T F it deserved a 50. Nobody has ever done that before. Especially not that high in the air, but Zach couldn’t lose doing a between the legs from the free throw line 😂
@@kaylonbrown7571 I dunno. That reverse 360 windmill was bonkers especially on the first try and it was flawless. In terms of start to finish I still think VC hadcthe gold standard performance but AG's performance is the only competition
The disrespect on Lavine smfh. The dude just did a windmill from the freethrow line and a between the legs Aaron Gordon, VC and Mj could only wish on doing that
@@CMCut That dunk is hella athletic but Gordon's dunks were athletic and creative. Two ft dunks in a row...in my opinion the second one should have lost points on creativity. Thru the legs should be a 50 not the other one.

It was funny how Karl Anthony Towns was on the sideline trying not to give AG his props he would only jump up hysterically when his teammate at the time Zach lavine did a dunk
I've always thought that. Major bias toward LaVine. When he dunked that year Thomas was gassing major on the sideline and not reacting towards Gordon's dunks.Gordon was definitely the winner that year and also this year. He got robbed 2 times and that's not right. I think hes by far the best dunker in the dunk contest of all time. No one has done anything like he has. LaVine was a close 2nd but Gordon definitely should have 2 trophies.
Omar worked hard and created a platform of his passion on RUclips and it blew up. Really glad he was hired by ESPN he is perfect for the job and the interview was great. Aaron really opened up and gave his perspective on one of the best dunk contest performances in recent years. The dunk where he sits in mid air is one of the best dunks I’ve ever seen!
Gordon had that decisiveness and mid-air aesthetics that Vince Carter had. Maybe Lavine could fly from point A to point B better, but all his jumps were off one leg and his mid-air moves looked kind of sloppy/rushed, they weren't as creative as Gordon's dunks either. Lavine still had 10/10 dunks, but Gordon lost only because there wasn't 11 points. And no judge dared to give Lavine 9 just because Gordon had the better dunk.
Yes, well, he missed one dunk. That's why we need to make an example of AG, and make him lose the dunk contest. With best regards, 2016 dunk contest judge Shaquille "Genius" O'Neal.
2016 for me was the best dunk contest ever. It legit inspired me to start going gym and get nore athletic, when I realised ZL and AG were the same age as me. Going gym has been part of my lifestyle ever since 😂 That's inspiration right there

AG is a great dude and and a legit empath. Look at how he makes himself smaller to make the interviewer more comfortable. He's constantly aware the other men are insecure around him and does everything he can to make people feel comfortable
All I kept repeating while rewatching the dunks was HOW DID HE NOT WIN? Levine was good, but he just repeated the dunks he did from the previous year, no dazzle, no mascots, just pure athleticism. Gordon brought it all, and he had some great creativity and power. My favorite was the vault jump over Stuff's head into the reverse dunk. His head was almost level with the rim! Could have gone horribly wrong if he didn't clear the mascot standing below, and he had to swing the ball under his legs without losing it, and scoop it around behind his head for the dunk. Excited to see what he brings to the competition this time around.
People’s champ, for sure! His final dunk was crazy and criminally underrated; that should’ve been a 50. This dude cocked it behind his head (tapped his back with the ball) contorted himself and then did a full double clutch between his legs before sending it home reversed. That’s one of the craziest, most difficult dunks I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen plenty.

Vince Carter's 360 Windmill was so powerful, the spin and then the slam, and then the between the legs bounce from Tracy McGrady were the best dunks just from the pure power from it.. But This was the best creative dunk contest ever, and Gordon should have won.
Air Gordon got robbed. Lavigne won simply because 50 was the highest score that could have been given. You all know some of Gordons dunks were the greatest in history, but Lavingne managed to get 50s as well. Which beckons the question, what constitutes a 50? Because his under the legs over the mascot dunk was 50 plus easily.
that scoop dunk was insane. Lavine did almost the same dunk but without the spinning mascot. That should have been the winning dunk. Both were crazy good though
It annoyed me a lot when AG was doing these crazy dunks and the players seemed to respond very little while they were jumping up and down crazily when LaVine did his dunks (which were still great nonetheless). But looking at the players' reaction for the 3rd dunk just showed what really happened; AG's dunk was just beyond belief that you could only just drop your mouth and be in awe at what you just witnessed.
