Honestly, everything Mel sees in her fires IS accurate. It's her interpretations of those images, that mess her up. She assumed the "girl in gray on a dying horse" was Jon's sister, which is a mistake I might have made as well. Especially w/out knowing about all of Jon's family, or his family's friends.
@@KabbalahSherry oh for sure! The Boltons absolutely didn't already attack Stannis. The last time we saw Stannis' army Theon arrived with fake Arya. If Ramsay slew Stannis he would already have his "wife and reek back".
Not necessarily. The order of the chapters isn't always chronological. For example in the last Barristan chapter the dragons are freed but it then happens afterwards. George has said this himself and obviously affc and adwd overlap a lot instead of being before and after. I think there is a theory that the battle of ice already happened at that point and for example the preview chapter of twow was in the past. It seems weird and I don't remember what it was but I think there is actually some good evidence for this. (Minor spoiler upcoming for the Theon twow preview chapter) There are also theories that either Stannis or Mance could've written the letter. The description is very different from the other two letters ramsay sent like the smeared ink which I believe was mentioned to be perfect before or something about the handwriting was different I believe. Stannis could want to bait Jon into joining him and Mance could play his own game but id remember what his motives are speculated to be. In any case I don't believe Stannis will die or is dead. In the twow chapter we learn that Theon has informed him of Arnolf Karstark's plan to betray him and he seizes him. He also probably plans to lure the Frey army onto the ice lakes, faking the position of his whereabouts (that's pretty certain) and the Manderlys will change sides. Stannis will probably fake his death and have the Manderlys return to Winterfell with Lightbringer to prove it. He even said to the guy who is hiring saleswords that he might hear Stannis has died and it might even be true so it seems likely he already had something like this in mind maybe
Tbh Jon kinda had it coming, if there was one thing he should’ve listened to, it should’ve been to heed Melisandre’s warning of “daggers in the dark”. He knew all of his actions at that point were unpopular with a good portion of his team, he should’ve been more wary of his company.
The thing is. Jon has been reasonable with his orders, the only thing he could feasibly do to remove the entrenched blinding wool. Is send people out into the woods to learn for themselves 'the more people die, the more dead walk'
Absolutely, just chapter before he was saying all smug that if Stannis kills him for releasing Val, they could choose a Lord Commander more of their liking. So stupid, he seems to forget what happen to the previous Lord Commander. The watch did not wait for a King to kill him...
Just like how Robb was called "The Young Wolf" by his men, post-resurrection Jon will be know in the North as "The White Wolf"(or "The Wolf With Dragon's Blood" If he's reborn knowing about R+L=J and tell to everyone in the North)!
@@jamienava6750 Jon is 100% coming back, I can't imagine anything else, it has been foreshadowed too many times, not to mention it wouldn't make sense when there's so much he needs to do and find about his true parentage and especially with Melisandre being there.
Jon is easily one of my favorite characters in this series but he’s doing the most here. U can’t save everyone all the time. Worse he keeps going to the same people for advice WHEN HE KNOWS THEY DONT APPROVE. Either get them off your counsel, or stop going to these same people telling them all these things that are just gonna come off offensive and key them into your plans. The nights watch have already shown they don’t have a problem killing a lord commander. Like jeez stubborn much Plus no matter what he feels about the free folk he has to remember that the rest of them haven’t been through the stuff with them that he has. They haven’t fought with them or loved one of them. They’ve only ever opped with them. Of course they’re not gonna fw them, emotionally, historically, pragmatically. He was asking for betrayal.
cant count the years since i read these words in the book.... yet now as i heard them again it hit even harder knowing we not know w what truly lay ahead....
I first read this cliff-hanger of a chapter when I was in Year 7. Finished middle school, graduated high school, moved countries twice in the next 6 years, finished my bachelors. Still waiting to see what's next!
tbh i’m also sort of confused why jon thinks rescuing the wildlings at hardhome will work. i’m not against jon bringing wildlings through the wall but like… the last ranging had them lose more than half their men. every ranging has been a failure. everyone is worried about losing more nights watch and weakening the watch even further, so why go again? idk it always seemed like a losing battle with no good outcome.
