She’s an absolute beaut, what a monster, a beast of incredible stature and gargantuan power. Amazing how she can still lift her skirt and drop the hammer on that straight - awesome doesn’t even cover that magnificent Cummins V8!
If I saw you out in that I'd crash in admiration.....to see a FW in full flight on the highway would be priceless George. You can't move it on the lowloader now it's got to be driven everywhere...
We had the first FW30 , was at smithfield show , boss man liked it and bought , delivered direct from the show , ours was on duals (pain is the butt on road moves), implements for it where a dowdeswell 9f reversible , 8m progressive multi cultivator ,subsoiler tines ,chisel tines and a roller on the back, last was a set of heavy experimental bomford 8m discs . nice to drive all day but a pain in smaller fields , lasted just over 5 years and swapped for 2 7610's
Who did you work for?I had one worked near me bought new in 79 to Peter Philpot at ilgars near south woodham ferrers in Essex.Had a big set of petit folding discs a david moreton pigtail cultivator and keeble brothers made a subsoiler for it with sweep tines subsoiler legs and a crumbler barrel but only about 3.6 metres wide.Used to love watching it work.
@@Matt19777So who did you work for. There seems to be so many that say they had the first.Classic tractor magazine says Peter Philpot had the first one dno 490t was the reg.Sir frank taylor had one L Van Geest had 2 and parrish brothers had 3.
You're living the dream! ( as long as your teeth are still in place!) The 903 may not be the best engine ever but it sure sounds great. It will certainly be interesting to get her in the field with the dp2 on the back and make her grunt!
George I just love ford's being brought up around a farm I can't wait to see you ploughing with the FW, your videos never fail to impress please keep them going.
Good Evening George, That is as you say a beast and she gives out a nice tune, I think you will be up in the clouds ⛅️ on a foggy day being that high of the ground, All in all a great walk round the beast I think it’s going to be great when you start ploughing with the beast.Well all the best with her and you take care of yourself and stay safe.🚜🚜🚜⭐️👍👌
Nice video George brought back a few good memories of my old workmate back in the 80s biggest tractor on the Isle of Wight I drove a FW 1184 County at the time👍🚜
A fine machine that is & thanks for the tour. i would love to get a drive of it & my reaction would be the same as yours smiles from ear to ear the sound of that Cummins as you accelerate is awesome 👌
Great video, George. Interesting it's got a decel pedal just like a dozer. A bit of a scary handful on the road, & even scarier you wouldn't be wanting to fill that diesel tank too many times! 💲💲💲😱😂👍
Brilliant video. Everything explained and good to see you take the mighty fw up the road. You also had the best co pilot. More of these please. Thank you
Hallo george Nice Film from ford fw 30 a beast of tractor thats the right tractor for ploughing. I think in Germany run the ford fw as case steiger in 1990 years
That certainly is a beast of a thing George, must be quite difficult to drive as well, especially having no foot throttle? She is certainly very well built, when you were opening the bonnet it must of been like trying to move a skip!! 😊 😊👍🚜
I've got a baby artic MF 1250 George but it seemed a very similar in many ways traveling down the road with the transmission noise and steering ect I liked it mate 👍
FYI, the steering wheel and column is off a GM truck, the horn switch, turn signals, and hazard light switch should be easy to find. The handbrake is a UK spec item, kinda like the light package.
Great video George 💪 nice walk round of the FW 👍 regarding the rear diff is it totally non slip or a type of limited slip diff🤔 sorry but was laughing my head off when she started to bounce 🙄😎🤣🤣🤣 my only complaint would be not having a foot throttle 😕 and perhaps just to keep Kurt happy a stainless steel straight pipe 😳🤣🤣🤣
The Cougar PT270 on the farm in Canada I worked on in 1981 had the same tyres as yours, not duals. About the only difference between yours and a Steiger is the colour. About none of them in the US, Canada or Australia would have got the TPL. Everything on them is heavy, check the thickness of the steel the fuel tank is made of. International 4WD articulated tractors came out of the Steiger factory in Fargo ND. They were International designed though so looked different.
I thought you had left the door open in the opening clip, for a sharp exit in case of FIRE! 🤣 You need a Churchill dog for those roundabouts!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great tour, looks pretty tidy, but what's your first project with her? Apart from fire safety measures!😆 Has she taken over from the Belarus?
Pity you idnt have a spare stack if you did a crowbar down it would help the noise ;p I always liked that artics follow the front or back wheels tracks depending on what direction makes them nice to drive in tight areas
One lived across road from You one at Hayley and Royston fenstation l just Put red wine in tank but Fiat was rare one was at Woolley but pulling disc Remember electric poles Sparks flying😂
That engine is both exhilarating and wonderful sounding, it’s getting close to a Merlin albeit a diesel. Thanks for sharing and Delboy seems to like it too.
Hiya George your videos are allways interesting. Lovely for me and my bro to see you. Just a pity we didn't spend more time we have a vast knowledge of tractors living & farming in 70 80.90s Steiger was first imported by the morton family in Warwickshire. For there farm having seen one working in Canada. 250 hp it was and later became Dealer's for them and showed them at Royal show. In stoneleigh. In 1976. They no longer farm and sell Agriculture tyre's now. I worked on there farm spreading sludge . And saw two parked up behind there sheds about 9 years ago and took a photo of one of them. I try and put it on your messager
She’s an absolute beaut, what a monster, a beast of incredible stature and gargantuan power. Amazing how she can still lift her skirt and drop the hammer on that straight - awesome doesn’t even cover that magnificent Cummins V8!
That tock me back George thank you

