Cheers Nigel 🍻
Awesome couple of videos, I came to your channel after getting lost in a RUclips worm hole from Gavman’s page. I grew up in Lochaline and my folks still live there. I’m only getting into fishing from the shore now as don’t have access to a boat. Back then I was out every day in the summers working the creels, best prawns in the world!!!
Oh wow that must have been an amazing childhood growing up there thanks for the comment Jim 👌
@@FishHunterUK yep, middle of nowhere. (A mile before the mark Luke and Gav went to) no rules, just the outdoors and go home when you can’t find food anywhere else!!!
After u have an amazing session, the next 5 trips are odd, thoughtfull, and hard to get out of your head, trust me, been there, sleepless nights 2 come... 😊🐟🇫🇷🏴
Awesome video Rhys and Luke, the scenery ,craic and the monster Skate pt 1 something to show the grandkids Rhys, yet without Luke no way would you have landed it ..proper team effort ..well done both of you..
Looking forward to this
Part one was brilliant. Gonna roll a fatty and enjoy this later.
My uncle is moving to Scotland hopefully I can go and visit him and go fishing
Great effort guys and unlucky that time. I found with other ray species that they do respond very well to some sort of decent scent trail and if your baits don't throw a good juice down the tide (and you do need a fair run of tide) for them to sniff onto, it can be a bit of a needle in a haystack affair, especially in the vast bodies of water up there. Although they do travel, there may only be one skate in every 200 square yards so you want to give yourselves the best opportunity. Maybe a large swimfeeder! 😃
Top vids mate . So much respect for giving it a go on part 2 . Well done the pait of you. What about Ireland 🇮🇪 next. Good fishing over there ive heard .
Welcome to the west coast.Unfortunately,as you found out,the sea lochs can be very fickle.Untouched baits can be very much a feature of a nights fishing on any of them.Better luck next time, but at least you had that magnificent skate.
Been looking forward to this!
fair play LADS
Come to stavanger norway . Fish along the beaches for big turbot and seatrout lots of them . Are you can head up north . Go for the halibut . Big cod . . I live stavanger so il look after ya

well done guys i launch my boat at the place you past be good to see a few close up pics of the rigs you use from the shore you never know i might send you a couple of rigs i make when boat fishing just in case you get out of your sib sometime in the future tight lines Alain
Another awesome video mate, looking forward to the next trip, but do us a favour. Pick us up on tbe way past 😁
What knot did you use to tie the main line to the school leader( I live in Oban and I’m getting a skate setup for the shore)
If you don’t mind me asking where in Scotland is local lion pier
Lochaline is a sea loch on the sound of mull up past oban the flapper skate hotspot of Scotland opposite the island of mull you drive either up to Fort William and along or get a ferry across it's a good 10-14 hrs drive from the south west
Aye rhythm us can't get that down in England
I've been 4 times and no hooked 1
Iru bur u don't get that
2 years on and these marks are absolutely ruined