Tormund was brought back by Val. They are clearly able to find wildlings and bring them back to and through the wall. They need the castles along the wall manned, and the wildlings have the numbers to do that. Jon needs them and they need him.
i feel terrible for everyone who’s sat with this for over a decade now i barely know how im gonna be able to handle what’ll likely be years as well but y’all could literally have had a baby from when y’all read this over a decade ago and it could very well graduate high school before winds of winter ever comes out y’all are some of gods strongest soldiers man
If he'll get POVs in TWOW and probably has another name due to R+L=J (if it's canonised in the books as well and Jon discovers about this during his time inside Ghost due to visions send by BloodRaven and/or Bran), the titles of his POVs post-resurrection will possibly be with his real name, I think it's either Aemon or Jaehaerys!
@@seanschwetz7025 If he's named Aemon, it would be an homage to the famous Dragonknight and Maester Aemon (whom Rhaegar had a close relationship), if he's named Jaehaerys, it would be an homage to the Conciliator and Rhaegar's grandfather, and Jon is kind of a conciliator himself!
As soon as I heard “Ghost would have followed as well but as the wolf came padding after them Jon grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and wrestled him back inside “ I knew this is where Jon dies. So WoW begins with Jon waking up inside of Ghost right?
Bruh the way you said "Or else I will cut out your bastards heart AND EAT IT" gave me goosebumps lol. The sudden and brutal way with which you accentuated that part in capslock even scared me a bit lmao. I love your work. You are very talented. Thank you for making us reexperience ASoIaF in a new and awesome way :)
So many small details that can be unpacked this chapter. I know a lot of people think he will die and be resurected. I doubt it. Because if he dies and rises as a wight or is raised as a fire zombie, Jons herritage becomes irrelavant, no mater who his mother is he can never have children as a zombie. Also we lose his PoV witch would suck quite a lot. For starters Jons blood is described as smoking, now it could be its just steam, but the author chooses this word for a specific reason, As we saw in Dany and Quentyns chapters dragon blood also smokes when exposed. I think the description is aluding to Jons targaryen blood, and to R+L=J. Then the wounds themselves and how he receives them, he just left rhe shield hall, the night at the wall is rather cold and jon has left the hall in a hurry, i think he isnt wearing his warm cloak and clothing because he has been rushing around a lot. Witch means hes probably getting chilly but not feeling it because of his emotional distress. He even feels very cold after he colapses, maybe the adrenaline was wearing off and he started feeling it. Then during the chaos he is cornered and stabbed and left to bleed out in the snow. Thing is, if he was just stabbed and is bleeding thats one of the best places to be bleeding out, because at the wall he is very cold and is bleeding in snow.because cold temperature thickens the blood, makes it clot easier and makes bleeding a lot slower, its a principle used in modern medicine, during opperations patients often have theyr blood cooled to lesen bleeding. Thats how heart opperations are done, the patients blood is slowly cooled untill his heart stops, once its done its warmed back slowly and the heart is shocked back into action. As Maester Aemon said, fire consumes but the cold preserves. So how serious are his wounds and how will he be saved? His first wound is a shallow cut in the neck, since jon can still fight a bit, and manages to talk, its apears not that deep, second is a gut wound, witch is were most of his blood loss happens, third is a stab to the back and depending on were it is it may not be as serious as well, i assumed it was upper back, if it hit his ribs, or shoulder plate it may be that the wound isnt lethal. 4th wound is unknown because Jon passes out because of blood loss and shock. There are plenty of characters who have passed out and were revealed to have lived, Tyrion, Jaime, Briene and Bran all experience this. Dany after her miscarriage colapses from bloodloss and shock just like jon, in fact she floats in her bath like a corpse for a while even. Now what kind of medical help is available at the wall and how could Jon be healed? For starters you have the resident Maester Clydas, who is rather skilled for not being a chained maester, he isnt mentioned to be anywhere near jon so he can be discounted. There is also Warrior-Witch Morna Whitemask, witches are healers in freefolk culture, and her being a warrior would imply she is skilled at dressing fighting wounds. We have no clue were she is but she is an option. Then my personal favorite choices Mel and Val, Val is in the tower very close to were Jon is and Mel just left the Shieldhall and is around as well. Val has already shown herself to be wise, recourcfull and brave. And Mel is very skilled in healing arts. We even see a red priest healing a mortal wound with Moqoro and Vic. I think after the mutiny both will rush to Jon and perform some magical ritual to save his life. I think Jons dream about being armored in black ice aludes to how he will be healed with Mels magic he might have a blackened body similiar to Vics hand.

