For me I watched the anime after I just finished watching Made in Abyss... so I still have worldbuilding focused anime mindset. And being my age almost 30, I adore this anime - its a perfect piece for people my age who grow up watching anime. It was so good that after I binge watch to episode 13 - I end up immediately buying physical copies of the manga.
It a certain level of storytelling some can’t just understand. As a shonentard at one point in my life I had to branch out to other genres to see what the medium had to offer as a whole. You get to appreciate masterpiece storytelling like this
Same stuff with S2 of Vinland Saga, some people just don’t get the appeal and think it’s boring/downgrade for S1. Me? I loved it and was totally hooked the entire season!

I always say to people who want to watch it but aren't sure if they have the time watch till ep 10 if u liked everything up until then u would enjoy frieren if u only liked the fight scenes or it was still not to ur liking then drop it
Not only that, but the quality and the adaptation are so good. Reading the manga and comparing it panel to scenes. I gotta give it to them. Especially stark and frieren dance scene. I love how they didn't drag out the fight scene for too long but the quality is still there.
Ep. 16 was amazing! For me, I enjoyed episodes before, but had that I’m invested 100% moment in Ep. 14. That’s when I was ready to consider adding Frieren to my best of all time list. Like, “alright, I got the pen ready!” I also watched through the series all at once at around the time Ep. 18-20 were releasing after seeing Frieren pop up on my feed for months. And then #1 MAL came. I eventually decided I had to know what was going on with this one. What’s all this talk of Frieren about line of thinking?
I wouldnt call it the "boring" parts boring instead i refer to them as "relaxing" U see people nowadays are too used and too spoiled when it comes to nuts to butts action to the point that it gets hard for them to appreciate melancholic shows like frieren :v

I dislike action anime, yet I find Frieren to be exceptionally boring and flat. Watch Monogatari or Re:Zero to see how you can have intriguing and interesting dialogues in just one place without action; everything is so well-written.
It is boring. Tried to find anything good in it, but it doesnt have any, it has no aim, a journey with no real achievements nor developments. Really the greatest disappointment regarding anime of the decade, really wish no other anime comes this boring and dull.

This show is fun and relatable, and after watching ep14, I just cant go back and watch ep1 without tearing up.

Frieren is a good slice of life but definitely not something that should be on Top 1 in MAL.
