When I hear Yu-Gi-Oh, these cards come to mind: Dark Magician, Red Eyes Black Dragon, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Exodia, and the Egyptian God Cards.

Oh, my god. Only now i realised how awesome Yu-gi-oh would be as a VR game. It's just - perfect!!! You don't need to move, only to choose cards and then you just watch as mighty dragons, magic knights and other creatures crush each other on the battlefield. Oh god, that would have been awesome!
2 major problem. 1. its a konami game so in the end they would screw it somehow and it would be unplayable 2. even if they manage to make it amazing, no one would play it since yugioh is unenjoyable with the new cards.

Its just not the same, its not simple, too many rules and lots of cards are so OP they are banned from tournaments
oh belive me a lot of cards were banned back in the early yugioh aswell, but we didnt know about them. A VR yugioh game would be awesome the only problem is that, we couldnt stand a chance against pendulum decks with normal yugioh decks from the first/gx show
Well, to try the water, they can always start only with the first season, just as Pokemon Go started only with the first generation of Pokemons.

Same. I had a Kaiba deck. 2 original blue eyes and a limited edition one. Me and my friends would have duels role-playing. Obviously I was Kaiba and my other friend was Bakura. He had a pretty bad ass deck of fiends. Few others would play as Mai and Joey but no one wanted to be Taia.

I dunno about the harpies but I think Time Wizard and Baby Dragon/Thousand Dragon would have been worth an honourable mention considering how much of a staple they were in Joey's deck. Also possibly Yugi's Curse of Dragon.
Kuriboh isn't a maybe. It's a definitely. It's easily the 4th most iconic card after Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.
I literally learned how to play the game JUST from watching the show and not reading the manual :)

Pretty much the Dragon cards were considered the best ones to have, man I remember those days
Only because most players back then were little kids with no concept of card economy. 2 tributes for an effect-less beat stick? Say hello to a 3 to 1 resource deficit when it gets destroyed by a trap hole or a smashing ground.
`When that cards showed up 2500 Atk pointns were far enough to crush half of the opponent deck, that 'card economy concept' was useless, when you knew that your opponent had Blue-Eyes, Dark magician, or to a lesser extend Red-Eyes you had very phew resources to deal with it (Fissure, Trap Hole, Mirror Force and Dark Hole) so you had to save them and in that time the Fusion Deck was just a supportive almost not used feature, so if you sacrificed 2 monsters was worthy enough 'cause until your opponent get one of the 4 previous mentioned cards you could plainly crush his field with that effect-less beatstick, even summoning weak monsters to bait the attack mob.
You never played the true original Yu-Gi-Oh! right?
Alfonso Cabrera I have been playing it since day 1 actually. That's the whole reason I even brought up tributes in the first place, given that the mechanic has been pretty much non-existent in competitive play, outside of Monarchs, ever since Invasion of Chaos. And being old enough to have been playing Magic the Gathering for several years before Yugioh was invented, I carried more than enough spot removal precisely to take advantage of those who just didn't get why level 8 normal types weren't as good as the cartoon made them look.
True, Sometimes if you had two monsters of 1800 on the field it was pointless to bring down a monster os 2500 by taking that two of them.
But in the beginning there was very few ways to deal with a Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field.

The Red Eyes Black Dragon is so iconic, the Red Eyes family is still growing: with the Red Eyes Slash, Red Eyes Retro, Red Eyes Archfiend, Red Eyes Wyvern, Red Eyes Metal, and even Red Eyes Baby Dragon, which allows you to special summon any Red Eyes monster and equiping the baby will boost its attack power.

Ironically she didn't appear until Season 2, although quickly became 1 of the most iconic cards. I'm surprised Mahad wasn't mentioned though as he actually became Dark Magician, same for Kisara in Blue Eyes White Dragon.

I have a deck built around blue eyes white dragon it has allowed me to win several games
You don't even need obelisk/shining, you can use 2 blue-eyes and a sheep (or whatever it's called) and just fuse them for a surprise ultimate dragon

HeliosKitty but Buster blader? he's not iconic...Harpie lady was there throughout the series except the last one.
Hogdion Hanna The missing Harpie Lady is indeed a conundrum, but Buster Blader is *quite* iconic. He featured prominently in the victory moves of two of Yugi's god-winning Duels, and Yugi's final Duel with Kaiba in particular (with Slifer fighting Obelisk) is one of the most iconic *Duels* in the series.

The most constantly tinkered with monster having itself, a metal form, fusion, a sword made to look exactly like it, a zombie, a level 9 dragon that is overshadowed by the level 10 dragon that is Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon with plays so insane it may never be away from 1 again, a Summoned Skull spinoff, and entire archetype dedicated to it which includes the Skull spinoff, a new fusion card for it, a new fusion monster in both Clash of Rebellion and Invasion: Vengeance, and perhaps one of the top 5 rank 7 Xyz monsters you will ever see and play, but hey, let's not forget how often Mystical Space Typhoon has been reprinted. (Disclaimer. I may have forgotten a few things, so reply to add to this.)

plus the new red eyes warrior archetype that was just added, and an actually useful red eyes baby dragon. by far 1 of my favorite card sets, next to dragunities

Zorc Necrophades (Zorc The Dark One) isn't a monster, it is actually a god. It's the same thing for the Orichalcos God (The Great Leviathan).

my favorite series of cards is definitely the Red-Eyes Black Dragon since the series began. It may not be as powerful as the Blue-Eyes, but with countless alternate forms and much faster to get on the field and in greater numbers (even sans new Blue-Eyes meta,) it has always been my go-to deck.
