That motor sounds sweet! My Dad had a 49 Olds that he hopped up and drag raced in the 50"s . Hearing that exhaust reminded me of all the stories he used to tell. Love what you guys do.
I prefer the 32's and Model A's full fender'd and at least all one color but this car is "ultra-cool" in that it instantly reminds you of the hot rods of "the day" that used to "glide away" from a stop sign like they were already going a hundred miles per hour. Those Olds motors with the LaSalle trans were pretty "torqee" so it must be a blast to drive. The reaction from the two passengers tells it all !!! Always need to make those "final adjustments" to remove all the "bugs". GREA JOB !!! 👍👍👍🛠⚙🔩
you're dead-on with the stance. Schroll Coupe looks totally badass on that pull down the straightaway. Just needs "Larry" painted on the top of the driver's side door.
Been following this build since day one, and so excited to see it hit the road. You've all done an amazing job preserving the spirit of the original car - It absolutely oozes character.
you guys nailed it. When I was in grade school one of the older Boy Scouts showed up in a Coupe that looked like this (jalopy??) . I'm 72 now and that car changed me forever. What a Nice ride!
If I was one of your neighbors I would have been out yellen and applauding what a great rod, you guys have been doing great work on this from the beginning
Sounds great! To get a non-synchro trans into First gear, I always put it in High (3/4) to stop the gears from spinning then First will engage almost silently. A lower idle and "double-clutching" if you're not completely stopped help too. Just my two cents from an old guy who grew up driving even older cars. I built a 42 Chevy truck in 1975.
The Schroll Coupe is totally amazing! As an old buddy of mine used to say, "Wish I had your coupe and you had a better one" (by way of saying that you did a great job on it!!!)
That’s too cool. Matt I don’t know here you found Steve but he’s a perfect compliment to you and Mike. I’m amazed watching a “Jack of all trades” working his magic.
Just another shout out for Steve he has become a great asset toITG Maybe we see him with abuild of his own like Mike's in the future been watch you guys for years now here in Australia.
@@robertsmith6188 . No mate, those diffs are ok but won't take much punishment. Ok for this car as long as he doesn't flog it too much. The weak point of the old early Ford diffs that you guys call banjos is the keyway pin at the end of the axle, they used to shear. I can't for the life of me remember what my dad used to call them. It might be a sign of getting older or the several scotches I consumed watching this great video. Cheers from Australia.
The smiles per gallon look to be worth every penny. It was funny watching you two drive that thing. Every time you started from a dead stop the smile got bigger the higher rpm you hit. 😂 love the 5 window coupes.
You've really brought Larry's dream into a reality. That is a beautiful representation of a classic HOT ROD. Steve is a great addition to the team and we love his talent. Bravo!
Love to see you making Larry's dream A reality! It's so awesome to see another preserved hot rod. You guys do some great work and are an amazing team. Keep it up!!!
Looks and sounds fantastic. One small detail I loved - that steering wheel looks beautiful! The in-car shots when you were driving showed it off to great effect.
Looks really cool and sounds great going down the road 👍🏾have to take out on a daily basis. You know how it is the more you run them the better they run and feel once you get all the kinks out of it.
That's the coolest car yet, it has a great presence. Yes very "Bad Ass" indead! Great work Mat! You and the guys saved its soul beautifully, I think the old owner is smiling like I am where ever he is. Seeing these old machines being saved makes my day.
Man! I'm so jealous... I will drive my 32 roadster this year, but my cheeks are hurting from smiling watching you lucky men enjoying your "first drive"!
Love the look and stance. Always liked a 32 five window channeled over the frame. Worst thing is too many guys are unchanneling old hot rods. Good on you for preserving hot rod history.
This is the car I have been waiting to see drive. The Scroll coupe looks great, and can't wait to see it on the road attending car shows. Would also see it do a little drag strip test. :) Very cool build Iron Trap garage!! Mr Scroll has to be smiling down on you guys>
Hi guys, the most rewarding thing about this project is seeing the same smile on father and son while testing the car.I send you a big hug and blessings for the three of you and your families from Buenos Aires Argentina take care of yourselves thanks for the video
Another successful build. Looks awesome and runs good. Congratulations. I still don't know how you are going to keep all the great rides you are building. I guess the new building will help
Looks & runs beautiful , guys ! Sets nice too ! Glad you finally got to drive it . Saw this car when you got it . It's come a long way since then . Totally awesome to see it running & driving now . A few tweaks here & there , & she will be everything Larry envisioned when he bought it . Nice job , ITG !!!
Wow! So sweet to see and hear the Scholl Coupe on it's test run! Sounds great! It's a really cool ride. I can't wait to see it completed and driving this summer!
Congrats on the first drive! I remember my first drive in a ‘49 Ford Gasser, open headers through the neighborhood, people coming to their door to see what all the noise was 😃
I just binged this series last week and super excited 😄 for you! I'm a non-mechanical car guy (if that makes sense), and have been very motivated by your progress on so many of the projects you've done. My favorite is the forgotten hotrod from the junkyard. No way will I ever have the skills or tools to do that. Thanks for the awesome content.
Congratulations on a successful 'first run'. I've been watching along waiting to see this machine operate under its' own power. It's 'Badass!'. Definitely worth the wait! I love watching you all saving and then breathing new life into these beauties. Kudos to Steve as well. I believe he has added another layer of skill that the Garage benefits from greatly. The joy on his face really shines when he says: "That made my day!". Smiles all around on this one!
I have been following this build since the start and it looks and sounds amazing ! You rally kept the spirit of the car and your little details make it so much fun to look at. I live in Philly and I know a lot about pissing off the neighbors, if they don't like it, they can move to another county. Thank you for sharing your progress. I loved the laughs you two were having while driving it around town - like two little kids!
Nothing like the 1st blast in a car !. In my younger days in NZ we referred to going for a fast drive around the streets as a 'Blat',so we would head off "for a bit of a blat" down the road .. So,I'm looking at the beer tap gear lever knob and thinking back almost 50 years and how appropriate it is to drive a car with a lever marked "Blatz" on it. 😎😎😁😁😁😁
That was so awesome! Back in the '60's I put an Olds out of a '56 sedan backed up with a LaSalle 3 speed in my '36 5 window coupe and it would go into first pretty well with a bit of double clutch action.........
Oh!! Man!!! it looks Bad Ass, sounds great too, seams to run real good for the very first shake down trip around the block. Congrats to all of you, nice work, I love it
That motor sounds sweet! My Dad had a 49 Olds that he hopped up and drag raced in the 50"s . Hearing that exhaust reminded me of all the stories he used to tell. Love what you guys do.
I love how everyone is giggling. Awesome to see you guys have so much fun.
Cool cool cool, your smiles tell all !

