The first one. It's not even a close call.
Agreed. 100%
Agreed. It's the only one without a speed ramp, and I hate speed ramping.
I felt the second one captured more of the essence of a Sonata and had a good balance of all three. First one was beautiful, but it was a bit too Lamborghini IMO. Could've been more suitable if it was the Sonata N line or Veloster.
Over all very nice vere creative. but Landon is the winner
pal2tech definitely the first one. It's because of the voice over.
1. Has the vibe of buying the car.
2. Too fast but its okay
3. Shows all the features.
The first one is better!
Agreed, 3 is more of an exhibition of features, 2 is just way too fast, 1 is the best I think.
I vote for 1 but with the sky replacement from 3
Jos4_ Tv the frist ☝️
hi
2nd is not fast, it just gave us much lesser content to consume. Thats why it feels fast.
OH DAMMIT THE FIRST ONE IS THE ABSOLUTE WINNER DUDE.
Agree
We all just willingly clicked on the longest advertistment ever
Worth it!
Exactly...😆😆🤣🤣
Joke’s on your I skipped the ads buddy... oh wait.
@SeanPerrin are u sure about that?
@@lexRTD. lol.
I'm going to wear my art director hat and give my thoughts.
1st Edit by Landon: The craft in this edit is very impressive. The sound design is superb. The establishing shots to set up the mood was great. It felt like watching a trailer of a racing movie. I really love the small details he added as mentioned by Parker. And that VO, another good touch. However, one of the things we do in advertising is to make sure that you tell the audience what's in it for them. And I didn't get any apart from it being a new kind of sedan.
2nd Edit by Jake: Very interesting edit. Love the use of the countdown effect to showcase the features of the car. I love that he used the yelling clip to show how enjoyable it is to drive the car. It told me what I would feel if I had this car. However, I didn't like the sound design since it sounded like a motorbike instead of a powerful car. I also have some issues with the flow of the cuts. Some have too long of a cut, some were a bit quick.
3rd Edit by Parker: The music is awesome. The small details really made the clips better. I like the linear approach of storytelling - starting the car, driving it, then parking it. However, I felt like it was telling me too much. It cramped so may features at once that I didn't catch some of them. I thought the car allows you to message or call someone from your phone. But on second look, you can charge your phone, and use your car's GPS to navigate. Those are two different features in 5 seconds.
Overall, my winner would be Jake. It's clear that this is a sporty car that every guy will enjoy driving. It's fun, it's fast, it's a car you're excited to drive. Like a countdown, always looking forward to that moment when you can just own it. He told a clear story, showed what it is for the consumer, and didn't cramp too many features that you don't get anything from the ad. So congrats Jake!
This was such a fun video that RUclips recommended and I hope to see more of this! Subscribed.
I LIKE THIS- NICE ONE-
Nice analysis !! Even i liked jakes edit ...
5:21 Here's the first one incase u wana replay
Thanks
Thanks 👌
Its so fire wtf
Thank you
Thanks.. U read my mind..
I’ve just watched an 11 minutes add by my own ... wtf
Good point :)
Lol
Mister M4GIC haha
5Head plan
Nothing wrong with ads, they're art
The first one definitely has put the rules on the table.
•Nice sound work
•Very dynamic
•Loved the bird scene
•Voice over nailed the competition
Would have been cool (yet cliched) for the bird to hop into the road, brakes slam on and the voice over "heart racing performance, heart stopping safety ".
3rd one
1st was SICK, but the 3rd showing the features is key.
I think the same
Nah...I think same too
I watched each twice, one to see the commercial and the second for the reactions lol....Awesome job guys. 🙌🏽
Same
The second one was cool.
The first made me think this is a cool ad.
But the last one actually makes me wanna BUY the car.
First one was like a teaser.
totally agree
I was about to say you've lost your mind but... you're right the last one shows off all the features of the car easily
Samee
Second one had f1 engine noise in a Hyundai tho
I think the cherry on top element that makes the 1st pop up is the sound design plus the voiceover.
Plus the roadrunner at the beginning...subtle touch that kinda whispers 'speeeeeed' in the background.
Great perspectives.
