“There’s nothing to put the deer here…over 50 yards from here.” What an excellent point put in such a simple way. Constantly asking that question could change your whole season for the good. Great video!
That super thick area reminds me of a spot I’ve found, small ridge runs through a middle of a wood lot, and it’s very thick, with only one primary trail, and I’ve found a couple beds where the edge of thick meets the ridge, little caves almost, with rubs right in the beds. The problem is getting to the spot without bumping deer and the right wind. It’s in ag country, so there’s potential to set up on the field edge where there’s an exit trail. But don’t know it that would be the most successful point of attack. Love this content, has me thinking, where’s the next spot?!
GM Dan. I believe what you found on the oak stand is a paracord preset. This is a technique used by the saddle climbers to get their (expensive) climbing rope up and over the crotch branch, to ascend/descend the tree via rope climbing. (SRT or DRT) A preset eliminates having to use a throwball to get a line over the crotch while you are actually coming in to hunt. I may be wrong with those loops though. That part is strange... 😮
There is a BC n a few big ones.. by me.. here in PA.. The big one.. ive been tracking the last 3/4 years.. in a small area.. Your lucky to find a big rub anywhere.. besides a few.. from smaller bucks.. But Huge high historical rubs everywhere.. 😂.. Doesn't make sense.. 👍💯😂🦌
The rubs don't have to be where the deer is bedding or in a specific area you intend to hunt. But... All bucks rub trees, so there should be some around somewhere in the area.
@Brian-dh9lp like dan replied all the rubs and scrapes started outside of the bedding area, which I did not mention at first. But originally I put them there because it was such a great looking spot.I was really just curious.
It would be a nightmare trying to get a deer out of location. That's why a framed backpack really shines unless you have a network of people to help you like Dan has.
I used to go back that far, before they screwed us with the quad rules. I only used the quad to help bring it out. Don't know about you, but the deer back that far, acted completely different. Because they weren't seeing as many hunters, if any. I felt, who knows for sure. Just my observation. Different state of mind for hunter/animal! Haha. Miss it.
Give me some of your thoughts on Bachler group bedding? I can see 4-8 bucks come out in ag. to eat. How do they all hookup to get to the ag? (August-November) some nice shooters with smaller8,6,4 pts. They get to the ag. late 11pm and later.
@@thehuntingbeast 2 years ago, I had 4 nice shooters 125ish plus about 5 smaller ones hanging together till day before rifle season (Nov.5) I thought they would be betting the crap out of each other, but no. Minnesota THE NO FUN ALLOWED STATE
I couldn't sleep. So I watched this video of yours, I didn't complete. Then hit me, like a ton of bricks. You're the dominant buck. Wow. Am I the first. To see that. I doubt. So obvious now. Reckon we all need a subordinate. Nothing wrong with it. But I never noticed it before. I reckon I wasn't studying hard enough. Not meaning to be an ass. Just realization. Definitely not meaning it to be a bad thing. Hope it isn't taking like that. Thanks again, for the lesson.
@thehuntingbeast I've watched almost every video ya got. Some multiple. Will watch them over and over. Plan on 3 publics instead of 1. I normally hunt 5 spots. You said atleast 30. So my goal is no less then 200 boot miles. Wisconsin is alittle bit of a drive for me lol.
@thehuntingbeast let's say i got 50 spots. I've payed attention on how you judge the rubs for late season or early season. How do you know when to start. Do I just guess and hope he's there and look at present sign walking in. Also if you go and don't see much sign. How early would you go back into that spot to see if they've arrived for there 2week do breeding spot
@thehuntingbeast your hill bedding DVD I've watched 3 times. Wife's keeps asking. Why do you continue to watch them over and over. Honestly I pick up things you said I didn't hear the first time or second or 3rd lol. Gonna get me a stand and 5 sticks and a hooker. Neat little thing
@@edwards4445You have to be the detective... When is he there? Why is he there? Then you go in at the most likely times. Sometimes your wrong, sometimes your right. Some of my biggest bucks came from spots with very little sign... Trust your scouting
If you are implying that guys like Dan and all the great information they give us access to are the reason, you just don’t get it. It’s called public land for a reason.
When I see a comment or hear you guys talk about crowded parking lots on public land. It's so foreign to me. I realize how blessed I am, to live up north, especially nowadays. But I can't for life of me, remember seeing anything remotely like that up here. I did, when I was down state. I feel lucky, yes, made the right choice, many years ago! Lol.😊

I love the excitement! Everyone needs to find a passion like this. Get outa bed and get it done!

Thanks I’m on my way out today and you just taught me a lot of new things to look for. Appreciate you guys from Michigan.

The number of great hunters Dan has created cannot be counted! They are a legion of men!
I came across an area with little too no rubs, but my cams showed at least two mature bucks in that area all year long.
Curious, with little to no sign, how did you decide to put your cams in that spot?

Dan, this video made my whole friggin year 😂
I would love to get you to Tennessee and do a scout with yall. I got a lot of public land to scout

My hangon stand is my frame pack.
That's cool. I have a mystery ranch pop up 28
@@kidneystones3406 I've got that pack too. Very solid
Wisconsin has weird laws when it comes to quartering a deer
As my buddy says, "Never complain about getting it out, that's the easy part, it's a good problem to have."
That big tree could be a observation stand
Hmmm... Actually, it could. Good point.
“Nice” 😂
Sweet video fellas, lots of work, but lots of great stuff.
Love the shirt i have to get me one of those!!😅😂
I sent that to Dan, if you really want one I have them on my website 😂
Hi pinball love it great for off grid hunting camp in New York on victory lane😅
I put cameras in okay trails with small rubs and only one scrape and got big bucks on it. Can't find or backtrack them.
So are you quartering your deer? I mean to get them out? Ain't no way you're dragging it!

Glad to see beefy Dan is back. you got too skinny for a while, I was worried.
If someone wanted to be on the beast team. Not your team but hunt like a beast. Your patented hunting style. Where would they start?
Watch the videos on youtube, watch the DVDs, maybe attend a workshop

I wonder what is causing crowded parking lots on public land🤔
Probably automobiles?
It sure is awesome to see more people enjoying hunting and the outdoors.
