white Players choice are also really different from the other colored players choice sleeves. The backs are completely different (whites are not glossy on the back)
yeah the white player choice is thinner in the back or something. Like it uses less paint so its a smoother shuffle overall. As oppose to the ones with colors outside of black where the back feels glossier but thicker.
Have you tried Dragon Shield? I currently use the Hyper Mat's but I highly recommend them. They do not the matte backing/grip like Ultra Pro and the Hyper Mat. They have very smooth backing like Player's Choice but, instead of the "flat" feel, they are glossy but they don't feel like they would sticky easily. They also feel extremely sturdy. You feel like the card is very well protected.
Nice of you to review dem sleeves. I'm a sleeve aficionado myself and have gone through certain ones. I'm a huge fan of Players Choice but their most consistent color probably is white or black. Other colors I haven't had luck with and they are usually good for 1 full event. After that, they look really worn out and won't shuffle as well as they did when you opened them up. A better alternative to these IMO are Dragon Shield minis but you only get 50 Dragon Shields in a pack as oppose to 60 from Players Choice. I definitely like the HyperMat Minis. I used them for CFV but I noticed the thickness of CFV cards weren't a good fit for the sleeve. WOrks perfectly for Yugioh cards. My honorable mention goes to DekProts. They are like bargain Ultra pros but around where I frequent I can get em cheap and they shuffle well and last long, if not longer than Ultra pros at times. And no stamp so its buttery smooth on both sides.
Roronoa Zoro from my experience, the Players Choice whites don't but the front does get messed up. I only have used Dragon Shield Turquoise and I don't think the back doesn't gets scratches as much. The scratches aren't as evident though.
Roronoa Zoro I personally avoid the other players choice colors because as I wrote in anotehr comment, players choice white is the base so the back of the sleeve feels lighter, glossy but also smoother. The other colored ones outside of black I have tried are painted on (obviously) but over a period of time, its not as smooth (probably because of the paint to give color to the sleeve) and for some reason it clumps easier. Funny thing since I've tried Dragon SHields other than white and after long usage, it still shuffles pretty well.
I find the Player's Choice, or any glossy sleeve for that matter, too slippery. Plus the Player's Choice are more expensive, so I don't think it's worth it. That's why I use all Ultra Pro Matte. I've convinced all my friends to do the same as well. Solid choice.
Your ratings for Ultra Pros and Players Choice are pretty accurate, but only for a specific group of people. Players who have sweaty hands during games, wear sleeves out very fast or shuffle their hands constantly during games have reported that Players Choice get very sticky and grimy within only two days or less and it severely affects shuffle quality. Ultra Pros (the glossy type), though they can get dirty equally as fast, retain a general shuffle quality for a longer period of time and stick around longer as a result. I've had this experience with Players Choice every time I use them, so I usually prefer Ultra Pros. As for the Ultra Pro Matte's... I 100% agree with your opinion: one time use only, and only for a major event. Never used KMC brand sleeves before, but from what I hear they're almost identical to Players Choice so I'd feel the same about them. Any sleeve with a picture on the back including your World Championship ones should only be used as Extra deck sleeves just like you said.
I prefer Matte Ultrapros for playability. The matte finish seems to always make them shuffle and handle really nicely but don't like how it dull the cards; kinda obscures the card a bit and prevents the shine. So in big tournaments I'll use the matte Ultrapros but when playing casually I'll play with gloss sleaves (usually the regular Ultrapro or sometimes Player's Choice if I can get a hold of them) just so I can enjoy my holos - I love my secrets rares :p As far as the watermark goes, it doesn't bother me at all.
One of the sleeves you missed is Dragon Shield. Their basically the the non-ridged version of KMC, but with more colors. They also have a slight curl initially, but it goes away with play and in no way affects the condition of the card inside . KMC and Dragon Shield are a little pricier than most sleeves, but they almost never split and are very high in quality. Also, Legion sleeves: their matte, witch goes for both their illustrated and non illustrated, is great and everything else is old utra-pro level. Finally, Max Protection: avoid it like the plague! If you like illustrations, than their fine (though their art splits eventual), but if you don't than Max Protection sleeves will fade/decay/fail to do the basic function. Other than that, pretty well covered. Cheers, mate!
