So, I am moving to Mount Dora on May 26, 2020. My wife and I visited there in October of 2018. We were there only a few hours but liked what we saw. There is a senior community there called Waterman Village where we live. The only thing I didn’t like is it is about a 45 minute drive to get to a Costco, an Apple Store and some other places we like to shop. I have never lived in Florida but it seems like we have made a pretty decent choice. Thank you for the video, I have been expecting it.
My husband and I are looking to retire in a year or two. We have been looking in north central FL, and Mt. Dora has caught our attention too. We'd enjoy reading any furture comments on your new home Mr. Q. Best of wishes!
Puca I will try to remember to post how things are going. I am wondering now how the move will go with Covid-19 changing everything? Hopefully, we can keep to our schedule.
This reminds me of a lot of places way up north, where I’m from. Look up Fairport, NY. This town is charming too. We just got here to Bonita Springs, and we love it.
Thanks for the video. I'm only partway thru it now but would suggest saying Northwest of Orlando. Sanford is North of Orlando. There are many flight options at Sanford Airport. It's in Lake County and has a population of at least 410k. I'm guessing many are snow birds. It's ok to do a monologue while you ae showing the video. Thx
You will find Victorian era house a lot in Central and North Florida probably not so much in South Florida. But in Central and North Florida you will find them much more easily. It's probably because the wealth that was required to have a Victorian style house(in that time) was in that part of Florida in those old days. Even the little town I went to school in Cresecent City, FL has an entire side of town with old Victorian homes. Especially if you go to town that are on or near the St.Johns River as that was the business atery long ago. In the old cypress logging days.
I miss Victorian Homes & I wasn’t expecting to find as I live in South Florida ,I never knew there were any of those kind of homes in Florida.I know now & will check them out. Thanks
Is mt Dora where the big flea market? We were going to hit that up last vist but never made it. Thanks for the video. Definitely going to go next trip.
Christine Liebke Mt. Dora has a fantastic place called Rennigers. It’s an indoor and outdoor flea market that is open on the weekends only and known for themed festivals like The Steampunk festival and many classic car shows.
Very nice video on Mt. Dora. We have an interest in finding out more about this little town, as we are looking to relocate to north central FL in a year or two. How are the amenities in and around Mt. Dora? What about the hospital and medical facilities in Mt. Dora? Thanks for any information you may provide!
Will JC - I live near downtown Orlando, about 25 miles from Mt Dora. I go there on a fairly regular basis when it’s not brutally hot outside. I work for AdventHealth, that’s why I know there’s a good hospital there ;)
Nice tour, thanks, the drone views really help to picture the scale and surroundings.
Mt Dora is the crown jewel of small town Florida, a tourist spot since the 1920s. Stayed at the Lakeside Inn when I was a kid.
Thanks for this video and to add a place to visit on my list . Thanks stay sweet love u
Nice. It does seem like a charming town. A real life Mayberry 👍

You only have to go to Costco once a month if you buy enough. Closest one is probably in Altamonte Springs.

@Navy809, how about now, after 6 months? Do you still live there?
Editing skills are going up. 🙌
Yep, I see a “New England” feel. An “old town” (I don’t mean Fl park) vibe. Looks quaint and quiet.
Nice 🤙🏼
I'm originally from Texas, I moved here to Florida, I drove through the area there. I was like wow.

My home town!!
Ian Meier, it's been 6 months since you said that. Is it still your hometown? Or did you move out at some point between then and now?
