Well I think a lot of girl names are too common, or don’t sound like a name I would name my child, or just won’t suit them amongst other reason. Honestly I’m on the same page as Caitlin. We’ve all got our preferences don’t we? I don’t like a lot of female names either.

I get what Caitlin means about liking names but not liking them for your own kid. I know when I was younger I made this enormous list for future baby names but the older I get and when I look back at said list, I think I just wrote down every name I ever liked. I feel like my kid's name would have to sound good with the last name as well because it's sad to force someone to live their whole life with a last name and first name combo that's strange

Fr…I can’t even pronounce my first and last name together. My first name is Italian and my last name German, but like a very rare German name which no one can pronounce correctly and I hate the sound of my last name. I like my first name a lot, but I strongly dislike my last name. The thing is…nothing sounds good with it.

I feel like names like 'Ocean', 'River', 'Isla' are almost more 'common' than some names you've heard a lot. It's unlikely a lot of the names you've heard of that are popular now are not going to be popular in your child's generation, whereas 'Ocean' and 'River' (maybe more River) are going to go up in popularity. Isla is also extremely popular right now. Summer and Autumn were already a little bit more popular 10 years ago so you'd probably hear those less. Also I like the name Francesca but it doesn't go super well with Oakley. The best name on your list IMO is Willow, it makes a cute sibset. I also just picture a daughter looking like both of you being called Willow. I really think your instincts were right with Willow because it goes sooo much better than the other names and when you actually sound it out it makes a pretty sound, whereas 'Ocean' without context for the meaning doesn't sound as nice to me. Or ignore me, I'm just a random stranger on the internet :'D
As someone named Isla I have definitely seen the popularity get higher every year. I used to meet like 1 Isla a year and now it’s usually over 10

what’s so funny to me is that my parents tried their best to make me and my 4 brothers have names that don’t go together (so they don’t sound the same), and some people are focused on them sounding good together. lol
My name is Isla as well and my parents tried to name me something uncommon but now there are so many Islas! Literally 2 of my closest friends are also called Isla and I know so many more 😂

If your actual name is Ally (which sounds similar to Ellie), it’s unique but it’s spelt differently. I like it. Anyway, whatever name they pick, I’m sure it’ll suit their wee girl in the end. I feel like since you named your son Oakley(like oak tree) it only makes sense to name you next baby Willow. but all of the names chosen are pretty common, I love the name Francesca, you can even get into spelling it different ways to make it more unique, so im team Leah 💕

As soon as they got to Francesca I just start bursting out laughing. Not my personal favorite, so I wouldn't use it. But, I quite liked most of the names that they picked out, and it makes me even more hopeful that they have a baby girl!

Aviary is a place for birds. Avery is a girls’ name, so I think that is the spelling you were going for. Willow sounds nice with Oakley.

I also find it easier because I was so worried about how I would cope with my duaghter no long being the only child.. she rather than looking at it as ‘he’s the new baby and my first baby has to grow up’ it was more My daughter will always be my princess and my Son will be my Prince.. 💕💙

I couldn’t believe that they named all three of our female babies in my family in the first 1.5 minutes! Margot (my daughter was literally the first one 😂) followed by Willow (my granddaughter) and Luna (niece)😂

My sister is a willow. My mum struggled with names and wanted a double barrel first name that went with Jade. Eventually my parents agreed with Willow Jade. With her middle names as Rosemarie. My parent said that the name willow Jade just said precious to them.

Ocean was the top name until I found out I was having a girl then I found it too much of a boys name so I went with a different name for my daughter but it’s Oakley and Ocean sound so good!! Xx

So glad you chose ‘Ocean’ ‘Willow’ and ‘Isla’ because Isla is my name but I’ve never really liked it but now I’ve heard it a few times and I know other people like it, I think it’s alright now!! If you want an uncommon name, you should google the top names in your region. I know so many parents who named their kid a name that they thought was unique, only to find that the kid was one of three with the same name at school. Keep in mind that the most popular names now are not the names that were most popular when we were growing up, so it's a good idea to look at current trends.
@@user-cc5xe7mq2m yeah I know a few little Oakleys. Ironically, if you want a really uncommon name, your best bet is naming your kid a 90s name. You don't see very many young Jennifers or Ashleys lol

I have a school aged child and there’s a few Willow’s at his school. The name has definitely boomed in the last 5 years. Wait until all those kids are in school, you’ll notice how popular it’s become.
