Starcraft is also a hard game to watch. Not everyone wants to see the camera jump 10 times every 5 seconds & not every SC2 streamer is as good at explaining and talking while playing as you
As a Diablo series veteran, I can confirm that Blizzard killed Diablo with their last D4 release. I don't know what hurts the most, my most wasted 70e for a game, or my disappointment of a beloved game that was f'ed up beyond reason.
I'm surprised you didn't see the writing was on the walls with how D3 was compared to D2. I didn't even get excited for D4 because I already knew it was going to be dumbed down trash made for console gamers and filled with micro transactions.
Mark you should make a 1 hour video at some point with all funny and strong moments u had in a stream or something with like 2 mins 3 mins parts each or something like 1 base being overrun by queen drop would be one of them it be quite enjoyable to watch
I think it's not surprising that Blizzard killed their own games. It's actually a testament to how amazing their games have been. Nobody else could kill them.
I don't think we can compare Sc2 t to TaB. In Tab, the enemy does not "think" :) this game provides much more adrenaline in a shorter time. (unless someone builds the buildings in the wrong place, then TaB also has adrenaline :))
I play the same terran build against AI every single day and I've reached lv50 terran with only one multiplayer game (which I lost terribly back when I couldn't beat hard AI) Now I can easily beat elite AI but I don't want to play multiplayer games until I learn more builds and I don't want to learn more builds until I can micro without breaking my macro.
Stormgate will NEVER kill or in any way, supplant SC2. Reasons why are because it's still balanced fairly adequately, and it can run on potato. I've refurbed office computers that date back to core duo, have crap graphics and it still runs fine. So long as the machine runs at least ddr3 memory, it can run Sc2
I think one of the biggest issues with any RTS made in the last 10+ years is that they focus far too much on competitive multiplayer. SC2 used to have a big competition scene, but the vast majority of players probably only really played through the campaigns and never played more than a match or two on multiplayer. Competitive multiplayer games, in general, have insane learning curves, and really aren't fun to play if you just lose every time. Having a compelling single player is what brings in the masses, and then a competition scene can precipitate from that. We also can't discount that Blizzard was really, REALLY good for decades. Their RTS dominance was never really shaken even by competitors like AoE or C&C.
after watching your interview, I think you could make Uthermal3, where you talk about real life issues. I do appreciate that you keep you main channels positive and fun! It is my "after work treat" to see if you have a new video out, but at other times I would be fine with you getting more personal / serious with chat topics.
If these new games displace SC2 it will not be because any one of them is better, because they're not. It will just be a death by a thousand cuts as interest gets subdivided by whichever new game happens to appeal to you. But because SC2 is still better I think it will just be a period of excitement around new games and then that excitement dies down again and SC2 keeps on.
I've never heard so much bullshit! Blizzard killed starcraft? we are 20 years in! FFS, how old where you when the original starcraft came out? Name me any other game that has lasted so well?
uThermal Talks: Overcoming Anxiety, SC2 Balance, & the GOAT Debate "Life would have been the GOAT"
Starcraft Historian
Content is on time and right on the _Marc_ for a lunchtime show.
I've been jonesing for some sc2 uthermal content. Keep it going marc! You're the goated champ
Thanks for the great content! Why are the videos not uploaded in 4k anymore?
Why its not on main channel
i find it weird uthermal delays his 50 mineral warpgate research to have his natural a little bit earlier

I look at that as 'training'
I only play co-op missions, ive only played regular units like 4 times... I do love playing other commanders and their abilities 🫣
If you understand russian you can watch ukrainian youtuber alex007sc2
😅 crazy how people are even overwhelmed with watching sc2, go play some lol please.
Will never get tired of queen drops..

Diablo 2 was still the best

@@Meta-Drew I held out hope but then it kept being "well next season will be good.. and then I'll buy it" but nope. Never got good.
If only you had gone pro as Zerg! uThermal (Z) vs. Maru (T) finals would have been nuts. Keep up the fun builds man always a good time.
Your clickbaits always deliver! Love both channels. I may have taken some inspiration from you to use myself ❤
Its not clickbait then? -_-
I dont really play sc2, but when I tried ladder I felt completely exhausted after a game, like my brain was hurting lol
so true

Yep Blizz don't need help 😂
Castlevania. Sotn was amazing 😊
I saw matches like mod
Sc2 vs Broodwar or smth
It has 2 variants of races and somehow fun
I do not think there is a question that I am indeed the GOAT!

Marc and serral are the goats
Oh, hi Mark..!
I gotta watch that interview (to know who is the GOAT of course)
who has a link?

That 3 gate wall is surprisingly strong. Has it actually been punished yet? I mean actually countered rather than you messing it up.
blizzard being baboon leader, killing it's own great game.

Giving yourself anxiety with that mindset bro
Just play without the expectation of winning, but have fun

Gay.
probably streaming and youtube pay more than playing on tournaments.

Stormgate is "meh" its not different enough at all. its like a new skin for starcraft.
i think Blizzard created those great games but it was Activision who killed them.