1. Landon - builds suspense, vibes, and mystery around an upcoming edition of the car. Makes me want to know more.
2. Jake - focuses on speed and agility of the car...what I think will appeal to younger millennials
3. Parker - focuses on basic features and the driving experience
All were very good, and this was great to see a little behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing the perspective.
The first commercial made me contact a Hyundai dealer rn. Got an Accent 1.5 and applying now for an upgrade. Hyundai should treat you guys well. You're all awesome!
I would with go with Parker’s edit simply b/c it highlighted the features of the car while also being aesthetically pleasing! The sky layering and last bit w/the logo were also dope aesthetic, yet functional, additions too! Everyone’s edit was amazing in their own ways though and as a team you guys are unstoppable
The first one was great, the voice over made it another level
Hi Parker 😉
I would buy just because of how different Hyundai team is thinking and the fun energy that's pumped into making this.
I see the difference in edits.
Landons vid is like: If you did not know, now you know, this car exists.
Jake's video is about to get it know better, you already know it does exist. So you wanna check it out, what does it look like.
And finally, Parkers video is after those two, you know it does exist, you know what does it look like, and now you know what it is capable of. Nice job everyone.
IF YOU'RE IN FOR THE BEST BROLL, THE FIRST ONE DEFINITELY NAILED IT. BUT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR AN AD BEFORE BUYING THE CAR, PARKER WALBECK DID THE RIGHT THING! Cheers to all of you!
That overcast helped you a lot with reflections which are a huge pain to deal with on dark colored cars. You all did great, every video had its PROS!
I'm here for
1. 5:21
2. 6:32
3. 7:50
😊😊😊😊😊
Good job boiii
It's cool seeing how different people approach a project
I fricking love all of them but the engine sounds just don't fit
What did you expect from a Korean Brand?! To have an insane V8 or twin turbocharged V6?
@@AboTurkiPro Kia Stinger?
This model is the 1.6T so it has an inline 4. First ad has a V6 sound which is fine since we don't see the badge and there is a V6 model of the car, but the F1-like engine sound in the second is a little weird. Last one is the only one that uses actual engine sound I think.
@@AboTurkiPro That's not the point, I'm saying it's false advertising. Also, Kia stinger has a twin turbo V6
The right engine sfx are hard to find
I don't usually leave comments on RUclips, but... WOW! Loved this video altogether. From the outstanding edits to your reactions, everything was spot on. Congrats to the entire team!
LANDON AND JAKE NAILED THE EDITING
PARKERS WAS VERY SUITABLE FOR an AD only
Hyundai is making some nicely designed cars these days
hahahaha
That's true!
back is copied from bmw
1. A sports sedan
2. A fun sedan
3. Has a good blend of Features + content from both the others.
So its 3 for me!
Had to get u 2 100 likes g
Keep in mind Parker spent 32 seconds editing his.
Most probably around 25 seconds by now..
Parker's video edited itself, traveled back in time to hours before shooting began so he'd know which shots would need to exist for it to be built. In hindsight...it didn't know it would be the worst one because in it's timeline they didn't compete...but if it did it would've only taken 4 seconds.
I’m not car review videographer.this video is so educated to me, I learned about the important tips in my videography journey.thank you guys
first one, love the way he built a kind of tension at the begining with cactus broll, sound of car and then reveal of the car
Honestly with the first video, I actually loved how when you guys say "wow are you kidding me" gets incorporated into the last frames. I thought it was actually part of the video until I shortly realized it was your reactions. Great job to all 3 of you!
The first one was the better edit for a few reasons. The second utilized too much slow motion for the exterior driving. It was trying to envoke speed and quick pace with the music and sfx of the car.
The third was my second place. I think it showed a lot of the great features which really sell the car, but also is able to show off the sportiness of it as well. The only thing that I really didn't like was the phone call. It just felt out of place and killed the pace of the video.
Just a couple thoughts. Footage looked awesome!
Yeah the phone threw me off. Combine the first with the third and remove the phone and you have an awesome ad
It's actually not about who was the best, it's that all three could've worked as different commercials! They all served different purposes, for example, Parker's utilized the features of the cars a lot, while Landon cut it straight to the point and gave a thrilling video. In the end, they were all great, and they serve the professional quality an advertisement agency strives for. So there's no winner for me.