I can vouch for the dirtiness on Pro Matte. But I love them though, so I clean them up whenever I notice dirt... especially on the white ones. I use the black ones on my main deck though just cause it's harder to notice.
Hyper mat mini are the best for people who take care of their cards and don’t just shuffle and throw cards around. I’ve had them for three weeks and without unnecessary shuffling and bad treatment and with many local tournaments, they’re still fresh out of the pack.
I really like the ultimate guard japanese sized sleeves over ultro pro sleeves no doubt. I want to try out them hyper mat mini sleeves though, they seem legit.
I loved ultra pro mattes but they do get dirty a lot and quite quickly. I also hate how the matte just takes all the shiny out of the cards :/ I want to try the KMC ones but they're really hard to get in the UK (and expensive). I might try Players Choice.
I just ran through a pack of ultra pro matte blacks. Biggest weakness is constant shuffling for the deck and you start seeing definitive wear on the matted front. If your deck doesn't shuffle as much you probably won't see it as often.
Used to use Ultra Pros, ever since I tried the KMC Hyper Mat Minis, they're amazing. Far superior, the comparison isn't even fair. Get KMC. Plus, no annoying little silver thing on the front.
Im looking for deck sleeves that fit the thickness of the clear ones you showed. I remember getting single cards in the male from sellers when I bought cards that had similar thickness like that of those of dragon shield sleeves. The dragon shields were not matte but had a smooth back but the card sleeve was thicker and tougher when you shuffle them. Cant seem to find the brand accept for mini dragon shields but I don't want to buy them for fear of getting the matted ones.
After some use, my KMC Hyper Mat Minis had quite a lot of dust at the top (inbetween the front and back portion of the sleeve) because there's always a large gap when they hold a card...
love the sticker on the ultrapros tbh it´s just nostalgic to play with the same sleeves you used as a child. I switched from blue to white though hahah And they don´t get dirty at all, I don´t get why y´all sleeves get dirty in general lmao. Mine just get scratched or maybe fall apart after some years but even my main deck still looks clean... Just keep your hands clean and use a playmat...
No Legion? they are my favorite type of sleeves. They don't slide or get dirty if you play on a mat. They also held up fo me for over two years so personally I love them the most.
Bozzyshy Sleeves from my experience get worse the lighter the color, and i have black legion sleeve that i still use today that you can kinda notice there oldness, but I would consider them better than others.
Max Protection are in high supply here in the UK too and i like there's, wanna make a comment on them? if you have ever tried them anyway? they have a huge variety too from artwork to plain glossy sleeves.
Guess I'll have to try those Card Barrier Hyper Max Mini sleeves, My favourites so far have been Ultra Pros. my experience with Player's Choice has been dissapointing, last time I tried them was a few years back though, guess I'll give them another chance. I'll agree that Ultra Pros tend to lose their shuffability early and they get dirty easily.
For those wondering, KMC Hyper Matts are the top tier choice for Magic the Gathering players, if the minis are the same quality then we are talking the sleeves players would trust with their Vintage MTG decks (1000+ USD average decks)
Globalnet626 I have magic and pokemon all in Dragon Shield Matte (best sleeves ever). I need something else for yugioh sized and kpop stuff but having trouble figuring what to get...
I use monster protector matte sleeves I haven't had to change them and I've been to 2 fairly large regionals with them they have incredible longevity however they can get sticky occasionally but that's when I change them I agree that PC sleeves are the best no doubt but even in the US they're more expensive than other sleeves ultra pro sleeves I just can't do I hate them they just aren't good sleeves the gloss sleeves tear apart too easily and the mattes just suck
In the past I used red sleeves with a glossy back for one of my. After, maybe, 6 months of shuffling the sides were starting to split; and after I sold the deck to my friend, they were just getting worse. To this day, I wonder: what causes glossy backed sleeves to split?