Totally random ... I'm listening to this at the end of December and "Silent Night" was playing for the last few minutes of the chapter. It really made the scene a little more horrifying. I love it.
First I thought one of the wildling Wargs possessed one of the crows to take Jon out by his confusion, (which would explain Jon's direwolf reaction earlier too past just a sense something's off, but defense reaction to the wargs trying to take it), but after the second guy seemed legit more like was pushed to it , We've seen 2 people come back from the dead and they both lost aspects of their character. So if he does get rezd I think he will be a different version of the Jon here . Maybe more distant & more like the wargs with giantsbane, more tapped into it. If not already warging around animals
It’s funny how Ramsy loves calling Jon a bastard but he is one two and acts more like a bastard than Jon ever did also to mention Jon is truly the heir to the iron throne
I really wanna believe mance wrote the pink letter because i think it’d be so much cooler than Ramsay writing it but let’s be realistic we’ve had over a decade to speculate on it when really Ramsay prob wrote it
I really put off listening to this chapter knowing how it ends. After seeing so many theories on how Jon will come back I just want TWOW so badly so we know how it happens..
Am I the only one that thinks Jon was a poor leader? Failed to sway his own brothers, often smug, arguably traitorous and easily triggered by the bastard. Good riddance, I say.
@lordvasuki4987 his brothers were idiots void of all reason. I don't know where you think he was ever "smug" - irritated, yes, but who wouldn't be when dealing with people so retarded that they are more concerned with turnips than with literal freaking zombies? As for traitorous? Arguably in his final decision to march south...but the assassination was planned earlier as evidenced by ghost attacking the conspirators in the morning. He made errors, but these errors were due to his insecurity of leadership. He should have kept a tail and projected power. He also should have eaten with the men and followed Ned's lead by inviting a different brother and/or wildling to sit with him each meal. Not telling his brothers about the debt to procure food all winter was a dumb move as well, and sending his friends away, but keeping his enemies close was also a fatal mistake.
"Let them die" First lines never disappoints. It's really a downer, but when you think about it Jon's life is a duty. Mayhaps he should die a hero, and mayhaps bringing him back as another Stoneheart would be a another fuck you to the reader. I might be right, but what matters is that I said "mayhaps", so I won. I'm The Lord of the Crossing, and you got fooled. Unless...
Jon had been pushing them with alot of his decisions to bring the wildlings in, as well as to travel to hardhome, which in all honesty is probably completely obliterated now, but the point that sealed his fate was when he openly declared he was riding south. While dead, a full blown breakout of fighting is probably going to be unleashed between the watch and the wildlings. I think it will take Melisandre bringing him back to stop it.
Does Jon have any sort of control over his warging abilities? I always felt as though he was closer to Ghost than some of the other Stark children were to their own wolves. Jon assumed that Ghost was angry because of the boar, but was it in any way possible for him to take a peek inside him to see what was truly up?
Nah, If I would have to rate the Stark kids warging powers it would be something like this: 1.-Bran: he broke the matrix and became everything, everywhere. 2.-Rickon: he's so young he hasn't even form an ego of his own. Being a child going through that much trauma I believe he is getting lost between the wolf and himself. I would not be surprised if he starts to forget how to speak next time we see him. 3.-Arya: she is super wild and fierce like her wolf, and can warg into her while being a whole sea apart. She even starts warging into cats. 4.-Jon: Varamyr says his gift is strong, but he already is an outbreaker, half-wilding bastard, he doesn't need to be call a warg too so he pushes away this conection. 5.-Robb: who knows how many times Grey Wind saved his ass during the war and he guided him through the hills into the westerlands: how do you comunicate something like this to a wolf? I believe he was pretty close to Grey Wind before meeting Jeyne, but did not want to appear crazy infront of his subjects so he kept quiet. 6.-Sansa: she and Lady were very alike too but that conection got severed too early. Who knows how this magic works? Maybe Lady is still somewhere inside Sansa's mind. I think naturally all the Starks have a similar power but Bran getting his reality so violently shattered was forced to open his third eye.