Matt and Steve laughing like fools and pissing off the neighbors. You're doing the Lord's work, Matt
Will you be my neighbor? Love it
I’d love to live next door lol
The exhaust is perfect, it's a hot rod!
It sounds great. Tell the “muffler police” to take a hike. What an awesome car.
you're dead-on with the stance. Schroll Coupe looks totally badass on that pull down the straightaway. Just needs "Larry" painted on the top of the driver's side door.
On the drivers side roof
Looks like an Olds or a Cadillac engine. I'll bet its an Olds.
Love the sound of that engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job all around. A very happy hot rod, indeed. I love the line "it's actually not that loud, surprisingly" (lol).
Been following this build since day one, and so excited to see it hit the road. You've all done an amazing job preserving the spirit of the original car - It absolutely oozes character.
"Nailed it!!" Get it? Larry is smiling too, saying just what I had in mind. Good job guys.
Damn cool! I hope the Schroll family gets to see it and enjoy a ride in it.
What a milestone to get the coupe back on the road after so many years. Sounds great and the instant smiles when you hit the gas say everything.

Thank you so much!

Thats not very long ago. I was building in the late 60s.
Congrats guys great work as usual. The coup looks and sounds great . The smile on your face tells it all. 😎😎👍👍
Wow! So cool to see this hot rod hit the streets. I realized part way into the video that I too had the same big smile that you two had.
That car is awesome...Great job..May the classics live forever.

What a KOOL ride that rod is! Those smiles on you twos faces said a lot! KUDOS! OH YEAH, totally Bad Ass!
Sweeeet!!! Sounds amazing the way it is!! Great job ..real head turner

Pretty impressive for a first drive. Got to love the sound of that Olds
I dont know whose smile was bigger, Matt, yours or Steve's
Great journey for that car.
You should put some of the other cars on the road so it looks some movie out of the 50's. Great first run!
The smiles per gallon look to be worth every penny. It was funny watching you two drive that thing. Every time you started from a dead stop the smile got bigger the higher rpm you hit. 😂 love the 5 window coupes.
Haha so true about the smile to rpm ratio! Lol
Flaming fantastic. Bad ass getting down the road.
Perfect test drive! Lots of sun, lots of noise, lots of smiles! Love that shifter knob - great work 👍👍

The smiles, laughs, and busted knuckles tell it all. Nice job. A great tribute to Larry!!
Sounds great

Brilliant! I’ve been waiting for this day to arrive, the smiles and giggling from you guys driving around in it was priceless! Well done.
Terrific that you have your Dad with you. My husband watches all your videos. Thank you.

A definite yes to looking badass 😎

I'm glad you young guys are picking this stuff up and are saving these old cars. I liked the sun roof...
Awesome job. Can't wait to see it in person someday....

WOW ! The Pagoda coupe now has a competition ! Very cool even without a Flathead ! Gota get that thing to a drag strip!
That test drive... i smiled just like you too. OMG that engine sounds great
Congrats! Gotta love first drives.🙂 You are getting quite a fleet of "drivers", an incredible amount of work is paying off.

Cool way to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Deuce guys. It looks & sounds great 👍👍👏👏👏🇬🇧.
BA to the Bone! What's really kool is how stoked you guys are. Having a blast is what it's all about, eh?
The smile on your face when you were giving it the gas says it all.

Oh!! Man!!! it looks Bad Ass, sounds great too, seams to run real good for the very first shake down trip around the block. Congrats to all of you, nice work, I love it
Thanks for watching!
Look up hot rod in the dictionary and there is a picture of that car, and the soundtrack is awesome
Neither of you can wipe the smiles off your faces while making that first drive. That hot rod has come a long way, good job.
BA. Some adjustments: muffler, pedals, brakes, idle, tire rub, interior upholstery. Great 1st run.
Awesome, badass and period correct. I'd say that makes it perfect.
Great video. Bring it back to life. SUPER!
Lite em up! She sounds wicked! Definitely BadAss going down the road!
Wow..what a killer this turned out to be. That olds engine is icing on the cake......just great !
