This is where I was born and raised. :) Thank you guys for sharing the video w/ us. It's been years since I have been home and it was good to see the area again.
I grew up there, I'm the person who I am now from living in umatilla,I love umatilla so much,I got a lot of family still there oh yes your definitely saying it right lol,I go down there too visit my dad grave and grandma and grandpa graves also in June,I ❤️ that place
Umatilla IS a charming little town. I wish you might come back and see some of the historic landmarks you missed. Cadwell Park has some amazing tree sculptures on Cassady, original homestead fondly called "The White House" on Trowell Ave. The old school building now museum also on Trowell. Local well-established businesses along Main Street (Hwy 19). Come in from the south on 19 and stop at Mason Jar and get some of their good home cooking and sweet tea!!
When you said this is probably what the Golden Gate Estates was before all those people moved. I was like hold up! That’s my area!! Golden Gate Estates was so laid back and quiet back in the day. I miss those days.
Wow, you guys are going way out in the woods! My friend's mom works at the post office. If you listen closely you can hear banjoes off in the distance lol. Reminds me of cottonwood/ Daleville
i was lucky enough to grow up in this town, and my house was the one across the lake at 11:45. Its grown a little over the years, but its still a great little town.
little bit of information: I grew up in the bright yellow and green house across from the skatepark on Caldwell and all those houses on that street that you thought were new have been there my entire life (23 years). Lots of people on this street renovate their houses and keep them looking nice.
I drive a semi through Umatilla as there's a project of Amazon warehouse being built on the East Coast and as soon as I drive through Umatilla, there's something about this old Southern Country City that looks paused in time. You can feel that it was a great place to live decades ago. I drive all over Florida and this is the only City that brought that feeling and the closest one to Umatilla is Floral City. You should drive in Floral City Florida.
I am so glad I discovered your videos. We are considering a move to Florida. Your videos have helped us to rethink some places we were considering and to look at others that we weren't.
Theses are the places i love to drive not so much the big citys anymore lakeland fl is getting to be too much so many people from different states with horrible driving im allways running into a bad driver it feels like there out to get me 😆
my daughters boyfriend in high school lived across from that lake at the23 minute mark and his parents property is a higher level than that lake...so they had a steep ass driveway. one day he left the family suv parked normally but without using the parking brake. the damn truck went all the way down the driveway backwards, across that road and right into the lake.idk what happened afterwards..hard lesson to learn.
96% white in Florida says it all no need to go there. while i dont think thats right.. most towns like that are in good shape today. they politic their way into wealth
So you made it to the original "U" .. you probably drove past my house to get there... and it looks like you are driving into the Ocala National Forrest... I thought you moved to Alabama??
Nice, I love these little towns in central inland Florida.

Is it a good place to live? Are there good jobs and how much do they pay more or less?
Umatilla will eventing be developed over the next 10 years. Currently rural Eustis, mt dora, and sorrento is being developed. Umatilla is next.
You seem to have an accurate understanding of pretty country areas. The good qualities and other qualities mixed. Florida is so diverse.
Go look at it on a map. It's not country, it's 5 minutes from a major population center.
Florida got problems lol the villages makeing this a retirement home
The real Florida back in the 50s.
That right there is my home town Umatilla Florida. Born and raised...

It's named after Umatilla, Oregon (we pronounce it "Yumatilla") and it's the name of the local native American tribe.
I live outside of Umatilla now. I am from south Florida and watched it blow up with 595
Umatilla is pronounced. You-muh-tilla :)

Please- Katie needs a Covid test & a check for asthma! Both can be mild but then can turn bad extremely fast without treatment.
Maybe you should do some videos in Spanish para que tu gente pueda estar mas informada de la realidad de USA y se eduque mas
I don’t really care for a Spanish audience
Drought
There ain't no drout here. lol We average 51 inches of rain per year, lol