Jon can be so frustrating. He wants to do the right thing but he doesn’t understand how unrealistic it is. Young and too idealistic. A leader needs to know their limits. You can’t save everyone and you need to keep your friends and your dire wolf close.
I dort understand the way the end unfolds. If Queensmen, Wildlings and Crows are "gathering around" at the sight of Wunwun and Jon commands his brothers to keep them at bay, can't they see the others stabbing Jon? Specially the Wildlings. Or like the don't arrive in time and Bowen Marsh is stupid enough to think the Wildlings will just let it be specially after the support shown in the Hall....
There are some fans who say that Bowen, Alliser and other members of the Watch were plotting with people send by Cersei to kill Jon to make an event similar to the Red Wedding that begins with Jon's death, if this is true, then I think Tormund, Gerreck Red-Beard, Borrock with his boar, Gilly's baby and others won't make it through this event!
Tyrion's trial, especially with shae's testimony that has everyone in the red keep laugh at tyrion is gut-wrenching. I don't blame him for being so violent.
Theory 1. Melisandre sent it to stop Jon from going to Hardhome because she believed it was a lost cause, not wanting Jon to die there. Theory 2. Ramsay sent it after receiving false news of Stannis’ defeat, likely after hearing it from the Manderlys (and possibly the Karstarks)
Why did Jon break his oath? Clearly his sister is safe since Ramsay demands his wife in the letter which means Ramsay doesnt have his wife with him. Ramsay says he knows about Mance. Ramsay threatens to eat Jon's heart. Does he decide to break his oath to save Mance? That makes no sense. Does he decide to meet Ramsay to protect queen selyse, shireen, val and "monster"? if Ramsay is gonna attack castle back Jon can surely defend with all the men he has.
he didn't really break his oath as he outright explained in the chapter, Ramsay made a direct threat to his life, answering that threat isn't breaking his vows and he has every reason to want to save Mance as Mance is an important figure for the wildlings, all of which will want him to be saved knowing he is alive.
He cannot defend castle black from Ramsay. If Ramsay comes it will be from the south. None of the castles of NW along the wall don't have walls around them as they have no quarrel to the lords of the realms. Their enemies are to the north and to the north they have the Wall. So, it makes sense to Jon that he leaves Castle black with force and probably hoping to gather new forces from the remnants of Stannis host and northern clans and somehow defeat Ramsay and kill him. There is no use of negotiation with Ramsay.
Fun wordplay from Martin: 29:18 Jon Snow: “The night is dark & and the paths will be slippery with snow.” They’ll be slippery alright, with Snow’s blood! Genius foreshadowing
GRRM never redoes his ideas tho. He said himself that he finds it best when the main characters stay dead. Catelyns return was only a thing to make it different from the usual killing and never coming back. I don't think GRRM will take advantage of that and start resurrecting all the good characters.
Queen Celise's voice is just perfect! Poor Jon Snow all he got was daggers in the dark and only felt the cold. Jon should have listened 2 Melisandre and kept Ghost close.
Does anyone think maybe it was his own brothers who wrote the pink letter? To me it makes sense because they could claim that’s why they killed him. Treason. He was going to ride north for a family matter and maybe that’s all the needed to get the deed done.
How would they know about Mance being alive and being sent to Winterfell with 6 spearwives? How would they know about Reek? How would they know about "Arya Stark" and Reek escaping Winterfell? It makes no sense for the Night's Watch to write the letter. Are you a bot?
@@Caramelo23606they could have easily received a letter from Ramsay and revised a new one, which was then handed to Jon. They had the motivation to kill Jon, had access to the ravens, the letter was not written in Ramsay's hand, the letter was not properly sealed and Ghost attacked them hours prior to the letter supposedly arriving. They were absolutely behind it, in some capacity.
This is so different from the show and I loved it him calling out to ghost made me sad so are they going to put him in the ice cells if they do wouldn't he turn into stone ice witch would be waking a stone dragon if they resurrect him?
Jon dies however some part of him still lingers in Ghost..... Melisandre knows that being revived means losing some humanity in oneself therefore.. out love Ghost will lose his life inorder for Jon to be revived whole.
Remember the first chapter "I think not Greyjoy, this one is mine". Ghost consciousness will merge with Jon's before being translate back into his body. Jon will face a second immortal life similar to Coldhands with Ghost as his constant companion for thousands of years.
