Levi's the 4th contestant to moonscorch after Abella, Henryk, and Samarie. Henryk is extremely paranoid in the manor, Samarie had just killed Marina's father, and Abella most likely fell victim to the oppressing atmosphere of the bunker. Knowing Levi's life to now, I'm surprised he isn't the first to moonscorch. I guess he is used to being alone and it shows the extent of his mental toughness despite his addiction.
If you interact with Abella moonscorched corpse then you can see the woodsman's parasite is attached to her face (Even if you later fight the woodsman and he still has the parasite).
It sucks that a lot of time before picking up the game I knew that the characters get moonscorched. I would have liked to figure it out myself through dialogues like this
One of the first things I've done when I first started the game is that I tested what would happen if I waited 3 days, and then MC suddenly turned into a weird creature... I figured then
I played as Marina and in her animation it looks like she's shedding her skin so I assumed it's the same for everyone... Figured out the moonscorch thing somewhere around Abella/Henryk, I'm kind of dense, so it took a bit + I figured specifically because I figured out you get souls if you kill other contestants
And, interestingly, Marina is correct here. The doppelgängers running around emulate exactly what she describes. And funny enough, this also reflects her soul type: the changeling soul. In mythology (as far as I’m aware) changelings are fae creatures that were made to replace kidnapped human children. Another funny detail about this folklore is that all the symptoms of spotting a changeling are signs of autism and neurodivergence; ie hyperactivity, non compliance with social roles, hyper fixation, etc. It’s a strange little look into how autistic children were stigmatized before we had the language to describe them.
Apparently, you can save everyone if you played osaa or abella, i watched someone completing the game playing as osaa and he finished the game with all the characters alive but for some reasons osaa wasn't in the final cutseen. But yeah you can save them all

We can't be sure what the canon ending is until we get full confirmation or until the third game comes out