Lies, we imported the first ever Fw30 into the UK

@@Matt19777yours wouldn’t have been an FW30 then surely as that was just a UK designation.
@@theturnip8288 what on earth are you bullshitting about?

Nice video George, I had a right laugh at you going around the roundabouts.
She was bouncy buh!😂
For a moment there george. I thought you was gonna sent flying through the windscreen.😂
She was bucking well!
George I just love ford's being brought up around a farm I can't wait to see you ploughing with the FW, your videos never fail to impress please keep them going.

A lovely motor all round, that shot from the roof with the rumble from the engine 👌
Scrub them old back tyres lol, nice one mate, love that fw
One thing I have to say George you definitely know your stuff when it comes to your tractors.
Hallo george Nice Film from ford fw 30 a beast of tractor thats the right tractor for ploughing. I think in Germany run the ford fw as case steiger in 1990 years

Very Nice one George Thanks again
Be great to see it doing some work in the field or the crawler

wow that looks a lot of fun. when its parked next to the fastrac it makes the fastrac look small
Fastrac looks like a Tonka toy next to it👍
Brilliant video George.Do you know who had the tractor from new.Was it possibly one of the two that went to L Van Geest?
I have a fw60 leaflet if you want any specs, apart from hp. Nice tractor. a bit of heavy work may help with the diff loosening, maybe.
There going love you pulling in the yard late 😂😂🙈
Jaysus george ya may get a big BIG turbo for that Ford 😮 she be some yoke 😬
Sounds awesome 👌 😊

Evening mate, what a beast!!! can you use the de accelerator to change gear rather than moving the hand throttle.
Good call, I'll have to try that👌

My lorry goes peep peep. Very rare I used it. No one takes any notice. Thanks Mercedes.
I reckon that diffs been welded together 😂😂
Thought that was the start to Police Squad 😀😂
One question I have and some others may have is.. Are you going to upgrade the work lights to led's??
We need a drive by video at full chat 😁
Just a question could you put a Hydraulic ram for ease movement love the channel

That Paint on the FW 30 make,s Ford 2.0
100% George sells it within the year.
When do we get to see it doing g some ploughing George?
You need some led lights on it also front and rear light bars on
Were the church bells ringing a warning for folks to go indoors ? (The nearest tractor I drove to yours was Muir Hill 121 back in the '80's.)
Hi mate when you gonna put a decent turbo on it just a thought
Might you put auto steer on the FW?
Do you miss the TW 25 mate? Regards❤😊x
Artic drawbar and 40ft slurry tanker

Probably a silly question but how did the areosol survive the heat under the bonnet?
So, how fast was it? Did you put on the gps on your phone?

What RPM is she governed at? Drove a truck with a 903 in it years ago n it used to pull 2600 rpm wide open
TUNES!!
Overdrive 😋
is it economical? 😀
Where did you get the air horn?
Where is the horn from?
Tyres won't be cheap 😱😱 looks a ball ache chsnge gear😂😂
Would it improve the turning by putting weights inside the rear wheels George ?