I use Ultra Pro Gloss, but my problem with them is the shuffling being too slippery and keep shuffling out random card, as well as the occasional rip on the sleeves.
Hello, nice video. I personally i have tried all the sleeves you have there. And the sleeve that are the best are the Dragon Shields. Does sleeves are unbreakable and cleanable. Are a little expensive, but man, the quality on them is ridiculous if i compare all of the sleeves you are explaining in that video. You should do a review on them.
***** What would you rate Translucent Hyper Mat Mini sleeves? My experience with translucent sleeves has been that they suck to shuffle with or are very weak, but I miss the original Yu-Gi-Oh! card back
I mostly prefer the ultra pro sleeves they seem to last a long time for me. I don't really care much for the monster sleeves that much since they tend to stick over time.
I started playing casualy with my brother, but didn't bought sleeves, and my super rare Wisdow-eye Magician got a damaged Edge, just a little dent, probably from the constant shuffle. Will sleeves prevent that from happening? Are cheap Transparent sleeves enough just to protect them while playing ? ( I don't play at tournaments, so I don't see any reason to buy colored ones, unless it protects more)
+Pedro Castello the problem will be sleeving several decks( I'm more of a collector), though I might buy 2 ultra pro packs to play with my brother, and change the cards inside the sleeves when I change decks. Will still get cheap clear ones to store the cards. Thanks for the help.
Am I the only one who noticed that his Q&A was SHORTER than this video about card sleeves? ;-; I wish the Q&A was a half hour or so. Also, I prefer the Ultra pro because the glossy back slips and I drop my hand more than playing against the Wind-up deck (lol old deck joke for you all xD). Ultra pro have more of a "grip". I don't mind the little logo personally.
What about the dragon shield mini's? I assume that considering how much the dragon shields are well regarded in the magic community that the same would be for yugioh but nobody mentions the mini dragon shields. Are they good or not!?
Your KMC sleeves (with the design around the border) work nicely as an over cover with your world championship sleeves, but will they fit nicely with the pro-matte sleeves?
Hey all im new to card collecting and im trying to keep my cards as mint as possible, i really like his KMC oversleeve, but what would be a decent first sleeve that offers a firm back?
If you're playing yugioh, always get sleeves that say they are sized small so they fit perfectly. if your playing magic or practically any other card game. you usually go for standard
Am I the only one who actually likes using the clear konami sleeves (for leisure use obviously, not tournament)? I mean they have a great fit, the seal at the top is tight so no dust or whatever gets in and they are descent in shuffling. I could use them for double sleeving but they aren't tight enough.
Demetri Alexandrou the seal is actually really weak compared to the dragonshield seal which is so tight you might pull the inner sleeve off when double sleeving
as far as the glossy ultra pros vs the matte, i have used pro mattes for a year and they are nearly as good as day 1 and are barely dirty at all and very few, if any, have have broken. the regular ones on the other hand were dreadful. i used them for roughly the same length of time and they broke and got grimey and shuffled TERRIBLY.
Everything you said is basically the exact opposite of what I've experienced over the years. The glossy sleeves, especially PC, get grubby and tear within a few weeks, whereas I've had sets of ultrapro mattes for over a year that feel almost brand new. Interesting...
I hate ultra pro I like dragon shield and players choice they are the best ultra pro split like every 2 seconds and monster is to sharp on the edges and kmc breaks a lot. The yugioh branded ones are cheap. Dragon shield may be expensive but it's worth it cause it doesn't split and they shuffle nice
I like the UltraPro Regular ones for their Durability; i use them for the Main Deck. I use the Konami Official Sleeves for the Extra. They are slightly bigger thus more protection and Cards look good in them.
