Imagine growing up with teachers like this, the world would be a different place

This teacher is amazing! So real! So transparent! So loving and caring. Not a lot of teachers like this these days! She reminded me of my mother! My mother was a teacher for many years and she loved her kiddos! She always gave her self to the children ❤

Principals should also do this with teachers each morning cause we miss our mommies too!

Imagine if parents actually took responsibility for their kids. We wouldn't have emotional therapy instead of teaching

It takes a team of support to encourage emotional regulation and expression. Every parent have different situations from other parents. Some days are harder than others and responsibility can mean differently to everyone. Emotional therapy is teaching. Teachers aren’t there to only just teach on a board and hand out test and homework.

I wish my teachers did this for me. Most don't really seem to give two hoots about their students' mental wellbeing.

And than people wonder why kids are so obsessed with their feelings.

I do this every class with my upper graders, but I’m not on the news. 😵‍💫

Perhaps the reason you're not on the news is, you're not a young and voluptuous minority chick?

Is that why you teach? 'cause you want to be on the news? 👎 Jealousy is the ugliest of feelings.

This is nice but I know admin would ask “what standard is this attached to?” If I could do this every day I would but in reality I would be told to “move on and teach the content”. Cute video!

5-10 minutes in the morning wouldn’t hurt honestly. It would a nice transition before going straight into teaching class materials. It doesn’t have to be as much as this video.

I'd say, "I'm sorry ma'am. When my students are bouncing off the walls, swearing at me, crying at the drop of a hat because they lack emotion regulation skills and instead of teaching these skills we give them ADHD meds, I'll call YOU! You can come in and try to teach math!" Teaching these skills to kindergarteners sets them up to be able to learn the curriculum in high school. It is no less important than learning to use scissors or glue, which was on my early ed report cards.
