- Over my 11 years on the pro tour I had a couple of debates on the oche. This is the story of what happened and how it was handled

Imagine if Gerwyn Price did a video like this!! It’d be about 7 hours long. Great content.
Be a series 🤣
Haha if Adrian Lewis did one it would go on all day!
Do it Matthew (do an Adrian & Gerwyn collection) 😜
I'm with you on the handshake pal. If the opponent has their hand out I'll shake but not necessary for me.
Another great video btw 👍
Great vid, keep it up & the 100K isn't far away
Could you imagine 😁 that be awesome 🥰
Someone having a fall out with Robbie Green I am in total shock 😂😂😂😂
Loved the video. Great Hankey story haha
Nice video Matt, keep up the good work
I think it is respectful to give each other a fist pump or hand before a decider but that is my personal opinion, some people want to start the leg without losing concentration and don't do it but it can indeed lead to a bit of needle if both players have different opinions about it. Because the one player will see it as disrespectful and the other would be bothered about the opponent trying to interact because it gets them out of their rythm and concentration.
Nice vid. Feels like it's been fairly quietly recently for on stage shennanigans and handbags
Yah I know come on lads !
I like to see the fist pump or shake before a deciding leg. A good show of respect after a close game.
Great video matt
In local games in Germany there is quite often a fist bump after every leg. But I think there should be one before the decider.
In America it was after every score with a treble 😱
Good video 👍👍🎯
The pdc almost always shows a replay instead of the potential handshake. I loved watching for it but sadly I have to look at something I just saw again
Some want the fist bump before the decider and some clearly don’t but participate in it because it puts them on the spot but you can definitely tell.. has definitely become more prominent in the last couple of years
Would defo shake hands or fist bump going into a decider, you're a bad man Matty lol.
Here in Denmark everyone shakes hands before a deciding leg, that's my impression after playing for 27 years in our national league.
Should’ve come to darts for heroes today Matt would’ve been great
I’ve been told off after winning a match for not taking my darts out , I hit the double and turned around to shake, and he was not happy told me to get my darts out of the board , before shaking his hand 😅, pros do it all the time
If game shot had been called then you didn’t do anything wrong
I think you should fist bump at 4-4 but not shake hands. Either way it’s personal preference.
You still keep in touch with Ted? ;-)
I don't like the handshake going into a deciding leg. Some players have sweaty hands or deliberately squeeze a bit harder. I'm more prone to the fist bump if anything has to be done. I will always wish them all the best at that point though, as I do before we start the match as well.
I tried to "join" but it won't let me. Is it because I am in Canada ?
Fun Fact: I never lost to you Matt. 😂😉
Now is that in wrestling or darts? 🤔
are the Wrestling, best comedy on tv. Been watching it for years and still laugh now.
Interesting vid Mr Edgar. Personally I love a bit of needle as long as it doesn't go too far. Lewis grabbing thingie by the throat for example is taking things too far!
Got to agree it adds some fun to the watch
Knuckle touch is more than sufficient before a deciding leg, I reckon. An embrace/handshake is unnecessary tbh
Nothing terrible. I’ve run into worse in my pub league.
I can't believe that your flatulence at the oche hasn't got you into trouble with other players!
I probably would shake hands its just in my nature and might put me off if i deliberately didn't but thenat that level who can say unless theyve been dere
Fun fact I’m about to represent county for the wirral B squad and Robbie green is representing the A side
I think that you didn't see the hand, even though I believe you, is not a good explanation because you have to expect that gesture. It would have been better to just say that you didn't want to lose focus ... I would have preferred you to tell a different story instead of the Ted Hankey one. It would have been easy for you to entertain us with another story. By the way, it's a bit unfair that one board official has more work than the others ... 😉
Any Darrius stories today?
No !!! 🥺
I guess the devil was in charge that day for Ted.
i liked when you side tracked, Matt. It's interesting to hear how top level darts players cope with the pressure of having to pay rent, deposits etc...and the added pressure it puts on players. Something most of us that could never reach that level ever think about.
At that point it was a huge game for me for the reasons in the video. Why I love hearing all the different story’s. One game can mean so much to one player and to another just another game
Hankey 😂😂
Sorry Matt, I play best of3 on a Monday night. When it goes 1 each, we always reach for the handshake. Feel you might need to look at your sportsmanship/respect there.
Mvg and klassen certainly didn't get resolved
I don't think that will ever be resolved between them two!
Bet there’s been some bust ups with Zach 😂
Heated debates and math debates I’ll be here. Also wonder what Ted is up to these days.. would surprise if he’s behind bars….
Last I heard he is behind bars
I still don't understand why you called over the board marshall. Could it have been some posturing to throw your opponent off?
Because it’s hard to concentrate when there’s lots of talking during the game
That’s standard for Ted Hankey isn’t it?
Played Matt back in 1978, after winning he hit me with a Batista bomb and fled the building. Still waiting for my apology. SMH
I did say sorry for the chair shot
Robbie Green's size should help you to shake his hand if he wants to...I know I would 😂
Lol, he's just fat ffs. He probably gets puffed out going upstairs😂😂
Mat,
I really can't believe what you're saying. Number 1, your a professional dart and your saying that at a drawn score going into a final leg that you didn't look up at your opponent to make eye contact to give him the chance to shake hands, I'm sorry your in the wrong. Secondly the Richie incident, we all know that Richie always plays like this and for you to call the ref in is so wrong. You could have taken a longer drink or turned away. What would you do if you played gerwyn price and he turned to the crowd and gave it the big un and showed his guns, called the ref or mummy for this, I'm sorry friend your wrong again. And finally Ted hanker, no comment. Love your post mate, keep up the excellent work, do you fancy a days trout fishing?
I always say good luck decider.
Not fist pump
Fallings out, not fall outs.
I think any player should at least acknowledge a fist pump or handshake if its offered, from what you are saying you didn't see it, if has was a flat our refusal then id say that is poor form for me :)
A team wanted to throw me out the league at a reps meeting cause I did a silent fart but it stunk the whole pub out :P
Fair play 👏
Didn’t you have an issue with Brian “Pecker” Woods .. saying he had a rubbish nickname and you called him pecker head?
Should be a hand shack or a fist pump before the desideing game for sure. It's called respect and sportsmenship. Sounds like you have been a pain in the behind to play against Matt...lol
Not going to lie you are a bit of a that for not going for the handshake