Does anyone else wonder who is more unpleasant: Stannis or Selyse? I hate Selyse every time she opens her mouth, and only tolerate Stannis because a lot of what he does seems like ASD to me. Seriously though, they're both terrible people who deserve their shared misery, but I wonder who is worse and who influenced who with the awfulness.
Ofc Selyse is much, MUCH worse. Stannis ain't a bad man, he's complex when it comes to his personality. He's mostly a gray character, although he has more good in him than bad in my opinion. Selyse is just a miserable cruel and unpleasant fanatic.
Jon: "It might be better to leave Ghost in my chambers during the reunion at the Shieldhall. If Borrock will be there, the last thing I need now is Ghost savaging his boar!" Me: NO, JON, THE LAST THING YOU NEED IS TO BE STABBED TO DEATH!😡😡😡😡😡😡
Goddamn Jon. I love you ya beautiful bastard. I know this was all leading up to this, but it still hurts. He tried so goddamn hard. I know people are saying don't get your hopes up, ASOIAF isn't going to fall into typical fantasy tropes. But I can't help it a part of me really wants Jon to become Azor Ahai, or at least a version of it grounded in the books reality. I think George will bring in an Azor Ahai character besides Stannis the Mannis, since George has teased the importance of Dawn, the Dayne sword. I know there are theories about Jon's resurrection, whether he will be a wight of fire, or warg into Ghost, or maybe a wight like Coldhands. Personally I think it's very possible that Melisandre will use Ghost as a blood sacrifice to bring Jon back. This is all assuming he is legit dead.
I felt bad for Cersei for a moment during her last chapter, but considering she basically orchestrated the death of Jon Snow... Na, na that can't be forgiven. (another great read as always. Given me another deep night sleep you have 😊❤️📖)

@@angelfire1987 I think it was a mix of the men Cersei sent + other men of the nights watch conspired to kill Jon after he let the wildlings pass through the wall
Jons betrayal is one of the most nuanced things i think martin has written for the series. People are right to point out that those mad at jon are being stupid, but they're stupid for the same reason jon is being smart; it aligns with their roots. Jon is right to let the wildlings in, as he is right to only slightly align himself with stannis, but that cant change the fact that he does this for reasons that goes beyond his oath. He is protecting the freefolk as he should for the realms of man, but he does it out of a love he bares them. And him aligning with stannis helps the wall, but it also allows him for vengeance of his birth family. Recognizing the true threats of the others comes more easy to him Thus, the opposite is true for the traitors. They recognize the thin ice of jon and its oaths, but it's no oversight that bowen marsh, the head of the treachery, is a southern lord. While they forsake their old lives, its a harder thing for them to let go if their beliefs in blood and birthrights, things that jon doesn't care about. For the same reasons jon has an easier time saving the wall, the traitors are innable to see the real threats. The traitors are not stupid. Not really. Their hearts are as weak as jons, and duty comes easier when it isn't them who have to bear any price. This is the source of many real world incedents. True problems arise, but the interpretations of these problem lead it hard to find the middle ground they desperately need, so they act rashly when they need to think reasonably
@@daboos6353 Having Little Walder killed created conflict with the Freys and Manderlys. The freys were already suspicious of Wyman. Why would Ramsay want there to be further enmity between the 2 houses?
Wow, nothings happening like it did in the show. I thought John would have been dead for earlier and resurrected, but they made that all up. I thought he would have met Sansa or Danaerys but they made that all up too. The real book is so much more grim. Does anyone win? I like this version better. The show plot felt too wholesome, especially how Petyr, in ALL his wisdom, somehow gets figured out by Sansa and done in. Of all the plots in the book I hope Petyr wins his. He's worked hard enough for it.

Fuck Bowen Marsh. It’s so obvious that he and his lot have been conspiring for a while by this point. Don’t forget they were all going to go for Janos Slynt. They’re really so narrow minded that they can’t see the greater good. Jon really messes up though. Acts way too emotionally, and for all the ‘kill the boy’ he’s been trying to do all this book, he fails right at the end. Charging south, becoming an oath breaker, all the actions of a boy. It’s easy to forget how young he is. It’s a shame the series came out to be honest, this is such a good cliffhanger. Keen book readers would have pieces together that he’s the prince that was promised, and to have him just die like this throws it all into doubt. When he’s revived, I wonder if it will be amidst salt and smoke?
