Craig knows of what he speaks! This looks too easy, a guide fly for sure. No eyes, no resin/epoxy-love it. Can't wait to crank a few out.

Tied up a couple this morning and went to my local rocks. Everyone else was walking away. 2nd cast and was on to a nice Bonito - result speaks for itself. Thanks for the video !

Great video SWE! I've had success with picky Albies and my most basic flys in the past. I'm looking forward to trowing it this season!

Nice fly- first time seeing it. I'll tying a couple of these for when I'm in Florida surf fishing next month in tan/white and olive and white. I have used EZ Body before in other patterns- but I love the simplicity of this.

It is a true guide fly, simple and effective!

The key to a good fly ... simplicity. Will be trying a few of these around the NE coast of the UK. Thanks.

Gave this fly pattern a few tries during the autumn fishing off the rocky coast of Northumberland. Certainly is very effective and durable, proving effective for Pollack and smaller Cod. I found that one tied with a touch of orange craft fur gave good results taking better sized fish. Thank you.

Jack Gartside developed this fly. It is effective but I migrated away to tie Rhode Island style flies and epoxy style flies. I think I'll migrate back. Thanks

Glad to hear you are giving it a try and thanks for the history! The nice thing about this fly vs. Gartside's is the incorporation of EZ Body. Gartside colored his flies after but using the EZ Body makes it a simpler process.

Anyone ever tie these with BT? Of course it won't sink as quickly, but you could bulk it up if you wanted. Thinking peanuts.

That is a great idea, I think the craft fur gives this a little more motion in the water but the best thing about fly tying is trying different things out!
