My first time watching, the cable in the sand was a big "wtf is this island?!"/hooked moments.
It definetely is one of these moments!
Danielle said she had to kill them because they were sick. "What would have happen if we were rescued?"
I always think that she meant she was afraid of the "sickness" spreading outside the island.

I do believe that Sayid did not actually torture her but made it appear that he did-like causing a bruise or something to show that he was “doing his job”.
And on another note, this group has quickly become my favorite of all LOST reactors that I’ve ever seen. The conversations after each episode are mind blowing.

I thought the opening Reatores animation was one bear as well, Victor. The bear runs up, opens the door and joins the group at the couch. That's how I see it anyway. I guess it's supposed to be two bears though.
Hahaha you know, my initial idea was actually the same bear going and sitting there with us. But, just as Lost does, we got more possibilities 😁

Olha, achei que eu não ia assistir esse novo grupo pq eu já assisti Lost umas 8 vezes, fora os reacts que eu já vi de vários. Mas essa turminha me pegou. Victor e Mayra são muito next level. Avançadíssimos. Fora que tem grandes chances de o Victor ser chorão igual eu, gosto muito dessa possibilidade.

I think Nadia was tortured by Sayid. But not physically, since she told him that her scars show that she won't talk with acid or a drill. I think Sayid must have reported this to his superior and decided on another torture: hunger. This way he did not arouse the suspicions of his superior about his loyalty and at night brought Nadya food. It was perfect until his superior lost patience and decided to move on to a more radical solution. Pushing Sayid to make Nadya escape.
A quick question that may be a spoiler:
Is there a neutral word in Brazilian for "child"? Because the translation of the episode gives "filho" when it may be a girl.
I don't want to discredit the two previous teams but this one seems very strong to me when it comes to dissecting the episodes and finding theories.😊

Here's what happens with the word "child" in Portuguese: "criança". It works for both genders. So, if we used that word, it could still keep the English meaning, that is, it could be a boy or a girl.
Thing is, in spoken language, it's much more common to use the word "filho", which officially means "son". However, it gets complicated because in spoken language, when someone says "filho", they might be referring to both genders, as if they were replacing the word "child" by "son" - which, I know, makes no sense if you want to mean both genders. But that's what actually happens here.
Anyway, at the end of the day, it's good for reactions, because it fools first-time viewers lol.

I have to say, I've never actually considered if Sayid tortured Nadia or not. We never see it happen. So, it's surely possible that he did.
That's one of those questions that Lost smartly leaves for us to wonder about!

Now that we've actually have proof that French chick is still on the island. I should mention my one rare problem with season 1 script.
Beginning with the pilot part 2 episode, the 815 survivors quickly assume that because the French chick's distress call is still on loop for 16 years, she couldn't have had been rescued till today. Everyone including Jack-Sayid (most logical duo) seems to believe that's the only possible case. I remember Jack confidently saying the exact sentence "she wasn't rescued" not even using the word "probably" or something. However, the distress call still going on doesn't necessarily mean she wasn't rescued at all. On the contrary, the basic logic should be, nobody in the right mind would care to get into a dangerous mysterious jungle that clearly had something "killed them all" and other dangerous animals, ONLY TO shut down a distress call when some long awaited rescue boat comes. Would you say to your saviours "Oh, I'm glad you've came along after all these months or maybe years of waiting, but could you just wait here a few days so I can turn my distress call off, which means I'll have to walk a long hike into to dangerous island and back which has something that killed all my friends in a short time?" I surely wouldn't even think about turning off the distress call in that case and focus on geting the hell out of the island asap... Even if the French lady somehow motivated to turn the distress call off, I think the rescuers would strictly discourage her as they wouldn't admit waiting there for days...
You might argue; if the rescue came, the island would be discovered and more people (maybe including the French chick) would come back and eventually turn the distress call off BUT it is also not necessarily the case. If the rescuers didn't have an advanced GPS or something (and they wouldn't have that up to 16 years back from 2004), and if they were somewhat changed their sailing direction to find the stress call and stuff they might even be somewhat vague about they're exact location when they reach the island, they'd have a general idea but not necessarily an exact location. So finding the island back wouldn't be an easy case even if someone came and went. They admit that later in late season 1 themselves for some other situation I won't mention here. Also also, if the French woman said there's something there it killed my friends, and she also say there's nothing really valuable, they might not be motivated to find there. (I'm basing this on what the 815 survivors know about the French woman, the distress call and the island so far)
Some of the same people that assumes this, also says "I don't want to miss a boat passing by because I'm in the caves" as if having a rotating crew for keeping the signal fire and scouting boats on the beach isn't enough to alert the cave residents if rescue comes, as if the rescuers won't wait for the cave residents, quickly take only the people already on the beach and leave...
Can anyone explain how the 815 survivors were ABSOLUTELY SURE that the French woman wasn't rescued just because the loop is still going on? Anything I'm missing?
My only guess would be: in such a stressful situation - bear in mind that by the end of episode 2, they had already been attacked by both monster and polar bear - people tend to expect for the worse to happen. So, having such bad news - the message is still running in a loop for 16 years - all they could think of was "we're screwed".
Kinda like when you can't find where you parked the car and you think "damn, somoene stole my car". Of course, you eventually find your car. And the 815 survivors eventually consider other options.
But I'm totally with you on the beach vs. cave thing. I understand it was meant to create drama - and it works for me - but what you said there makes sense.

Danielle é muito boa uma personagem que não da para saber se ta louca ou se esta mais lucida de toda a situação.
Para mim o Sayid torturou a Nadia de forma leve pois o chefe dele fala que acabou o tempo.
agora o Victor ta certo tortura pode chegar no nivel que ele falou e ai o Sayid e a Nadia podem ter aproveitado por se amarem e fingirem que era uma agressão contra ela.
Siiim, adoro essa dualidade da Rousseau! Toda pinta de doida, mas também falando coisas que podem ser muito verdade!
Nadia tells Sayid that if she is released, they won't have these visits to look forward to anymore. This doesn't sound like something someone would say if they were being physically tortured during these visits. So it seems highly unlikely to me that Sayid did this to her.
And while we already know that 'Solitary' can refer to numerous different things in the episode (including Nadia's solitary confinement), it might be even telling us that 'solitary' was the specific form of Nadia's torture.

Regarding Nadia, it definetely doesn't sound like something you would say to a torturer... and that's pure Lost, isn't it? It gives us some pieces of the puzzle, but there's one or two missing and each person imagine a different piece to fit the hole.

A mim também, era mais verossímil que ele "seguisse em frente" com a Nadia, porém como a temática era que todos esperassem pra seguirem juntos, preferiram encaixar a Shannon. Eu nem achei o relacionamento deles aquela Coca-Cola toda, mas entendi o que eles quiseram fazer. Enfim. Escolhas de Damon e Carlton...