Any colour of PC except white are unusable after a couple of rounds of play. They scratch incredibly easily (so they look marked) and if they come into contact with any moisture they are hard to shuffle. Ultra Pro Matte are the most durable sleeves out there if you want to make the most of your money.
To be a pro, you gotta have sleeves. You gotta have sleeves on your sleeves. You gotta have sleeves on your eyeballs!!!
x3 YES!
ow
Matte ultra pros are the best IMO, cheap cheerful and last a long time as well as shuffling like a boss
woah woah, hyper mat minis? found my new favorite sleeve
white Players choice are also really different from the other colored players choice sleeves. The backs are completely different (whites are not glossy on the back)
yeah the white player choice is thinner in the back or something. Like it uses less paint so its a smoother shuffle overall. As oppose to the ones with colors outside of black where the back feels glossier but thicker.
Ultra pro whites are bae. Gloss.
Monster also produces sleeves that don't have the monogram on the back, and don't have the white on the inside. They produce them in Matte and Gloss
The white and gold sleeves next to the purple sleeves were my favorite
Yessss! I'm so glad you made this video. That video on the deck box review had a lot of good video ideas. Please use them.
You feel like the card is very well protected.
i like the ultra pro pro-matte sleeves because ive found that glossy sleeves stick together sometimes, whereas the matte ones dont stick at all for me
You are such a NICE person, discussing your choice of sleeves

Monster sleeves do have a matted version to them and I currently only use them and I rate them highly

+Evan Nakagawa The Ultra Pro Mattes are the best! :*
I use ultra pro matte and dragon shield matte. because I double sleeve.
I use ultra pro matte, too. The best sleeve i ever had.
+Evan Nakagawa Ultra Pro-Matte are too blurry. They really cover up the rarity effects of the cards.
Renaldy Widanto well it depends, they are good sleeves for the money. Although there not as durable or as long lasting as some others.
Your ratings for Ultra Pros and Players Choice are pretty accurate, but only for a specific group of people. No need to apologize for a long video. A longer discussion like this is usually more valuable.
I think the Player's Choice and the Ultra Pro work well. Btw I also like the longer videos on your channel compared to the shorter ones.
I can vouch for the dirtiness on Pro Matte. But I love them though, so I clean them up whenever I notice dirt... especially on the white ones. I use the black ones on my main deck though just cause it's harder to notice.
my experience kmc wwhite are the best sleeves.
Hyper mat mini are the best for people who take care of their cards and don’t just shuffle and throw cards around. I’ve had them for three weeks and without unnecessary shuffling and bad treatment and with many local tournaments, they’re still fresh out of the pack.
Do not get black tho, they’re not produced correctly. Blue red white and clear are the best
I miss the ultra pro metalized sleeves
I really like the ultimate guard japanese sized sleeves over ultro pro sleeves no doubt. I want to try out them hyper mat mini sleeves though, they seem legit.
I loved ultra pro mattes but they do get dirty a lot and quite quickly. I also hate how the matte just takes all the shiny out of the cards :/ I want to try the KMC ones but they're really hard to get in the UK (and expensive). I might try Players Choice.

i like regular ultra pro sleeves and monster sleeves. i find any pro matte sleeve has sharp corners and break easily
I have the same sleeves for 5 years, still works just fine
Why are those at 23:26 just good for trading? I mean, if I play with them are they gonna break? or get dirty easily or something?
Used to use Ultra Pros, ever since I tried the KMC Hyper Mat Minis, they're amazing. Far superior, the comparison isn't even fair. Get KMC. Plus, no annoying little silver thing on the front.
KMC Pro-Mat Mini or Ultra Pro Matte. Love them both, more-so the KMC's, though.
This is an awesome video, have been looking for some ultimate review-type of video like this.
Thanks! :D I'm going to be making an updated one in the near future with more.
AlintheaYoh the first time i see a review about wcq sleeves. That is really helpful.

