Honestly, my dude, this is seriously the best video you made imo. I mean... just how detailed you were about stuff and the way you talked about the game had me glued to my screen, which I can't say a lot for even a lot of other people I enjoyed... It was fucking amazing "okay" emojis and all... Although I am wondering though, what would you rank this among your favorite Resident Evil games?
It's a bit early to say honestly. I also don't really rank things necessarily. Especially because my resi top 5 list would be full of spin offs instead of mainline games, and people would kill me if I were to make that list public.
Mate you bring a hilarious, & fabulous kind of edge to your reviews. Impressively you don't scrimp on what actually matters in a good review either. THE GAME DESIGN. You've earned a sub.
I saw this review in my box , and dropped what I was doing to give it my proper attention. I loved this game, and am still playing it. So much in fact I forked out the $180 for the sweet Collector's Edition. As someone who has completed the game 3 times now. I whole heartedly recommend Mad House mode. Faster enemies, less supplies, tougher bosses, and enemies are randomized. My sphincter was extra tight the second go on Mad House!
Playing this like... 4 years later? Such a great, modern game. I love the pre-rendered stuff and the use of light. It will be a shame if they will not include it on the PS5 library with the light technological shiet and all. (yeah, as if im gonna buy a ps5 atm, LOL)
Hey man, just wanted to say you might actually be my favourite reviewer - your jokes fuckin' kill me! Its been a pleasure to watch this channel go from strength to strength.
This is the game I have been wanting since the disaster that was RE6. It goes back to the series roots by actually putting forth an effort to make the game scary, putting back the item boxes, manual saving, etc. Its a shame that most of the fans don't appreciate the effort that capcom put into this game. If it wasn't for this game, i would have just lost faith in the series all together.
i kinda like RE6 for what it is, and thought Revelations 2 already was a return to form of sorts, but yeah absolutely this game is amazing. I could easily see RE7 reaching classic status over time.
Why was 6 a disaster? I feel like you're just jumping on the bandwagon and repeating what others say. It was a great game. It brought back many characters who are directly and indirectly related to the series, and actually tried to tell a story - something this game and the beloved RE4 failed miserably at. 6 actually felt like part of the series and a continuation of the lore. 4 and 7 just feel like... non canon "Gaidens" at best.
The environment really reminds me of going to your old family member's house that's all grungy, maybe moldy, and kinda sad bc you can tell they try, but didn't really bc of whatever. It's effective, lol.
So I finally played RE7 and gameplay-wise, it's definitely a step back in the right direction for the series. But there are two major problems I have with this game that really hinder my enjoyment of it: 1. Ethan is a dumbfuck. He gets contacted by his missing wife, and instead of going to the police like a rational person, he just goes off to Louisiana by himself. And then he continues his idiotic behavior when he's captured by the family and wakes up at a dinner table surrounded by obvious psychopaths. When daddy shoves some food into his mouth, instead of doing the smart thing and pretending to enjoy it, he proceeds to gag and cough and spit, thus insulting the mother (the only one who, up to this point, has been civil towards him). I can dig some schlocky soldiers vs zombies vs evil corporation stuff, but when your game is going for a more realistic vibe and the main character is fucking brain dead, I have a hard time taking it seriously. 2. The enemies are lame. RE games have always had a few stock enemies that they reuse for cannon fodder, but they've always had a lot of variety as well. Not so in RE7. All you have, aside from the occasional swarm of insects, is a couple variants of the molded. You've got regular molded, molded with spiky arms, fat molded, and crawly molded. That's it. It's bad enough that the molded themselves look incredibly boring (an indistinct mass of black slime in a human shape does not make for an interesting design), but to only have four vaguely different types is just plain boring.
I played the game with those PS VR goggles at a friends house a few days ago. Never thought it would be that cool. Really amazing experience. Game is better than I first thought. Greets from the second greatest country in the world :D
Yeah, who needs that multiple-times-replayble crazy action-packed coop-games with a TON of a content like RE6 was anyway. Besides, all this episodes, locations, characters and cutscenes is such a pain to make! We will make a First Person Horror game that take place mostly in one building! Haha, now that's original! No, we've never seen PT, and our demo was nothing like it! We didn't make this game like that just because it's trendy!
Resident Evil a franchise created with the sole purpose of getting to the 7th game so they could call it Resident EVIIL. Capcom plays the long game. Genius!
I really enjoyed this game. The series started getting way too action-oriented when 4 came out. It was nice to see it go back to survival horror. Any plans on reviewing resident evil REmake or zero?
Nothing set in stone yet. But I'm sure I'll get to them one day. I've had so many people ask me over the years, I kinda feel like I have to at this point haha
:D. glad to see this one. far different take than my own, but still like that you took away a greater appreciation for the new direction. I might drop some shekels on the dlc and let you know if it's worth it.
I"m probably gonna play the Not Chris Redfield But Probably Still Just Chris Redfield DLC when it drops. Can't say I'm too interested in those tapes they just put out though. So yeah, excited to see what you'll have to say about it.
Shit, my bad. I feel silly for not realizing that. Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed RE7 too. The madhouse difficulty is a lot more challenging than I was anticipating though.
@@Coreisus Just check it out so you can at least be objective. RE7 isn't bad,but in comparison to Horizon Zero dawn which came out that same year or even Uncharted 4...it feels a bit behind.
"Acted Well". The main character sounds like a generic npc that doesnt feel real. Most of the time hes unfaced by all the shit thats going around, even to the point of throwing lines that are completely out of place like when marguerite crawls in the tunnels, like a spider, he throws a "now thats something" or something like that. Unfaced. Gets hand chopped/leg, he lets out a Ngh instead of a nasty scream. Or like when he first finds his wife, the guy acts like he hasnt seen her for a day or something. To me, Clancys voice acting sounded more believable, and his struggle trying to leave the house sounds more engaging than the whole Superm-Ethan deal.
DONT DO THIS. I had severe anxiety in real life for weeks after doing it. I felt like things were always coming up behind me. It's like when you swim for a long time and you feel like you're still in water for some time after
im gonna give this game another try just because of this review. the beginning was so slow and generic it really turned me off. felt like this game was just a cash grab trying to be one of those youtuber vr games. and the story so far is generic hollywood garbage. omg spooky mutant family lives in the swamps and getting contacted by your wife who you thought was dead. never heard of this before. but i believe u when u say this game picks up after the beginning and im giving it another try
It's amazing how many reviewers seem to gloss over this game's glaring flaws and shower it with all kinds of praise it doesn't deserve. Nothing about this game made me feel like I was in the Resident Evil universe. In fact, if you told me this was a Resident Evil game, I probably wouldn't have believed you. This abomination has nothing to do with the rest of the series and honestly doesn't belong as a mainline entry. It's a side story at best, and even that's being generous. The few ties to the series lore it has seem very contrived, almost like concessions to longtime fans, as if to say "Hey look, this game is totally related to Resident Evil, see? Please believe us." I just can't get past that, and it's embarrassing to see Thor absolutely jizzing on this game when it's one of the most flawed in the series. As a horror game, it's all right. But it barely even qualifies as a Resident Evil game, and any reviewer worth taking seriously knows that.
Idk, man. I didn't think the game was amazing....until I played it on Madhouse difficulty. For me, this game ranks up there with REmake, Code: Veronica, and 4. Most importantly, Capcom finally gave us a good RE game.
