My first record pool was called NDJA Record Pool but I had to have a friend who was older than me to join and I would make payments from cleaning peoples yards. This was somewhere around mid 80’s in Chicago.

Brilliant walk through, would like to give some shine to The Mashup out of the UK as well, have lots of music not easily available other places and another shout out to BarBangerz, love clean and straight forward edits of the older disco and 80's pop songs.
It was an actual Record Pool, when you had to get put on by another Dj otherwise you wouldn’t know where to go except the record shop and dig. I started in ‘97 just on the cusp of NAPSTER I moved to Kauai where there’s no record stores

Definitely one of your most useful hacks for me. I've been so confused with all these record pools that I'm part of and my biggest obstacles have always been how do I curate well for my audience and my crowd and the different types of music that I play for. There are some pools that you guys have on here that I've never tried and definitely will try and it might make me turn away from some of the pools I'm already using.
So I know crate hackers is obviously our source for curating. But all of these pools now offer playlist and curated sets. Do you actually have a favorite with these pools when it comes to curated sets and playlists?
The other biggest problem or challenge for me is I DJ with music videos primarily so the MP4s are my first file types followed by any audio only versions.
Clubkillers have been solid for years, but I agree there edits are really heavy and dont always work. Kind of stun the crowd with a few of them. Anything more vocal driven at the moment works
