My wife and i met when we were 21. When she was 28, she got diagnosed with a rare disease called diabetic gastroperiss. She became so ill, she used to say that she had already died, she was just being forced to wake up every day in and live in a broken body. I used to bargain with god to let her wake up in a different body, as a different person, just so she could have a chance to live, even if it meant she wouldnt know who i was. She went to sleep for the last time on august 15th at the age of 29. I like to think that maybe she just woke up as someone else and is out there living with no pain. Now im the one who died. Im just walking around every day in a floating chalk outline. This comment isn't about me though, its just to point out that there are a lot of people living amongst us every day who are walking around, not alive for whatever reason. Be gentle, be compassionate.

I know it’s neither here nor there but from what I’ve seen Joe’s passing was well before Ren and Chinchilla met so she wouldn’t have known him.

I suffer from Chronic illness as well, mine is actually terminal.. but I feel this so hard! I'm a shell of the person I used to be, and to know I will never get it back... it's hard, but I am just trying to get by day to day... I subbed to you, I have been watching every one of the reactions to Ren because his music is Once In A Lifetime, Generation, Decade, Century... he is the Freddie Mercury of our era, the Beethoven, Bach, just in a league all of his own. Everything is sooo carefully thought out. This video was done in 11 take, no camera cuts, the audio was recorded live. You need to watch their song How To Be Me!

Writing this in the hope that maybe, possibly, it can help someone else.
I went through years of being on different anti-depressant medications. They all had benefits and also serious side effects.
A couple of years ago, my doctor told me about another kind of treatment called Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
What happend was, they used magnetic pulses on very specific locations on my scalp, which sent these pulses to very specific areas of my brain.
What I understand of it is that these pulses change they frequency that the neurons fire. On one side of my head the pulses were a slow beat (my memory of it is faded now, but it was maybe 60bpm?), and on the other side of my head the pulses would come rapid fire, with a break in between each cluster.
It worked great!!!!! At least for me it worked great. I can't say that it would work for all people but maybe it's worth looking into for someone who is trying to find a way out of the pills, and the horrible effects (affects? I can never tell which word to use).
Turns out that it was an electrical problem with my brain and not so much a chemical one.
Ok, now I feel stupid writing and sharing this but will do it anyways. Maybe it will help someone.

Just a little back story on Ren, he was bit by a tic and got Lyme disease and was misdiagnosed for years, he was told it was all in his head and he was going crazy.. After all the meds and side effects from them when he was finally diagnosed correctly the damage was done.. Now he fights everyday to try and over come this sickness.. He’s currently in Canada going to treatments daily.. Hi Ren and Sic Boi touch more on this.. So glad y’all popped up on my feed

Wonderful, thanks so much! I love these two together. The other official live performance they have is "How to be me (live)" which is even sadder than this one (it's about Ren's friend Joe who took his own life). It's astonishingly good. They've also done some wonderful street busking sessions in Brighton. I'd recommend their Sexual Healing cover. Cheers and all the best!
Its not that difficult to play guitar while singing for me but everyone is different. Its one of those things that either come naturally or dont snd you have to work at it. Try learning the light and the glass by Coheed and Cambria on guitar and sing with it. I think that's a good training .
i was diagnosed with Lupus at 21, thought nothing of it because i felt no different, just sicker more than usual until i turned 28 and now my whole world has been flipped upside down. ive never been good with expressing emotions and identifying emotions, but Ren and Chinchillas music has helped me alot.

I really appreciate you both not saying a blanket no to medication because sometimes it is appropriate. There are so many conditions out there with no treatment at all, I have a neurological condition where there's nothing and now basically bed bound. But when it comes to mental health if it helps take it but always always with therapy at the same time. Sometimes the medication does not agree with you which has happened to me too so just gotta find what works. Mental health does have a chemical imbalance aspect so if something can tackle that aspect of it then lighten your load. Medication for mental health is not a cure all though. Like I said you can't neglect therapy
I noticed a ridiculous comment here saying that what Suzi says about antidepressants, etc., is a false narrative that hurts the mental health community. I want to respond where others can see this. What she said is not false in my multiple experiences over decades, not in the least! In fact, the ridiculous comment that was made by a viewer runs so opposite to what I have experienced that it literally pissed me off. My negative side effects from antidepressants were always communicated. I was told I just needed to get used to them, and neither they nor I ever improved. It was always how Suzi described. I finally found a doctor last year that did proper testing, testing to find out that various hormones were way off. I now take natural substances that have helped me tremendously, and they aren’t the weird, exotic chemicals that antidepressants are. I even had a doctor tell me that they don’t know why antidepressants “work” for some people, and his exact words were that antidepressants are “mystical” and “Just take them.” Gotta love sCIeNTiSM and doctors getting incentives for pushing certain things.
Now, with my new doctor, instead of waking up in extreme emotional distress every single day, it happens maybe once every two or three weeks. Here’s the truly interesting part - I had to pay out of pocket because my new doctor doesn’t take insurance, because insurance won’t cover the testing or anything else that actually helped me! The overall medical system just wants you to be part of the herd, the experiment, and take the meds that “Big P” gets mind-blowingly wealthy from. I told my old doctor what the new doctor discovered, and he looked incredibly embarrassed, and spoke to me very sheepishly. He could have easily found the same thing, but didn’t even go that route because he knew insurance wouldn’t cover it, so he doesn’t even suggest it. Just write a prescription for the “mystical” crap, and turn people into unfeeling zombies who get “brain zaps” if they run out of the mystical crap. Brain zaps that might never go away. You told the truth, Suzi, don’t ever stop.
