Really good looking figs and training. It's my first year growing figs so I will focus on the shape this year. Good advice. Glad you're posting videos again. Beautiful backyard and love the idea of the raised platforms for the containers. Thanks for sharing.
heck yeah man your stuff looks incredible. I think you commented on my FB post about the indoor Angelito tree. And you were one of the very few people that said it was possible and encouraged me. Thanks again for that. They taste really good so far. I will post back on FB soon
I've been watching lots of fig videos for the last 6 months. I'm so glad I found your channel. It is your technique that I plan to follow. Thank you, Magnolia Texas.
Wow! So great to hear!! Just remembered there’s many ways to skin a cat! My way isn’t the highway! I just inspire us to learn and learning about gardening is fun for me. LOL
Homer your work on training your trees is amazing. Your yard is beautiful. Tomato plant is alright. The zucchini plant not so good, sorry. Since you’re limited space, next year try the stake method on the zucchini. When you start the zucchini plant, put three stakes around the plant. As it starts to grow, the stakes will help get the plant to grow straight up. You pick a 6’ stake and start tie to the stake and continue to tie. Once you have the zucchini attached, you can remove 2 of the stakes. Leaving 1. Make sure that stake is tall enough because the zucchini will grow tall this way. It really helps with disease and bug prevention. Get some rest buddy, you sound very tired 😊
Luke!! I just took a nap… haha. Thanks for the advice on the zucchini.. I’ll def be more prepared next season… totally winged the garden this year. I was just whispering cause it was 6am in the morning.
It just looks so clean! I’m a big fan of the raised boards that the pots sit on. I bet that’s easy to run by with the string trimmer. I have a long row of plastic weed barrier running down my fence with pots sitting on top. I notice you have several Smiths. This is my first year getting Smith fruits. I’m considering a reduction in the number of varieties I grow. Simplify. Curious if Smith is one that would be worth going “all in” for potted figs? Of course I have Etna’s and other stuff in ground too.
U nailed it on my raised platforms.. trimming around makes it easier for my guys. Smith is a top fig for my zone. It’s highly productive, split resistant, tastes good and it’s almost August and starting to swell. With my zone, I’m limited to what I can grow successfully. I want to have a final collection of about 36 figs. And I don’t need 36 different varieties. I just want all 36 to be productive and tasty. That’s why I have multiple smiths.
One more thing. With only a few corn plants, they will need help with pollination. If you don’t give them help, it will lead to deformities. If the tassels are close enough, rub them together a couple times. 😊
Ur tomatoes are great and zucchini also for pot grown. If you want to do a garden veggies and stuff just buy 4×8 raised beds 10 inch tall and plant main crop stuff there
I get them from a guy named: Ulises Somarriba He usually has a link in figbid. He is also on all the major fig Facebook pages. He is a great dude. Hit him up!
Thanks for the support and watching! You can train anything… just don’t have the passion for tomatoes like i do for figs. Training takes a lot of time on something that grows as fast as tomatoes or even figs. The cannabis community trains their stuff. That’s prolly the closest thing to growing a tomato.
Love it .
Every tree looks heathy and nice❤❤❤
Love that you watched it!! Ty for the support!!

I’m considering it… if I still wanna do it. LOL
Missed you bro!
Thanks for always keeping me motivated!
Where did you get the metal name tags for your figs? I'd like to duplicate please.
I get them from a guy named: Ulises Somarriba
He usually has a link in figbid. He is also on all the major fig Facebook pages. He is a great dude. Hit him up!
New to your channel, I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before but what state/zone are you in?
Sorry I usually announce it at the start but I haven’t done it in the last videos… Elgin IL zone 6a now
What do you mean by "Basement Figs"?
I had this crazy idea of growing figs in my basement. My hobby started in the basement with 20 cuttings 3 years ago. Name stuck.
@@basementfigs Thanks for prompt response. I sincerely admire your passion. Keep it up.
those pot plants need more sun
The veggies!? I know. I know.
Never seen fig trees trained like that! Don’t see why you couldn’t train your tomatoes in some unnaturally unique way.