Pershingoholic The Otaku nope. U r wrong. Sry bud
Baustin Okay man. Apparently I'm wrong. Excuse me while I head out.
خایه مال رو سگ گایید
6:39 In my opinion the second edeting has a mistake.... the voice over says 7 Abs in the Background you see a 6. So i think it don't fit very well
was thinking exactly same thing
he could have used that clip for the 6th voice over count
That's not exactly a mistake, it's a flaw.
Your mostly focusing on the car that’s what the whole ad is about so it dosnt matter too much but as a graphic designer myself I could see how it can bother but the way he placed those shots is in pretty good order but it could easily be fixed with a mask or how Ryan aloc said changed the order
*As a previous car salesman going into videography, I will say I liked the last one the most because it showed features. As a customer, they like to see the look of the car but also what it comes with. All were super good that I hope to one day achieve.*
The best one is the one that best meets the client requirements ;)
Here’s a tip I learned from the first one; when you have fast shots, the viewer has no time to properly look at the car and so it encourages him to check out the car more, maybe on the website etc.
Exactly. There is just energy u need to move forward and find out more about the car.
The first one feels so dynamic with the V.O and it has some mysteries about the technologies of the car, this means for me that i'm gonna search more for Sonata.☺
I love Landon's Edit. Reasons: 1.There was anticipation 2. Adrenaline rush 3. Incorporation of the location in a way that brought life 4. Good sound design 5. Great Voice over 6. Ending was on a high note with the screech effect, dust and filling up the grey sky with Sonata text. I must say all other videos are equally great. Jake vid has a cool feminine vibe which is also good a for a stylish car. Parker's Vid gives you all the features of the car and this is also a great selling point.
The voice over and dust effects of the first one combined with the tech-feature shots of the last one. BOOM!
Though Parker's video showed off all features
1st 1 (Landon's) was the best in my opinion
1st: Parkers edit: shows all the features that make me actually want to consider researching/buying the car.
2nd: Landons edit: to the point and very cinematically pleasing on the ears and eyes. Definitely an eye catcher but not enough seen for me to consider the car.
3rd: Jakes edit: High quality edit and love the countdown but the shots after the countdown were too slow. Cutting out the wide drone shots and using the fast paced closeups and that were shown right after would've bumped it up in my opinion.
Great job to all three of you! Each one could easily be seen on TV. Thanks for bringing us along!
The first one was great, but it makes the person seeing the ad think that the new Sonata is a sporty car, which it isn't. I think that the last one was the best if we take into account that it actually showed what this car is all about. That's just my 2 cents.
The first was my favorite because brought out an emotional response of wanting to buy that car. All were great for other reasons though that is why most car companies use more than one ad for the same car. Different people react differently to the same thing.
Jake got that one for sure!
I mean they are all great videos for being 'film' style
But Jake was the only one focusing on the car for the whole video and picking the right shots imo
Landons was my favorite however Parker’s would get me to buy the new car
All of them approached the same idea in different ways:
Landon: wanted to edit it like a superbowl ad like he said. Professional and getting the point across: it's sleek, fast, and very tempting to buy, nothing more nothing less
Jake: His style for me worked better as a atroytelling device, having that experience of driving the car, not so much focused on showing it off but saying that these are the moments that you can have when you buy it.
Parker: As most comments say, his style showcases more of the features and details that the car has and targets viewers that are more interested and knowledgable of cars.
All of them are valid options for a car ad and it depends on the viewers and their personal preference. But at the end of the day, Landon's edit is much more professional as an ad
Second guy should have used the clip with the "6" in the parking lot matched up with the "six" that the woman says in the music. Missed opportunity there.
j.alexander.clark I know right
Wanted to say the same
I can't even imagine how he could have decided to not match that up, unless he was rushing and just didn't notice.
