    Sometimes I can be in a hurry to leave my last RV park heading for home and not able to dump my tanks.
    My problem is where I store my RV the water pressures for dumping is very low and you have to hold the handle down to get water. Other dump station are to far for me to drive too.
    So I bought Valterra sewer system and can't wait to use it. I going to use my sewer clean out pipe in the front yard, I will need to run a 50ft hose or 50ft of PVC pipe for short term setup.

    I can check but I'm pretty sure its sewer. I have a shut off for water inside the basement near the front foundation wall. We had our line replaced about 5 years ago and this pipe was part of the repair. I have a ground level basement window right above the basement clean out. Could be the better answer but the outside pipe is right there by the house. Is it still recommended that the black is at least 3/4 full before the dump? Always wondered how long I dare let the junk sit in there if the tank isnt full for a two day trip. We are new to this rv stuff. It could be some time before it's full. I know one can add water and let it slosh about, then dump. A home clear out makes sense. Thx

      I always dump mine no matter how full it was. Seem to work great every time. You can also turn the pressure jet back into the pipe and fill it up a little bit and then re dump to get out some remainder. Good luck.

    Your link to the fitting is the wrong size and doesn’t fit a standard hose

    • @fullmoonadventureclub

      It takes you to the right fitting it's just they have multiple sizes available on that page you want the .75 which is three quarters of an inch. That should fit most standard garden hoses.

    Ok this is coming from someone that has zero experience yet. Still learning. But I could see this being a big help with all the reasons you put out. I could even see spending some to add that sewer drain in the line out side somewhere. That could really be helpful especially if you use the RV a lot. I guess my question is more with using that smaller line. Wouldn’t you have to make sure that the tank had broken down the paper/feces before using smaller line. Chemicals etc. I guess that jet of water is suppose to breakup any clogs and help force down the line but seems that could be a problem if not broken down a lot. Thanks , Jim

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  6 лет назад +1

      You might think so but it does a great job of breaking up solids and toilet paper. I have never had a clog even with full tanks and the wrong kind of toilet paper used. You should not have a problem. Jim

      You can use the link underneath this video to go check out their price and it'll also give you more money off by using my link. The advantage to having two solar panels with it is that it'll charge with 200 watts of power and that way you don't ever have to plug it in. They will charge it off the Sun and run up to 200 watts of appliances without depleting the battery. Jim

    I have what I believe is a clean out about 2 feet in front of my house sticking up about a foot. It's about 4 inches in diameter with a cap. Now, if I use this gadget, and dump into it, about 10 feet from my driveway, perpendicularly, what causes the flow to move to the street (as the water flushed from inside the house is in motion to that end?) I guess this cleanout is a T to the main sewer line. I don't know the dynamics of the sewer plumbing so perhaps the main line is pitched?. Otherwise, I could go in the basement to a cleanout that is above the floor, but at a slight angle for snaking I guess. Any thoughts there? Thanks

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  5 лет назад

      The external hose that you hook up to force water into the jet forces water to move down the line even in a slight incline. In my experience I used my clean out in the basement and it worked really well. Definitely double check to make sure that the pipe coming up in your yard is not your water shut-off valve and is indeed connected to the Sewer. Sometimes they're really deep and it's just your water shut off which makes Incredible mess when you pump a bunch of sewage into it. Just advice from a friend that has seen this mistake made. If you're going at a sliding client it does take a long time to dump your tanks but it works. The basement is much faster. However, you have to run a hose through your house and into the basement which is not fun.

    This may not be good for people with a septic tank rather than sewer lines. It may overwhelm the leach lines (to put it too simply). Research before dumping, folks.

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  6 лет назад

      That is a good idea. I have used this on a septic tank on several occasions with no issues but research would be a good idea for long term use. Thank you for the comment and happy camping. Jim

      Brian Lee Stephens I’ve been using one of these or my 12 volt macerated pump for several years with a septic system. I did check with the person I use for pumping the septic system and he said no problem. You’re right about the leach line though if it’s in iffy condition.

    Hi Jim I was looking at the comments Bellow and was trying to figure out how to update an RV dash board I see a lot of videos on how to paint them but non on how to completely make or buy a new looking one. Do you have any ideas.and mine is made out of some sort of wood with a leather top.

      I have never had to replace an entire dash before. Have you considered a dash cover to make it look a little newer and more modern? Replacing the dash would be to specific to find something after market. Your best bet would be finding the dash in a junkyard or Ebay type situation. Perhaps a leather upholsterer could do the job of restoring the old dash. You could also have the entire dash dipped using Hydro Dipping | Water Transfer Printing. I wish I could be more help but I have yet to tackle that problem. JIm

    Hi Jim. Great vid as usual. I'm gonna get one of these but I have another prob I have to solve first and need some advice. The Black tank valve stem and handle pulled right out of the assembly with about 10gals in the black tank so I can't dump the tank. I pushed the rod back in a few times and tried to pull the valve open but the valve and stem just keep pulling out again. Any hints about how to get the valve open or to get something in there that will hold inside the valve assembly so I can pull the valve open? I was thinking of dabbing the end of the valve in jb weld and letting it dry. Although I'm not sure it would hold because it's prob damp or wet inside the assembly where the rod goes in. I was also thinking of enlarging the hole that the rod goes into and using some sort of drill bit with a screw on the end that would screw I to the plastic receptacle inside the ass’y and use some vice grips to pull it open. Any help from you or your viewers would be awesome. Thanks all

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  4 года назад

      Is the handle that came out threaded on the end or did it break the handle off inside the valve? I have heard of people unscrewing the grey water handle and using that to open the black water valve. I have also heard people say they retap or retread the valve deeper and use a replacement or extension handle to reattach the valve and dump the tanks. JB weld is good stuff but only if you can keep it off of everything you don't want it on. It might stick the handle to the walls and cause more trouble. A long screw or threaded bolt might grab enough to get the tank empty and then I would replace the valve. Let us know how it turns out. Jim

    • @richpetrelli2783
      @richpetrelli2783 4 года назад +1

      fullmoonadventureclub The handle is not threaded on the end that goes into the assembly and yet it doesn't look like it broke either. It kinda ”snaps” in place I guess.

      @@richpetrelli2783 Use a bright flashlight and try to look at the connection inside the valve assembly. Then try to figure out your best option for grabbing that valve. I wish I could be more help but I have not had to tackle that problem before. Jim

    • @richpetrelli2783

      Ok I got the valve open. Here's how I did it: I took the stem without the handle to home depot. Got a long 5” self tapping screw that was a little smaller in diameter than the rod. I marked (with tape) how long the rod is on the screw and screwed it into the hole where the rod goes, up to the tape mark. I felt it screw into the abs plastic piece that holds the rod normally. My first couple of attempts to open the valve by pulling on the screw with vice grips didn't work because I either screwed the self tapping screw in too far or not enough. If you screw it in too far it grabs a small plastic shroud on the valve that's attached to the body of the valve and it wouldn't budge. But I unscrewed it a few turns each time I tried pulling until the valve opened. I had one of those valterra add-on waste valves that goes where the outside waste cap goes to prevent any fluid from coming out when the valve opened. If I didn't have that all the waste water would have collected behind the cap and that would have made a mess at the dump station. Finally got it dumped. Hooray! This is a great rip for those that have this sort of prob Older rvs had the snap in rod instead of the threaded one. My RV is an 04 Sunseeker.
