  • Not as cool as a 777 pedestal, but still very cool!
    Today we'll be building a Cessna 172 Pedestal for a flight simulator. We'll also be installing a microphone.

    Loved the song! You know, I'm 48 - I still can't cut straight or get any measurement right, so I always plan for slop - and then have plenty of trim to cover up my mistakes.

      Thank you! It's always fun to cut it as needed - it's so much easier than measuring!

    Capt. Bob, this is a general question. I am using Altimeter Motives 172 panel. Building the frames etc. myself. Also using Logitech Yoke, Throttle, and Pedals. Having a problem determining height of seat, panel above floor, and position of pedals. When I get a comfortable arrangement I can just barely see over the panel at the computer screen (32" for now). I found a way to take one inch off the bottom of my panel where i have switches and such. I also enlarged the top trim to hide the left corner of the 23" monitor but think I need to just allow it to show as that is an additional 1.5" i can lower to help seeing the screen. All the photos of real pilots and sim pilots in the cockpit seem to be siting about like we would at a desk. Legs not extended to pedals. In most photos the pilot's eye level is at least 6" above the glare shield. I have tried finding photos or drawing of these arrangements from the side but don't seem to be able to locate any showing a cutaway of the panel, pedals, etc. Also maybe taper the glare shield down towards the front. Any suggestions would surely help. Tried all the Facebook groups without much success.

    Good job ! do the simkit trc gauges fit into your panel?

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  2 года назад +1

      I think TRC is slightly different.
      My instruments are to real aircraft specifications, so anything that fits in a real 172 should fit in mine.
      You can always adapt my design to your needs, or I can design you a custom one for TRC instruments: captainbobsim.com/services
