The rivals lose their collision after they are done with their scripted sequence, there are couple of chapter you can do this, in chapter 10, Exiciting's boss (Black R32) stops after Harada speeds off before exiting to wangan, after a few seconds the car becomes ghosted
This also happens to Hakone ghosts, if you let them cross the finish line and cruise about 1KM (you must lose btw), they will stop and you can drive through them.
Phantom D.Z this include to other npc that filled in eah arc, like kuroki is stopped in chapter 40, does he become invisible few seconds after his engine blow?

tbh i never use it (none of my friends getting R33, they use R32 or 34 instead) but i never had a hard time battling it, but still it depends on how you play

E is not OEM, its a R34 if you didnt realized it
it's pretty similar to the Top Secret aero. they make kits which look kinda OEM. yeah, set H is pretty much a narrow body LM

Yup, once the car fully stops, its invisible.
