I am looking forward to trying this for low latency feeds for remote broadcasts. I have used WebRTC in the past but it’s a little finicky for what I am trying to do. Thank you!!!!
Strongly considering this for bringing in remote guests, but my big question is how you're getting output from the Pi when it receives the stream. Is it possible to have it start a player and output over HDMI so we can go directly into a switcher?
Hey, is there now kindda simple way to make srt with an ATEM? I usually plug my ATEM to a streming bridge and then to an encoder but that's really not reliable and not easy to set up the right way to have some good quality.
New question: In plain english, is there a way to set up a streamkey so that only the people I want to stream in can? What does the setup process look like and what would be the key I send to the individual(s) to put into OBS?
Cameras are Panasonic HC-X1E and Panasonic HC-X2000, running into a PC running vMix with a Blackmagic Decklink Quad HDMI card. ATEM Mini Extreme is feeding the on set monitor so I can do transitions and box effects on it etc. I'm controlling both vMix and the ATEM using a NewTek LC11 with Central Control. Mic is a rode lav running into Behringer UMC404HD.
I am planning on getting a mini PC (Beelink U59) to run companion along with OBS for graphics for my ATEM mini pro. Will I be able to install Nimble streamer onto the mini PC and use that instead? Or will I encounter issues with encoding overload as the mini PC is already doing two tasks?
I would leave it at OBS + Companion. You don't want your graphics dropping frames. However I would implore you to take a look at our app Central Control instead of Companion - The CPU load will be lower, and it supports way more controllers than just the StreamDeck (As well as cool features such as SuperSource Animator etc).
Suggestion: when screen capping tutorials like this, use a bigger terminal window font. This font, at this size, comes close to flickering at 1080p because the elements aren't thick enough. :-)
Without a doubt - I would probably have been better off if i'd fullscreen'd the VNC window too. Btw - Softvelum have actually updated the guide I was following (linked in description) and this is even easier to install now.
This lets you take advantage of the hardware encoder in the ATEM without the need for a PC. You could send this kit pre configured to site and then receive SRT with vMix or OBS.
@@thisiscentralcontrol so essentially i could use a Gopro Hero 10 on a 4G 5G network to stream RTMP to a raspberry pi running nimble studio, and have the raspberry pi output SRT to OBS.
Would I be able to run both Nimble streamer and Speedify at the same time? If you haven't seen the video by Alex Pettitt, here it is - ruclips.net/video/3z38rZcdeDA/видео.html&ab_channel=AlexPettitt So here is the flow for the stream; 1- ATEM extreme ISO (switching cameras, overlays, and providing an RTMP ingest) 2- Raspberry Pi 4 (4gb) running Nimble Streamer & Speedify Bonding (to get optimum streaming quality) (sending SRT) 3- Castr (receiving SRT ingest and sending RTMP to multiple platforms)
That's a nice tutorial, thank you, Joe! We've also updated the Raspberry Pi installation page with sudos and easier sources list update.

any chance doing srt on hvec h265 with rasberry pi4?
Hey thanks for the video, really interesting!
We could also run a local RTMP server and that how we got that on PC with vmix
Super interesting.

Can we convert video from h264 to h265 (HEVC)?
thanks a lot
Why would u need this if you can stream SRT directly to VMIX or obs ?