I use the hyper mat ones a bit and they don't get marked much on the back even with the ridges
The newer pro matte sleeves are a little bit better especially with the water mark positioning and making it transparent.
love the sticker on the ultrapros tbh
it´s just nostalgic to play with the same sleeves you used as a child. I switched from blue to white though hahah

Globalnet626 I have magic and pokemon all in Dragon Shield Matte (best sleeves ever). I need something else for yugioh sized and kpop stuff but having trouble figuring what to get...
Thanks for the video AlintheaYoh.
I'm definitely going to use players choice from now on.

I think i'll get the kmc hyper mat mini sleeves. dragon shield just comes with 50 sleeves sadly.
hyper matts (black) best sleeves i use it for years (for magic), if there are dragon shields (for ygo) on the marked you should try this too
Hello, nice video.

ultimate guard. they are slightly more expensive but they are the best ever they don't scratch they shuffle like butter and don't get grubby
No monster sleeves?
eddy9524 I explain that in the video.
***** Yeah sorry, I paused it RIGHT when you where about to talk about them XD my bad! I really like your videos btw!

What would you rate Translucent Hyper Mat Mini sleeves? My experience with translucent sleeves has been that they suck to shuffle with or are very weak, but I miss the original Yu-Gi-Oh! card back
so are the sleeves Konami official puts out on sale at say your local game store exactly the same as that champ qualifier sleeves on this video?
I mostly prefer the ultra pro sleeves they seem to last a long time for me. I don't really care much for the monster sleeves that much since they tend to stick over time.
If I was going to double sleeve what would be the best smaller sleeve to use on the inside ?
Which sleeves should I get if my priority is to protect and preserve the cars?
I started playing casualy with my brother, but didn't bought sleeves, and my super rare Wisdow-eye Magician got a damaged Edge, just a little dent, probably from the constant shuffle. Will sleeves prevent that from happening? Are cheap Transparent sleeves enough just to protect them while playing ? ( I don't play at tournaments, so I don't see any reason to buy colored ones, unless it protects more)
Yes, but you can buy ultra pro for like 3-4 dollars, so it's worth it.
+Pedro Castello the problem will be sleeving several decks( I'm more of a collector), though I might buy 2 ultra pro packs to play with my brother, and change the cards inside the sleeves when I change decks. Will still get cheap clear ones to store the cards. Thanks for the help.

That" they are ridged "joke made me laugh so hard
What about the dragon shield mini's? I assume that considering how much the dragon shields are well regarded in the magic community that the same would be for yugioh but nobody mentions the mini dragon shields. Are they good or not!?
Thanks for the informative video and presentation, definitely helped me understand what I bought (I got the ultra pro regulars)
You are most welcome.
Your KMC sleeves (with the design around the border) work nicely as an over cover with your world championship sleeves, but will they fit nicely with the pro-matte sleeves?
Hey all im new to card collecting and im trying to keep my cards as mint as possible, i really like his KMC oversleeve, but what would be a decent first sleeve that offers a firm back?
what are those kmc oversleeves that you double sleeved your extra deck with called exactly?
KMC Over Sized "Character Guard" Sleeves for Mini Cards
kmcsleeves.com/IMAGEgallery4.htm
I use ultra pro cuz I'm cheap when it comes to sleeves
hyper mat are the best in my opinion. and if I remember player's choice are literally the American side of kmc hence why they are so similar
What's that song in the beginning? Sounds catchy.
Dragon Shield are top notch! How did u miss out on those ones?
So sized 60 are the sizes that fit perfectly for yugioh cards? Are they the Ultra Pro small sizes?
If you're playing yugioh, always get sleeves that say they are sized small so they fit perfectly. if your playing magic or practically any other card game. you usually go for standard
9:30 which sleeves there are ? got anyone link?
KMC Character Sleeves
Danke
Horror story from my locals. The ones with the Astral key lost my opponent a game because he shuffled monsters from his extra into his main deck...
Can you do trade binders next?
Can you doublesleeve playerschoice sleeves with the transparent kmc sleeves you mentioned?