What an idiotic plan. Break your oath to take a hundred people attack winterfell. And not a single question about mance being burned already? Hope jon stays dead and only ghost continues.
2:56 unfortunately Selyse is right. Jon is being very noble, but going to Hardhome to rescue the freefolk there would not be practical at all. case in point: it happened in the TV show

(Minor spoiler upcoming for the Theon twow preview chapter)
There are also theories that either Stannis or Mance could've written the letter.
I wonder if Stannis and Theon both wrote the letter, to convince Jon to ride south.
I adore listening to you reading. It's the next best thing to having someone reading to you a bed time story
How old are you,did you recover from losing cat
Tbh Jon kinda had it coming, if there was one thing he should’ve listened to, it should’ve been to heed Melisandre’s warning of “daggers in the dark”. He knew all of his actions at that point were unpopular with a good portion of his team, he should’ve been more wary of his company.
The same thing happened to Egg, and this probably was one of the reasons that led to the Burning of Summerhall!
The thing is. Jon has been reasonable with his orders, the only thing he could feasibly do to remove the entrenched blinding wool.
Is send people out into the woods to learn for themselves 'the more people die, the more dead walk'
She even offered the names of his enemies and he didn’t want it 😢
Absolutely, just chapter before he was saying all smug that if Stannis kills him for releasing Val, they could choose a Lord Commander more of their liking. So stupid, he seems to forget what happen to the previous Lord Commander. The watch did not wait for a King to kill him...
I think Jon warged into Ghost before he died. I hope that when he's resurrected in Winds Of Winter, he has white hair, and red eyes like Ghost!
Just like how Robb was called "The Young Wolf" by his men, post-resurrection Jon will be know in the North as "The White Wolf"(or "The Wolf With Dragon's Blood" If he's reborn knowing about R+L=J and tell to everyone in the North)!
That would be sick. If he wargs into ghost I really hope that when resurrected he becomes more ruthless and certain of his actions as a wolf would.

these things that are just gonna come off offensive and key them into your plans. The nights watch have already shown they don’t have a problem killing a lord commander. Like jeez stubborn much
Plus no matter what he feels about the free folk he has to remember that the rest of them haven’t been through the stuff with them that he has. They haven’t fought with them or loved one of them. They’ve only ever opped with them. Of course they’re not gonna fw them, emotionally, historically, pragmatically. He was asking for betrayal.

SMH R.I.P Lord commander. Gotdamn it! We NEED WINDS OF WINTER. I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THIS FOR TOO LONG
tbh i’m also sort of confused why jon thinks rescuing the wildlings at hardhome will work. i’m not against jon bringing wildlings through the wall but like… the last ranging had them lose more than half their men. every ranging has been a failure. everyone is worried about losing more nights watch and weakening the watch even further, so why go again? idk it always seemed like a losing battle with no good outcome.
Tormund was brought back by Val. They are clearly able to find wildlings and bring them back to and through the wall. They need the castles along the wall manned, and the wildlings have the numbers to do that. Jon needs them and they need him.

I'd be absolutely heartbroken if this is the last Jon Snow POV.
goddamn i hope it isnt
If he'll get POVs in TWOW and probably has another name due to R+L=J (if it's canonised in the books as well and Jon discovers about this during his time inside Ghost due to visions send by BloodRaven and/or Bran), the titles of his POVs post-resurrection will possibly be with his real name, I think it's either Aemon or Jaehaerys!
@@PedroLucas-mg5je that's a good point Aegon: a name so nice, Rhagar used it twice but that will be really cool to see

Can't believe that you spend 15,20 minutes on writing this s

... I'm listening to this at the end of December and "Silent Night" was playing for the last few minutes of the chapter. It really made the scene a little more horrifying. I love it.
If Jon was this universe's Jesus, it would make sense for a reverse.
Even that cat in the background seemed agitated by jon snows coming death. Just like ghost
First I thought one of the wildling Wargs possessed one of the crows to take Jon out by his confusion, (which would explain Jon's direwolf reaction earlier too past just a sense something's off, but defense reaction to the wargs trying to take it), but after the second guy seemed legit more like was pushed to it
,
We've seen 2 people come back from the dead and they both lost aspects of their character.
