Regardless of what happens to the Seahawks, based on the result of SNF, you gotta admit none of us expected them to even be in the playoff hunt to begin with. That and Geno Smith reviving his career. Him and the Seahawks proved us wrong this season!

Rebuild year for the Hawks btw. No matter what happens with the DET/GB game, I've been thoroughly entertained in what was supposed to be a 4 wins or less year. Everyone should be too. Regardless if we get playoffs or not that is an amazing accomplishment. Also glad Geno got a winning season.

Geno deserve to play for a long time. I remember he covered when russel got his broken finger, Geno made an impressive QB sneak for 15 yards. Great height and vision to see his teammates. Came along way to stay together
Agree he deserve new contract
He’s in his 30s so it’s unlikely he’ll play for THAT long. But he could be a threat in the NFL for 5ish years before his athleticism declines. If he gets his head on better and makes better decisions he could play beyond 35 with his size and pocket passer ability. But he can’t throw at defenders like he did today. He simply guessed or misread the field too often and cost the team offensive drives.
He was always backup for years this season was his first season as a starter he did well he will learn I would give him another chance

This was a great season for the Seahawks. Got the outside help needed for playoffs and absolutely fleeced the Broncos in what was expected to be a painful rebuilding year for them.

He's done well, I agree on that, but if it wasn't for all of the dropped passes by opposing defenders, INT's called back on penalties, Geno would have close to 20 INT's on the year. I've seen at least 10 sure fire INT's dropped by opposing defenders.

@@nicholasbourcier well since I only saw the highlight reel I didn't see any of those, but I promise you that Seattle has been on the listing side of plenty of bad calls and non calls through the years. Officiating should be better across the league and with replay tech and tons of camera angles there's realistically no excuse for non calls anymore.

Nobody gonna talk about how the refs made 4 HUGE penalty decisions that affected final outcome that were all in the Seahawks favor?
Edit: For anybody who might wonder which 4, it was the roughing the punter that gave the Seahawks a first down, an unnecessary roughness that put the Seahawks definitively in field goal range (11:53, they missed the field goal but it’s still a blown call), a missed intentional grounding against the Seahawks (the ball didn’t seem to get to the line of scrimmage), and a taunting penalty on the interception (pointed towards the Rams sideline, which isn’t allowed according to the rule book)

I've been a fan of this team since I was 12 years old as an inaugural fan. I've seen a lot of Hawks teams come and go in 46 years, and I'll tell you plain: this team right now is NOT ready for prime time. They're still working the kinks out. Next year ought to be a fun ride, though. I didn't have a lot of hope for this year, so my beloved Superchickens exceeded every single reasonable expectation I had in September.
I'm like the rest of you guys. I honest-to-God did not think Geno Smith would turn out to be the dude he is. Personally, I think the only three people who knew he had this in him were Geno, his momma, and Pete Carroll. But that brother came storming in like he owned the place. AND with a quote that'll go down in Seahawks history. So yeah, I'm kinda stoked for next year.

This one is definitely up there. Bengals vs Steelers week 1, Vikings games ALL year have been insane (particularly against the the Colts, a few others have been WILD too but this one is no doubt up there. Especially when taking into account all that is still on the line. I'd be GUTTED if I was a Lions fan though.

Say what you want. Ramsey could’ve moved tf outta the way when Geno was already at. Ramsey didn’t need to lower his shoulder and head to set up Geno for a collision when ALREADY out of bounds. That’s why it was unnecessary. It seems like people just aren’t paying attention.
McVey's job should not be in jeopardy. He won the SB last year and had a ton of injuries this year. He is a good coach.
