    • @johnfranklin5277

      No, not at all. I read your description however and nowhere does it say that you are a flipper, or if you prefer, your in the business of buying classic automobiles, and fixing them up for resale. After watching about 3 of your videos I was under the impression you were passionate about old vintage cars and that you were buying them for yourself. But then I realized you sell them on. It's just easier if you would make it clear in your description what your business is all about. I certainly didn't mean to make you angry. I'm a 65 year old fellow who has been a car nut since birth, done my fair share of wrenching on cars. Iam the owner of my parents 1958 cadillac they bought in 1960 from a Doctor friend of theirs. I was just 1 then. Lol. And a beautiful 1968 Mustang I bought in 1977, in my senior year of high school. Both in great shape, on the road. I'm enjoying your videos, the beautiful scenery and good music! Carry on!

      @@johnfranklin5277 I own many cars and collect them. I’m not in the business of buying and selling cars. I am passionate about vintage cars. I buy them for myself. But in order to get more cars you have to let others go. Unless you’re filthy rich it’s not sustainable to keep buying and buying and never selling. I’ve had cars that I’ve owned for a long time. I still have the first car I ever bought. The majority of cars that I buy… I buy cause I want them and I enjoy them. I bring cars back from the dead. I take them on long trips. But there’s always more cars to find and experience. Some cars I’d never sell others can be bought just so I can get another to enjoy.
      Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy the future videos.

    Hi Austin. I love your videos and I think I've watched them all. Hey, great save on this Chrysler! It has tons of excellent hard to find parts. A radio delete on a Chrysler? Wow, unique! The stainless trim is in fantastic shape. Get it running; sure, why not. A safe, reliable driver? Come on, now, buddy, The front seat is going to drop right into the ground when you drive it.😅P.S. Your son/daughter was SO well behaved during this adventure and man, your wife sure knows her way around an electric winch!. Until next time. My first car for my college commute was a 1965 Belvedere II convertible and I learned to drive on Mom's 1964 Dodge 4 door 2-seat base (330?) Mopar turquoise station wagon with the push button automatic, no power steering/brakes (it had a radio and heater and full wheel covers). I STILL can parallel park any vehicle 60 years later. 🤣

    Was probably hard to let the 62 Plymouth go. Lots of memories on that LONG haul across the country. I have sold all of the cars that I should have kept. Lol. I was always after another project. That mint green had to be a cool color when it was new. I grew up in southern Oklahoma and there was a good Chrysler and Dodge dealer there so I saw a lot of these cars as a kid.

    The little squiggles in the grime on the vehicle body are likely snail or slug tracks from them munching on bio layer of grime. A guess anyhow, I've plucked a few vehicles out of forests, and found snails hanging around. Some were on the side of a 69 Merc Marquis 4-door hardtop brougham I found. It was an awesome cruiser once I cleaned it up, gave it rebuilt heads on the 429, 4 barrel intake, and a new Holley out of the box. It ran great. Got 12mpg on it's best day. I loved that boat.

I remember following a 61 Newport 4door sedan, bombing down the hiway at about 80...thought that was the coolest thing ever.

    For the first 12 years of my life - the 'family car' was a white with gray interior 1962 Chrysler Windsor sedan. [The Canadian version of the 'Newport'] I was brought home from the hospital in that car and cried when my dad traded it in on a gold 1968 Chrysler Newport sedan. I was never a big fan of that car. When I was about 6 - while my family was visiting - I sat in the Windsor and pretended to drive by pushing the transmission buttons. Somehow they got jammed [not sure how that happened! lol] and dad had to drive all the way home in 1st gear!

    Whoever ordered this Chrysler was very frugal. No radio, no clock, no left side veiw mirror. The mirror location on this car is in the wrong spot. I'm guessing that power steering and brakes were optional on the 62 Newport. I'm not sure if this one is so equipped. The only options I see are automatic transmission and day/night mirror. Lots of weight reduction on this one as well. It's still worth saving for sure.

      My great uncle was a great guy but super frugal despite being very wealthy.Born in 1894, in 1963 He ordered a new chevy Impala. He was 69 then and it was his only new car. Here is how he ordered it. V8, automatic transmission. Manual steering, manual brakes. Radio delete. Manual windows, the car said IMPALA and had 3 tail lights on each side, but that was the extent of its luxuries! He drove till he was 97 that was 1991, put it away, and passed at 100 and 4 months.

  • @novaseline4u
    @novaseline4u 2 месяца назад

    I would at least get it running and go through the brakes. Drive it around the yard a bit and see how it is. Be careful of those tail light castings. Yours are still in good shape but they can easily be broken. If you proceed to metal work, maybe you can use the 880 as a template to fabricate the floors with the correct embossments and all that.
    My parents bought a 62 Newport 4 door HT brand new. White with blue interior. It was equipped pretty much like this one, except ours also had a radio and clock. No power brakes. Power steering though. It's interesting how certain color interiors had a black dash pad no matter what. Ours had a matching blue pad. The red interiors had black pads. Looks like this one, with a grey interior, has a black pad too. I wonder why they did that.

      Yeah, don’t worry. It’s not going to be driven in the winter. We’ve been pretty busy with the car with some under hood cleanup (degreasing) and light maintenance while putting TTI tailpipes and 2-1/2 inch dual exhausts with long case dynomax turbo mufflers and resonators on it. Also swapped to some early seventies C body exhaust manifolds with some RemFlex gaskets. Its an awesome cruiser and we almost always have a private car show when we take it out.
