At 25:25, there is a mistake, it is "Urogenital Diaphragm" (not pelvic diaphragm). Thank you so much @Tanmmygarg4051 for correction. Really appreciate that.
In video #59 of this playlist, when you spoke of the mesonephric ducts that get reduced in length from the pronephric kidney to the mesonephric kidney, you then said that the caudual parts of the two ducts form into glomerulus, etc. Yet in the previous video #60, you clearly shown that the nephrons and cortical part of the kidney form from the metanephric kidney!!! This is very confusing! I waited to come into this video to see if you would shed more insights into what happened to the glomerulia at the caudal end of the mesonephric ducts, or to clarify whether there was some error. I am not a medical person, yet highly interested in human a&p, so I am not trying to act extra clever. What you said in video # 59 about the glomerulia occurring at the mesonephric part of the intermediate mesoderm does not make sense. Now I know a bit that the gonadal ridge is near the mesonephric "kidney", and eventually it may turn out that as the baby matures anatomically the testis will develop there and the two mesonephric ducts will join to the baby's testis, and eventually follow the testis down caudally as the vas deferens. Is this what will happen? Maybe you have to still make the video as I dont see anything in the playlist as of today. Even so, you explicitly used the term "glomerulus" in video #59, but I know glomerulus is associated with kidneys! So what am I missing? Tyia. All this said, your work and explanation is remarkable, as clear as can possibly be, in a topic that is very difficult. Thank you very much.
Ahhh. I see why you are getting confused. I apologize for the confusion. Let me explain. Actually, the three types of kidney develop in human. Pronephric kidney, Mesonephric kidney, and metanephric kidney. But only the metanephric kidney survives and other two are lost. So, even though the mesonephric kidney also form the glomeruli, but ultimately they are destroyed. (some scientists believe that mesonephric kidney is temporarily functional in human embryos). Some of the upper mesonephric ducts remain and they are repurposed to form the efferent ductules of the testes. This has been discussed in development of testes lectures on MedicoVisual.com I hope you understood it now.
