Also, most code violations only applied to permanent structures. If your add-on is 'temporary', it may not be a violation. It is really up to the local codes if dumping into your cleanout is legal. In many it is, in some it is not. And you're right. Even if it is a violation, it isn't criminal.

In the area where I live, many of the property owners keep their RVs at their homes. This is allowed as long as it is done in a neat orderly manner Most of these RVs sit on concrete pads that are covered (like a carport) and have full hookups (electric, water and sewer) so they can be used for overnight visitors. Among our neighbors are a city mayor, two city council members, an attorney, a surveyor, my daughter is a real estate agent and I am a homebuilder. We are ALL aware of building codes and rules and regulations set in place by our Property Owners Association, and their is nothing in the documents of either addressing the storage or use of RVs. After a short discussion of your concern, we can't see a problem, other than the leak. It all depends on where you live and how stringent the codes, rules and regulations are. I wouldn't worry too much about the nosy neighborhood nazis who try to make your business, their business.

@@Buckwsrmy gmas house has a septic that’s on the ground. I would need one of those wrenches to open it and just put my sewage plug into it. But wouldn’t that close the connection so the sewage pouring in will be closed off? Isn’t there a type of cap meant for the rv sewage hookup? Like a cap on top of the lid?

Make sure they use enzyme treatment in their black tank and not a formaldehyde based treatment. The formaldehyde will wreak havoc on your septic and leech field.

I appreciate your work on this project, both times. But I wonder why you didn't expose the Pipe with concrete around it at the start of the original video and see how deep it was. And then replace the elbow with a T and then dig a trench straight to the RV site saving pipe lengths and put a permanent RV Dump Connection there. All would be underground if you had enough fall and you would have still had the original Dump in your fenced yard at the side of your house.

the legal standpoint depends on what state or county your in. its perfectly legal in Florida as long as u have it set back a certain amount of feet to your zoning laws and it must be connected to your septic and have electricity. as long as u meet all these stipulations its perfectly legal in the state of Florida. now any other place I haven't checked because I live in Florida and I plan on doing this for my son so he can save his money and buy his own property one day and start a family.

You shouldn’t have to explain anything that you decide to do on your property
Friends, neighbors, Renters, anyone who decides to get into your business needs to be permanently rejected
Some people are just not fit to be in some people circles
I can’t rent to a person who remains in my business
If they don’t know how to rent and have a life, they’ll be finding another place to live. It’s just simple simple
Friends relatives again. They need to have a life in your life isn’t in my business, but if it is then they can go.
I wouldn’t go down to the court office because you gave them a reason if you did, you gave them a reason to do an inspection
To charge you some random shit
Until someone goes down there and report you and someone else comes to try and do an inspection. There is nothing you need to be saying to anyone in the court building.
It’s not admitting guilt it’s rejecting BS because that’s all you’re gonna run into when you go down there

Give you a better answer to is it legal or is it not? That all depends on your area and the code to your area but most of the time if you have it hooked up to your septic tank as long as it does not get put in the wrong side of the septic tank and you have a vent still open for your septic tank you’ll be fine just check in your local areas code, but city sewage I would not recommend it

Thank you for sharing. I live in Texas and at one point the small town I live in now was coded no restrictions and the Lot next to me which I own as well had an Rv, there is power running to it from my house but no sewer from what I am aware of. So the other day I had an idea like yours, either renting it out full time or one/two nights since we live close to the lake. I called the city and they basically told me NO. They said I can hook it up to the electricity to keep my appliances running but I couldn't rent it out for any reason. I said my mom comes from out town I would like a place for her to stay a few nights and she said no. I was disappointed. We pay taxes and utilities, we should be able to do what we want as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Either way I thought about still doing it, but now that I mentioned it to them I am bit nervous about it. I don't have an RV but I was planning to get one and do what you are doing. I can't find any clean outs either. Might be buried somewhere. Any advice on any of this?
