I want to thank you for that video on super thrive this item has brought new life to all of my plants also after having problems after problem with fertilizers either your putting to little or putting to much I just now use worm castings as fertilizers although the black and gold cactus mix that I use always have the worm castings blended in with the mix I still use extra worm castings it seems to help give an little more nutriment to my plants keep up the good work and stay safe
Hey (big fan) I tried your way with the perlite and ran in to the same problem of not soaking up and not drying out. I removed the perlite switched to dry leca or fresh leca saved a bunch of plants! Have you ever used Superthrive? I find it really help when you first switch plants over. I leave a little in the bottom of the pots or glass it seems to help them get water roots faster. Thanks keep the videos coming
Love how you always share your experience and learning with us. When the plants got those fussy leca water roots, is it okay to let them in the dry cycle for more than 2 days or longer? Will they dried out? Thank you 🙏
Another amazing thing about living in San Francisco!! No bugs!! I spent 30 years in South Florida, so I know all about the giant roaches. Can you remind me what your protocol is for using Epsom salt? How often are you adding it to your watering routine?
Love your gloriosum, I have one in hydroponics and OMG... I made so many mistakes with this baby, I overwatered it and lost all leaves, and the I left it out and the sun - Scottish sun is the worst - and the point of growth got roasted... so I thought the plant was going to die, I placed it in water to reroot and now is finally back un hydroponics and living a good life, my mix is mainly perlite, because the roots are very thin and I prefer a heavy perlite mix with thin roots systems. I'll take a pic and tag you on IG. Btw here in Scotland we don't have issues with hot climate insects but we do have a massive issue with slugs and snails, I have found them a few times eating my indoor orchids but I feel so happy that they haven't found hydroponics as a suitable environment to live... not yet.
Thank you SO much for your story! Yes, I am actually quite pleased with how well this gloriosum has done thus far...I have heard of the snails but we don’t get those as badly-kudos to you for figuring out your plant💚💚💚
H2O2 to water ratio for spraying roots. I've watched so many videos and must have missed the one that states how much Hydrogen peroxide to water for each application, including pouring in soil.
I thought one of the selling features of LECA was low risk of overwatering!!!! 🥺 so do you recommend if the top LECA looks wet and glossy after 2-3days, we should empty out the reservoir?
You look stunning! Love that silver highlight that's coming through
Thank you tons Amy!!
I was thinking the same thing she is vibrant!!!
I love you sharing this leca journey.
Thank you Jeff 🕷

Thank you tons! So good to know💚
Fully agree, perlite is retaining too much water, almost as much as pure compost!
I live in a dryer climate but your little story freaked me out
Lol! I’m HOPING it was a one time occurrence-in all of our roach escapades, this is the first time we have spied them in or around the plants
Amen love never fails be blessed keep growing
Thank you❤️
I never top water my plants that are in leca, only pour water into the cashe pot. Thats just what works for me, I have rotted a few
Good to know

I have because I forget to check them and they are fine

I mainly use it as a spray under the leaves once a month
Also, sometimes I soak roots in Epsom salt bath before transfer
Me too!
Looking forward to your cutting video.....
Roaches in Arizona are the size of hummingbirds. Never saw anything like it
Diatomaceous earth is my go to...but one has to be EXTREMELY VIGILANT until they are gone-the cat however, loves to hunt them

Unless you are super confident that plant can handle it
Those types of bugs give live birth
Good to know! I’m not finding them in any other pots...hope it was just the fragrance and moisture
Nooooo. Why the video of roaches ugh so glad I moved from the south 😂Sorry too creeped out to watch the rest lol
I know...the bugs are the worst part...
