know something to fight and something to explore, especially on endgame.
Cool way for hanging out a bit more in game with some sense of purpose, simple adventure.
great idea!
Next year, and the Deep North mechanic will be "deep snow", most likely solved by skiing around.
that would be sick!
Of course, it takes time to do new things, but I would guess that by the summer of 2025, the release date is already quite close.
you're more optimistic than me. I hope you're right!
Just wish the biomes would go back to the amazing feeling that everything up to the Plains was. The Mistlands were alright whereas the Ashlands I could do without completely. Absolutely love this game otherwise, is definitely top 5 for me.
some people certainly feel that way
It's hilarious but also just plain sad how insanely slow their progress on the game has been.
As long as it's amazing in the end I don't mind
Does new actualization (god witch) work on old servers, or do I have to create a new one?
Works on old servers
Thank you
I hope they can add something to smooth the gameplay before getting to Ashlands or Deepnorth as a solo player it takes quite a while to get to the endgame because of how much grinding
fair
I ONLY want for large rocks to fall down when they're not connected to the ground.
That would be great
All I want is bears, possibly tamable and rideable if not tameable and rideable add them anyway, along with rideable horses
bears would be amazing
What ship mod are you using during the intro?
Ship mod? I don't use any mods in the video
Some of the footage is from the original trailer for the game of which some of the ship customization isn't in the game. Perhaps that's what you're referring to
I wish they'd make chests easier to use. And also let me color code them.
how so? you can make signs and change the color of the signs
It would be nice if they could finish the trailership
Agreed
auto translated titles are crazy because in german your title reads "the state Valheim" as in literal state/country named valheim
oh dang! thats a bit of a nuisance. overall I think the auto translated stuff is a net positive but there may be some weirdness
(Just brainstormin here)
And past that perhaps upgrading the ship. Ive got chests full of troll hide snd that could easily be applied to the hull of the ships for more defense.
good suggestions. I'm still holding out hope that the update before 1.0 will be an ocean update
2 things:
The first is that they released another post on Steam, but without any revealing information.
From cozy through smoking hot to pretty darn cool.
Can't wait!
me neither!
Fun video, kind of a brief history of the game, I only started playing around the Mistlands release.
there is a great modding community out there with tremendous ideas!
@@SpazzyjonesGamingyeah they're really amazing! Really elevated the game for me.

Yes!
back in 2021/22 when you beat the last boss(the 5th) all than happened was goblins spawned everywhere, is that still the case?
yeah. defeating a boss enables their 'horde' to spawn at night in previous biomes
6:36 Hold on, I never had that many gemstones from a Charred Chest.
7:27 And I see two feasts here that I don't recognize at all.
oh yeah, i had put more in there than typically found to emphasis it. You also will never get all 3 in a single chest I don't believe.
Those are all the feasts. perhaps you haven't unlocked the other two

i would love to see a desert biome in Valheim
agreed. it just might not fit into a viking world. hard to say
I want to see huge Ice Dragons in the deep north flying out the snow storms 👌
imagine! straight out of game of thrones
Hopes for a minor update is anyone else hoping that the small stone structures in the planes will become a underground goblin fort maybe providing us with some light armour for planes am I crazy for thinking this? have a look at one it's easy to imagine they're being a door with stairs leading down underneath the arch opposite to the stairs going up
Love your dungeons idea in the plains. I'd really like to see dungeons inside fortresses as well. I think that would be badass!
honestly, if the devs just reduce the metal costs for braziers, sconces, torches etc, then valheim will be a complete game for me
There’s mods out there to change just what you’re referring to. I would advise doubling the resource gain for metals
good point man. metal is so precious it feels really bad to spend it on cosmetic stuff
Deep North? Its that the Arctic land in the top of the map:)?
correct!
I hope after they are done with valhiem they consider making a new game but with a different mythology like Greek, Roman or Egyptian or something.
I would love that!
Got valheim in the autum sales and found your channel while i was searching for something about combat and dude your videos even the top items have helped me a lot, just wanted to say thanks for it
Welcome warrior !
appreciate you stopping by to say so!
Its still a very difficult biome no doubt
they sould make a eastern sea biome with small islands and pirates/ vikings were pirate like right? and sea and ocean biomes different. have sea between lands but oceans on end of map
that would be cool!
It is quite simply the best game ever. For me, nothing will ever top exploring your starter island and getting started.
its a top 5 fame for me for sure!
Valheim has a "strong early game" problem, i have by far the most fun in the meadows-DF section of the game where i live in a renovated shack and look for building materials in a relaxing setting. The later game up to plains is still fun but the more the game escalates and becomes "epic", the more my interest peters out.
sad we've never seen the full developed old mistlands
ya could have been interesting to see spiders

The very slow release date of updates are truely the one thing that hold the game back. Shame
im not sure it holds it back. the hype is gonna be REAL for 1.0
As for the title:

Spazzy in case you don't know Therzie makes incredible creature armour and weapon mods that fit into the existing game really well. Can strongly recommend checking them out for that mod review video you know the one😂
Looks amazing Therzie! I've heard a million great things about your mods! My audience has been begging me for mod related videos. I'll definitely check this out in the new year!
@SpazzyjonesGaming excellent! I look forward to your upcoming Deep North videos! Happy holidays! 😊
I feel like the new boss or at least one of the endgame bosses will be jormangander
Sign me up for that!
With how punishing/annoying Mistlands and Ashlands were on release I'm not holding on to much hope of Deep North releasing in a good state.
supposedly its intended to be more calm
I agree. its awesome progression
