    This video really is a testament to how strong those San Quentin frames are. Can't imagine many hardtails would have survived the cases on those jumps; much less stayed intact when you kept on jumping. Kudos.

    I'm planning on moving to a city with a major bike park next summer and have a SQ3. I actually searched whether it'd be okay to ride at a bike park and ended up on this video 😂
    3 broken welds? Straight question here. Are your replacement forks a bit too long? I bought longer forks (160mm) then went back down to 130mm as the geometry just felt so wrong. Maybe something inbetween?

    • @bennybradford
      @bennybradford  2 года назад +4

      Yes 160 is too long. I wish I was at like 140. The seat stay crack probably had nothing to do with the fork. But the head tube probably did. However I don’t think the frame would have held up even with a 130 fork though

      Hope you get it sorted, Benny. I was still going to buy one, but unfortunately i can not find one anywhere on line in the UK. Im gutted 😢 Only option i can see to getting a decent bike in the UK is to get a Nukeproof Scout. Seems impossible to find anything else at the moment. What are your thoughts on the Nukeproof Scout V3? They lowered the bottom bracket a couple of mm. That may be good for the handling, but not so good for peddle strikes over rocks. Awesome riding by the way. Great video.

    This is why I don’t ride alloy hardtails anymore, I have cracked 3, it’s nothing to do with hard impacts it’s the flex that causes micro cracks, switched to a CrMo steel ragley frame and the thing is bomb proof, steel frames can flex without cracking and fatigue

      Im 5'8" so for me its a medium. Your size is 'Extra Large.' according to Marin's size chart. 'Large' size is 5'8" - 5'11" So that's too small for you. So yeah, you need 'extra large' size, which is 5'11" - 6'2"
      When ever you are wanting to know the size of a mountain bike go to the website for the particular bike brand you are looking at - they all have size charts for their bikes, plus the technical charts and the geometry charts.
      Go take a look at Marin's website.

      @@Tony-1971 no, no… that’s why I’m asking, size charts never worked for me… I hate a bike that is to big for me… I had a Scott Genius that was a Large… than I bought a Specialized Demo 29 in a S3 size (which is practically a Medium), and it worked perfect for me, now I ride a dirt jumper… so you can see that size charts don’t really work for me… but according to your hight and the fact that you ride a Medium… I’ll just go size up and buy a Large… I’ve never ridden a Extra large that I would like… I doubt I’ll like this one… but thanks so much anyway :)
