It’s stuck on Qubes OS Setup Installing TemplateVM Debian-11 I wished you would have showed 1 more step. Skip the memory test thing on the black prompt during the installation in begging. If we don’t skip it, then it the system doesn’t continue it halts. Had to power reset my pc to restart it again.
One thing I’d like to add if you’re trying to boot your pc and you get a error while clicking on your usb you will have to turn secure boot off in your Bios
Thank you so much. You're the best one. I will refer your video to everyone. I was having issue to install Qubes. I followed your video step by step and now I got it. Thanks again, Sir.
Awesome video. Helped me try out Qubes. Would love it if you could upload a video on how to uninstall Qubes OS. I'd like to use my SSD for work and that requires using Windows. Thank you.
very clear , do you have any tutorial in order to have different OS in the same usb (for ex Tails , Ubuntu) including the boot menu . thanks in advance
No, sorry but I have many other videos on how to install Tails, Kali or Windows 10 on a USB key. You can check this playlist for Linux: ruclips.net/p/PL3qGVpWh7QbPix91pjKyD76EnW63VaYCx and this for Windows: ruclips.net/p/PL3qGVpWh7QbNIBfc7BKaY2LT0d8QzVuGz
I just made a video for booting multiple OS on one USB: ruclips.net/video/nIZbbB91xNo/видео.html You can watch it with this private link, it will be published publicly on march 22
Nice video, explained well, but there is one thing that is not clear to me, ... they recommend a latest generation processor to run at the top as hardware, so I suppose an adequate MoB, of RAM as much as 16,32.64, 128 GB ?? how can it work well on a USB? A greeting!
So how long does installation take? After I test media and install it runs the code in top left and the big Q logo appears with the loading bar at the bottom. It moved to about a third of the way but seems stuck. Is it just really slow?
Hi KST, can you help me out, please? This is a great video so I tried to follow the steps. I first disabled my secure boot, because the installation from my USB was stopped. I had to write my recovery key I had to get on the Microsoft website to get started again, just because I had disabled the secure boot. It said bitlocker was the cause so I disabled bitlocker in my boot admin Powershell. I tried to install from the installation-USB again, but again the installation was stopped. Can you help me out please?🙃
Thanks for the information, I only have one question, the page of Qube OS tells you about certified hardware, I have installed it on different computers and it always tells me that this function is not supported, could you comment on this? Thanks
Bro please i have a question. If i install it on external hard drive or usb can i use its full potential like installing Antivirus and apps and so on? And is it more vulnerable in external hard drive because the windows operating system on my laptop may be infected?.
I was say that if you are concerned greatly with system security you should just install Qubes as your main OS then run a Windows VM ontop of that. According to the official site supporting Qubes they do state that there OS could be vulnerable when used on a system with dual boot active (for example Windows alongside Qubes are both installed alongside each other)
5:30 I can't get this installation screen to show up. When I boot from the usb it runs a whole bunch of lines of code really fast and then the whole screen goes black and nothing happens. What do I do?
Hi bro, when i trying to install, it stucks on "Creating ext4 on /dev/mapper/qubes_dom0-root" and i wait endlessly. Why? Maybe i was trying to install in a HDD instead a SSD?
secure boot > other OS and boot in legacy not UEFI so go in your bios and disable The Compatibility Support Module () and select drive that is non UEFI :)
Hey, I've been trying to install Qubes OS on my Dell Latitude 7490 for a week now... nothing works... Once again the hard disk is not recognized where it was installed... Then it freezes... Then it doesn't load at all... I'm at the end... really... I can't go on.... Please help me... I'm breaking this sh***
It looks like impossible to install latest Qubes 4.1.0 to QEMU/KVM. It does strange "freeze out" randomly during install. Sometimes i can not even reach the language selection screen. Sometimes i can pass it through but on the partitioning screen will be freeze the whole installation process. I was trying remove usb mouse and using laptop's built-in mousepad. Also was trying booting from CDROM and trying all available Hard Drive options. VirtIO USB IDE SATA SCSI. Also i was trying with larger sizes: first 40GB then 50GB 55GB and 60GB. Also i was re-downloading the .iso as might be corrupted for first attempt...No luck. I was installing R4.04-x86_64 but it was also not easy. Default partitioning does not work only if i did custom partitioning. But at least could install it. But latest version always failed.. Nested virtualization enabled but IMMOU error can not eliminate....Is that could causing this issue? Or What?

Thank you for your response, @KnowledgeSharingTech. I appreciate your interest and assistance. Yesterday, I made several attempts to install the latest version 4.12 of Qubes OS using Rufus approximately four times and once with Balena Etcher. Unfortunately, none of these attempts were successful. However, in the evening, after multiple tries, the USB stick booted with Rufus and the installation process commenced. Upon logging into Qubes OS, I noticed that none of the pre-made qubes such as sys-net or Whonix were not available available. Instead, only Debian, Fedora, and dom0 were present. This was unexpected, as these pre-made qubes are typically included by default according to most documentation and online videos. I assumed there might have been an error during the installation process or that I missed a step which resulted in skipping these qubes. In an attempt to rectify this, I reinstalled Qubes OS. However, I encountered the same issue as before, receiving the error messages: Line 1: "Error: File '/boot/grub2/i386-pc/efi_gop.mod' not found." Line 2: "Error: File '/boot/grub2/i386-pc/efi_uga.mod' not found." I used the same USB stick that I attempted to install with last night.

Thanks for the information, I only have one question, the page of Qube OS tells you about certified hardware, I have installed it on different computers and it always tells me that this function is not supported, could you comment on this? Thanks
Qubes need HW that is capable of virtualization, make sure you enable HW virtualization in your PC's BIOS
Bro please i have a question. If i install it on external hard drive or usb can i use its full potential like installing Antivirus and apps and so on? And is it more vulnerable in external hard drive because the windows operating system on my laptop may be infected?.
Yes for using it normally, no for being more vulnerable but, then again, it all depends on how you are using it
I was say that if you are concerned greatly with system security you should just install Qubes as your main OS then run a Windows VM ontop of that. Try to enable virtualization in the BIOS of your PC. It is demonstrated here: ruclips.net/video/HR1iNERxA5o/видео.html
What desktop did you install to?
I installed it in the USB drive
I'm sorry if I missed it. Why do you need an ISO USB and an external drive to install the OS?
For the installation to be clean, you boot on the installation drive
Hi, is it possibile to install Qubes os on the same USB, suppose on 128GB usb, where the iso file is ?
Hi, no
Hi bro, when i trying to install, it stucks on "Creating ext4 on /dev/mapper/qubes_dom0-root" and i wait endlessly. Why? Maybe i was trying to install in a HDD instead a SSD?
Maybe you have a hardware error on your external drive
@@KnowledgeSharingTech In fact my external drive is quite old. So, it isn't a software error. Thanks!
I have a black screen after booting via USB, Does it take a long time for the installation image to appear?
Not really, but maybe your HW is not compatible
Once I copied the iso over using Rufus, I could not get the drive recognized by my laptop using DD. I tried the 1st method but it never booted.