Yah i had the same thought
I cant find the SIX in the parking lot
I like how Parker edited his commercial in 1 and a half hour
My fave is the 1st one. When he said it was Superbowl commercial material I thought he was being cocky but it really was. Gg to you all, they're all brilliant
The first one is perfect for commercial ads. The voice over makes it complete, Loved it.❤️
In Landons Edit, every shot is motivated, makes it the winner for me.
I feel like Landon's is something I would see on TV.
Jake's is something I would see as a RUclips ad.
And Parker's looks like the opening b-roll of a RUclips review of the car.
Landon's made me want to learn more about the car, Jake's made me want to buy the car, and Parker's told me everything I needed to know about the car.
Landon won though hands down.
Sorry I'm jus seeing tis jus now. Jake and Landen has done their edit to show a great car. The voice used in both of their video is classic. Awesome. They showed a great car like to attract people buy the car. But urs on the other hand concentrated on showing the features if the car which is cool in a sense. So all 3 have done a great job. I love seeing all of ur videos. Keep doin videos as a team. Really love it
I think the first one is my favorite. The beginning gives a suspense that makes you say to yourself "what car is that?? it sounds legit!" and then you get teased and then theres the final reveal. Super awesome! My only feedback is that it sounds more powerful than it is. The wide shots of the car make the car look like its going much slower than the sound. And then when we see the speedometer, you would think that it would say 80-90, but it reads 64. So somehow making those match would have been nice. But that's it. It looked stellar. Same with the other edited. Well done, guys!
I loved Landon’s right off. I love his choice of footages, editing style and voice over at the end. But as always, all 3 of you are pros and I appreciate and find your tutorials helpful.
Landon's edit seemed more like a professional ad!
Loved all three. You each had your own focus; Parker on 'Features,' Jake on 'Fun,' and Landon on 'Power.' I can see Hyundai using all three targeted at different groups. Good work. But I have to go with Landon's. His edit not only shows off the car - it tells a story, "something's coming." And that VO just seals the deal.
Yes! Each commercial could easily be aired in different regions to appeal more to people.
Hyundai marketing team: How can we pay for a normal ad and get 11 min of advertisment
The silent guy in the back: Hold my beer.
1. Gives you a sense of freedom and power. Makes me want to buy the car as an escape.
2. Fun - but only one suggestion which is that during the countdown, when "5" and "4" were shown, they were somewhat similar shots. Could have used "5" and "4" to display other features. Or even cut the countdown to the last 5 seconds, and show the most outstanding features. Then if Jake really wanted to show the clip of Parker getting into the car, he could have used that before the countdown started as a whole clip rather than breaking it down to two clips.
3. Makes me want to buy the car because I know what I'm getting
I loved how Landon added road runner in there!
The edits were great, but can we just appreciate the level of energy Parker shows while doing this😂 Very fun to watch
I just watched 11 minutes of ad, with two interrupting ads in between the 11 minute ad
It is very difficult to judge between each of shot man !!! Each of your shots are Outstanding, Professional & Best.
all of the edits is really good ! but I think for the commercial the first one fits the most ! good job y'all!
1 Landon, 2 Parker, 3 Jake. All were well done.
Thanks for the video Parker, good stuff!
I've been working as an editor in advertising for 18 years, Parker's edit would be the one that would be picked by any client. It showed all the features of the car in an incredibly attractive way. Clients always say, "We want something 'out of the box'" but then end up going with the "safe choice" 9/10 times.
The first edit was pretty good as well, but it didn't actually sell the car, showing why anyone would want to buy it. The middle edit was a little cheesy with the overdone countdown IMO.
All of them are excellent but #1 is the one that deliveres better the excitement of driving fast!
First one totally sold me mainly because of the audio editing and voice-over.
so no ones gonna talk about that he paid a guy a hundred bucks for a voice over. cool
But that voice sounds like a guy trying to sell me a pick up track for ranching. It totally killed the mood achieved up to that point.