This is a big clue toward Ramsay likely not being the author
I really wanna believe mance wrote the pink letter because i think it’d be so much cooler than Ramsay writing it but let’s be realistic we’ve had over a decade to speculate on it when really Ramsay prob wrote it

Rest in peace Lord commander night rememberes
Am I the only one that thinks Jon was a poor leader? Failed to sway his own brothers, often smug, arguably traitorous and easily triggered by the bastard. Good riddance, I say.
@@lordvasuki4987 you should read books
That’s epic. I’ve never been so moved by a book. Great reading you do.
"Let them die"
First lines never disappoints.
Unless...
If he's resurrected, pretty sure his behavior and acts will be a mix of those of BloodRaven and Guts after he became the Black Swordsman!
You are right, but I believe there's no escape of his duty for Jon. He will uphold his vows. No happy ending for him.
33:58 Ser Eustace Osgrey would be proud.
Does Jon have any sort of control over his warging abilities? I always felt as though he was closer to Ghost than some of the other Stark children were to their own wolves.
Jon assumed that Ghost was angry because of the boar, but was it in any way possible for him to take a peek inside him to see what was truly up?
he did somewhat use ghost to spy on the wildlings when he was with qhorin halfhand in the frostfangs
@@billyguyjoe1858 was gonna say the same exact thing, Jon assumed it was just a dream but the Halfhand knew what was going on
@@billyguyjoe1858 think that's about the time when Lord Snow woke/warged up screaming when Orell's hell bird tried to take Ghost's eyes home with him🦅
Nah, If I would have to rate the Stark kids warging powers it would be something like this:
1.-Bran: he broke the matrix and became everything, everywhere.
There are some fans who say that Bowen, Alliser and other members of the Watch were plotting with people send by Cersei to kill Jon to make an event similar to the Red Wedding that begins with Jon's death, if this is true, then I think Tormund, Gerreck Red-Beard, Borrock with his boar, Gilly's baby and others won't make it through this event!
this chapter is like watching two buses collide on a cliff as an airliner slams into the side of them
Is this chapter, the red wedding or Tyrion’s trial harder to read?
The 3 of them combined, I guess!
man i don't think anything tops the red wedding
Tyrion's trial, especially with shae's testimony that has everyone in the red keep laugh at tyrion is gut-wrenching. I don't blame him for being so violent.
Jon is still bleeding in the snow...
Ngl, I think the stuff with Gerrick Kingsblood is the most unintentionally funny thing george ever wrote
Marsh: I wouldn't believe that I'd ever fight by the side of a Wildling...
Leathers: how about by the side of a Brother?
Marsh: Seven Hells, No!
I got the reference!
So............ Mance sent the letter, right?
My theory is Wyman Manderly.
No idea actually. I feel myself really dumb, when I read all theories, always thinking "Aagh, why I never notice anything?!"
@@uncreativename2979 I agree with the 2nd one I think it's Ramsey lying or he has wrong information about stannis from ths Wyman manderley...
How do you think Jhon would be resurrected (if he is)?
Why did Jon break his oath? Clearly his sister is safe since Ramsay demands his wife in the letter which means Ramsay doesnt have his wife with him. Ramsay says he knows about Mance. Ramsay threatens to eat Jon's heart. Does he decide to break his oath to save Mance? That makes no sense. Does he decide to meet Ramsay to protect queen selyse, shireen, val and "monster"? if Ramsay is gonna attack castle back Jon can surely defend with all the men he has.
Because he doesnt want his sister shacking up with a man who makes womens skins into cloaks.
@@waltonsmith7210 But he knows Ramsay doesn't have her because he's asking for her back
he didn't really break his oath as he outright explained in the chapter, Ramsay made a direct threat to his life, answering that threat isn't breaking his vows and he has every reason to want to save Mance as Mance is an important figure for the wildlings, all of which will want him to be saved knowing he is alive.
Because he wanted to go fight Lord Ramsay to defend the Night's Watch and also avenge his dead family.
I really enjoy these reads. Well done!
Fun wordplay from Martin: 29:18
Jon Snow: “The night is dark & and the paths will be slippery with snow.”