XeRoaTHD Yep!
yes you can. also if you double sleeve i recommend trying dragin shield matte as the outerv sleeves.
I wanted opinions on legion and ultimate guard :(
JJesse Glaser ultimate guard sleeves are alright, nothing special, legion sleeves are garbage, worse than ultra pros, dragonshield>all others
Am I the only one who actually likes using the clear konami sleeves (for leisure use obviously, not tournament)? I mean they have a great fit, the seal at the top is tight so no dust or whatever gets in and they are descent in shuffling. I could use them for double sleeving but they aren't tight enough.
they accept the bigger illustrated sleeves if yoy want to double sleeve.
Demetri Alexandrou the seal is actually really weak compared to the dragonshield seal which is so tight you might pull the inner sleeve off when double sleeving
How would you rate dragon shield? I think they are pretty good.
KMC and Players Choice Whites all the way best sleeves for long event play.
Any suggestions for a new player that isn't competitive and just plays with friends?
Are those sleeves really nice?
Dragon shields are the best! (better than players choice)
The only down side is that they come in packs of 50 and not 60 sleeves
no yugioh sized dragon sleeves?
as far as the glossy ultra pros vs the matte, i have used pro mattes for a year and they are nearly as good as day 1 and are barely dirty at all and very few, if any, have have broken. the regular ones on the other hand were dreadful. i used them for roughly the same length of time and they broke and got grimey and shuffled TERRIBLY.
cool I need sleeves and I don't know which to review
Do you buy yu gi oh cards? I'm in Canada
Can you double sleeve hyper mat kmc with the character guard sleeve
Also ultra pro and dragon shield do they fit it
my card shop only has 1 color of players choice unfortunately, its all ultrapro and dragon shield otherwise
Can you get dragonshield's for yugioh
Everything you said is basically the exact opposite of what I've experienced over the years.
The glossy sleeves, especially PC, get grubby and tear within a few weeks, whereas I've had sets of ultrapro mattes for over a year that feel almost brand new.
Interesting...
is there any downside to use MTG sleeves on yugioh cards?
playermaxx1 they are bigger than Yugioh cards
Player's Choice and Dragon Shields are the best
KMC's are better.
so in the end, which ones are the best?
Players choice
but you cant shuffle from side, like dropping cards on top of each other while the deck is sideway, idk if you get it XD
it's not "player's choice", it's "player's choice" as in there is no best it is what ever you prefer :)
so which do you prefer?
using the white ultra pros but I might have to change my choice of sleeves for my extra deck after this video.
no hentai sleeves?
where do you get that pegasus playmat?
I hate ultra pro I like dragon shield and players choice they are the best ultra pro split like every 2 seconds and monster is to sharp on the edges and kmc breaks a lot. The yugioh branded ones are cheap. Dragon shield may be expensive but it's worth it cause it doesn't split and they shuffle nice
I know I use dragon shield or ultimate guard
this is true I wouldn't put my tokens in ultra pro sleeves
Nick Krolnik players choice are just as crappy as ultra pros, hyper mat and dragonshield ftw
What about bushiroad?
Sorry if you hear rumbling in the background, typical English weather is here today like every other day
I'm really scared of lightning... And I'm a 21 year young man. :S
I like the UltraPro Regular ones for their Durability; i use them for the Main Deck.
I use the Konami Official Sleeves for the Extra. They are slightly bigger thus more protection and Cards look good in them.
Nice Q&A!
My goal is 5k subscribers by 2016 :) imma be a yugituber just like you! :) love watching your videos man!
Haha wrong video! Meant to put that on your last one!
Hi I'm subbed to you
no supreme sleeves? :D
Any colour of PC except white are unusable after a couple of rounds of play.
They scratch incredibly easily (so they look marked) and if they come into contact with any moisture they are hard to shuffle.
Ultra Pro Matte are the most durable sleeves out there if you want to make the most of your money.
where can you get these from?