@@LiveMusicOntario 😂😂😂😂
I love the voice over tho
@@LiveMusicOntario lmaoo
Yes
Definitely 1st one. Landons!! bravo all of you guys
I liked all 3 and watched these as a customer and not someone looking at video edits. I think the first one over sold the speed and power of the car. If I'm a car buyer and I hear all the revving from the car in the background and you show that you're only going 63 MPH it will just feel like the car can't actually go fast and might fall apart. I would either pull down the sound effect or don't show the speed. That's why I voted for #3 because it showed off the features which will sell the car too.
the first one is so commercial, the second is somehow will manage to youths because it's less commercial but gonna be a great if the target audience is youths, the third is showing more features and more explainer. if i'm the client i may be very confuse to choose, hahahaha. this video so great, thank you guys.
I completely love the first one, but buying the car I’d have to go with the 3rd video because of the details of the car you used. Mixing all 3 videos you can get a amazing commercial
Now I want that car too.
Great commercial. Love your work guys! Landons video is my favorite one 😊
The only thing sticking out for me in Jake's video is the countdown saying "7" but this segment is showing "6" for the floor number. I haven't completed the whole video yet, but that stood out pretty BIG for me in his. Awesome ad though for sure! (6:40)
Tygastripe yeah it bugged me too
Yes!
Wow! That was just a very nice demonstration of how much impact a voice over has on the video.
I really like Landon's the most just cause of the voice over😅😉
Honestly, the 3 edits were soo soo good. But, the 3rd and last edit showed many features of the car, so i prefer the 3rd one.
The first one you show to the customers, the second one to your private staff, the third one to investors to pitch the car and the company. all three are great for a variety of purposes
That first was a winner before watching the other two! haha
sound like a fast car... until you see the car.. LOL
I re watched and the 1st one is my favorite
The first one was the most professional edit, however, the third one would make me buy the car. The first one would just make me say "dang, the person/company who did this killed it!"
Ok going out to get a Hyundai Sonata 2020 right now.
The second one was sick. BUT, Jack missed a minor (but important) detail : when the countdown was on 7, the image was showing the number 6 on the wall behind the car. Should've kept this shot for the 6 on the countdown
Okay, my favorite was the first one, it just seemed like the most cohesive one.
I liked the second one two, but the thing that bugged me the most was that transition from the wheel to the drone, I felt like they were spinning in different directions, and it broke the momentum of the edit.
Voice over killed it
I have no doubt Parker has incredible videographer skills, but I wonder how good of a leader he is. More than exalting yourself, Good teams exalt each other, not one person. Thats the secret to get further than we could imagine
All the three videos were awesomely satisfying... I loved the video made by Landen because i liked how it has been shown off in a swag way!
Fav one number 1
5:21 Landon's video
6:33 Jake's video
7:48 Parker's video
I think Parker’s shows the features, so if the goal is to sell the car then he wins.
Exactly, people forget, what are commercials good for! Everyone was buffled by that awesome voiceover, but commercials should be informative and stylish, not just stylish.
I dare say I loved the 1st and the 3rd one but as a customer the 3rd one would sell me the car immediately because it showcases all the features the car has! The 1st one showcased the design of the car and the 2nd one was very well structured! The 3rd one though was the best because of the reason I mentioned above and also because of that ending which felt and looked amazing! Good job to all of you guys👏👏
Hi guys. 3 different styles, they all work. But there's no doubt about it, the first one is the most impressive. Good job!
Damn... that's really a big deal..
Congratulations..man
Landons edit made me immersive into the video , Parker you sir pretty much told everything about the car , Jake's was good did like the music choice ,
Landon is the winner ..
A output from Parker and Landon combined would be great ad ❤️
The Philharmonic Studios you were in my thoughts bro👍🏻
@@mwasikivinge6980 😇
Landen edit was amazing 😅 and he paid 100$ on fiver for the voiceover 😂
Actually, you guys did a great job. But I like the last video because of the detailed features of the car. And I think the ad was specifically pinpointing on the features of the car and why people should buy it. The combination of some the 2nd video shot with the 3rd will be mind-blowing and not forgetting about the 1st video voice over, it draws the attention of the viewer keeping him/her in a position to expect something big.
1st edit : Has a vibe of buying it and has a commercial touch. (can use for mainstream media)
2nd edit : it was fast paced and had great shots and was very dope but not for commercial purposes (can use for social media)
3rd edit : all the features and it makes you want to buy it. ( can use for showrooms)