They’ll be slippery alright, with Snow’s blood! Genius foreshadowing
Ghost and the Raven knew for sure
Jon would’ve known if he leaned into his warging
He most certainly will when he comes back ice, fire, and green
Even your cats can sense jons fore coming
when Catelyn became Stoneheart, she longer became a PoV character. I expect the same with Jon.
I think we'll get Jons story from Mels perspective like Robb and Catelyn
It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where I wouldn't hate that but I think you've got a pretty strong case.
GRRM never redoes his ideas tho. He said himself that he finds it best when the main characters stay dead. Catelyns return was only a thing to make it different from the usual killing and never coming back. I don't think GRRM will take advantage of that and start resurrecting all the good characters.

Waking dragons from stone has already happened with Dany with her stone eggs.

Recognizing the true threats of the others comes more easy to him
Thus, the opposite is true for the traitors.
Melisandre is right everyone at Hardhome will probably die. Jon should have reacted 2 the way Ghost was acting.
My theory on the Pink Letter, Mance composed it with the help of Big Walder, who has betrayed Ramsay after Ramsay killed his cousin.

@@billyguyjoe1858it’s not about rooting for him it’s about respecting his character he was too smart to die that what many felt it didn’t fit him to make that kind of mistake
Nice
I love how there’s just something off about this chapter, especially with how Ghost is behaving. It just feels like something bad is going to happen, and sure enough, something really bad happens.
Hope jon stays dead and only ghost continues.
holy shit Randyl Tarly wrote the Pink Letter!
2 pain aching death chapter after chapter 😔😔😔
Quentyn and Jon
Still alive in our hearts.
jesus this chapter felt reminiscent of of mice and men
Epic reading 🔥🔥🔥
Imagine Jons new perspective on things after his resurrection
JOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Is it just me or is Ramsey's message one of the longest ones written?
19:35 so I could come back and laugh again.
Why did Jon want a horn right at the end? Unless he was....Tormund
That is another possibility!
They sound the horn to make noise so they have everyone attention
He was panicking.
2:56 unfortunately Selyse is right. Jon is being very noble, but going to Hardhome to rescue the freefolk there would not be practical at all. case in point: it happened in the TV show
I just grabbed this video to get my comment to you. I found the Playlist with no problem. Thanks...🤣 I'm listening to you reading a womans voice and Shireens voice. Oh God your Russian accent is awesome! When Stannis sacrificed his own little girl i was stunned that was allowed on TV. Oh I was happy when Brieann ne killed him. Not sure how to spell her name. Wasn't she a amazing character? And the actress playing her was equally stunning
I think it’s totally Jon’s fault he got killed. He totally ignored the nights watch leadership and all their concerns and also abandoned his vows.
And he also took all of his most loyal men and sent them away.
And he pardoned the worst of the wildlings
And felt the need to announce it to everyone.
Justice for Jon Snow.
This is like, the world’s worst idea.
god, I adore your Tormund))))
JON!!!!!!!!!!!
How did Jon explain how Ramsey has Mance when Mance was "burned"?
Please, please tell me the Bolton's are lying! Please tell me they don't really have Stannis and his host!
Do you really wish to know? GRRM has released a few chapters of Winds of winter that is about concurrent with this🤔
@@nytdiir I'll wait until the book comes out. But dang, he sure likes to keep us on pins and needles!
The Mannis is alive. If he were dead, Ramsay Snow would still have his "bride" and his "reek"
We really getting gta 6 before wow
Sorry I have to do you like this Jon, but...
Nice
Nice.
I always thought it so out of character the way jon treated the red woman
why?
@@demon_hawkeye5269 just very rude and standoffish for no reason at all. Plus seems she did nothing but be nice and try to help Jon the minute she got to Castle black while everyone else in the "Queens" party are pretty much dicks to Jon especially Queen mustache and he's very nice and accommodating to her
@@sergoldenhandthejust1495 she sacrifices people to her red god via burning alive, Jon wanting nothing to do with her or her god as someone who worships the Old Gods (which on top of all I've said she even convinced Stannis to burn Wierwood trees which is about as big of an attack on the Old Gods as one could do) and needs to focus on leading the Night's Watch in possibly it's most unstable period next to when the Night's King had leadership makes sense to me.
